Chapter 482 Silently Loving You Is Enough 1
Tina was extremely anxious.
She took out her phone and immediately prepared to call Jessica.
But at the moment of dialing, she hesitated.
Jessica was already overworked and her body was running on overdrive.
Moreover, her mother-in-law was in a coma, Gabriel hadn't returned to the country, and the whole Walton family was in chaos.
If she told Jessica about Freddy and Gilbert's disappearance now, Jessica would be overwhelmed with worry.
After thinking it over, Tina decided that calling the police was the most reliable option.
She immediately thought of Vincent.
She found his number in her contacts, took a deep breath, and cautiously dialed.
During the phone rang, her heart pounded.
He might not have saved her number, and it would just show up as an unknown caller.
So, would Vincent answer?
Tina was anxious, feeling both nervous and rushed.
To her relief, Vincent answered the call.
Soon, Vincent's clear voice came through the phone, "Hello, who is this?"
"Is this Vincent? This is Dr. Ingram, do you remember me?"
"Yes, I remember. What's the matter?"
Tina nodded, "Do you have a moment? I need your help with something."
"Go ahead, if I can help, I will."
Tina quickly summarized what had happened that day and mentioned Freddy and Gilbert's disappearance.
"Add me on Facebook with this number and send me the address. I'll be there right away."
Vincent said, grabbing his jacket from the sofa and rushing out.
Donny saw him leaving and shouted, "Mr. Lucas, where are you rushing off to? Don't you have a training session later?"
"Get me a leave of absence, tell them I have something urgent to attend to, and I'll make up for the training tomorrow."
"Mr. Lucas."
Donny called again, but Vincent was already in his car, hitting the gas and driving off.
As soon as he got in the car, Tina had sent the address.
Vincent arrived in ten minutes and rolled down the window when he saw Tina, "Dr. Ingram, get in."
In the car, Tina explained the situation again, "I asked Ms. Caldwell, and she said Freddy and Gilbert knew the person who picked them up. The person claimed to be from the Walton family."
"Did you tell Jessica to call home and confirm?"
Tina shook her head, "No. Jessica told me she thought her mother-in-law's accident was suspicious like it was intentional. I'm afraid if that person was an imposter targeting Gilbert and Freddy, Jessica would be extremely worried if she knew."
"Jessica is very weak right now and not doing well, so I called you."
"Alright, don't worry, we'll go to the Walton Manor to confirm right away."
"Okay."
"Buckle up, I'm going to speed up."
Twenty minutes later, Vincent and Tina arrived at the Walton Manor.
After some inquiries, they found out that Freddy and Gilbert were safe and sound at the Walton Manor. Tina let out a long sigh.
If Freddy and Gilbert had gone missing, how would she explain it to Jessica?
Fortunately, everything turned out fine.
Knowing that Freddy and Gilbert were safe at home, Tina immediately called Jessica to reassure her.
"Jessica, Freddy, and Gilbert are safely back at the Walton family, don't worry."
"Thank you, Tina. If it weren't for you today, I wouldn't know what to do."
"Have dinner and rest well. I've already instructed the Walton family's servants to take care of Freddy and Gilbert, so don't worry too much."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Tina looked at Vincent, "You haven't had dinner yet, right? Thank you so much for helping me today. How about I treat you to dinner as a reward?"
Tina knew that Vincent came immediately not because of her, but because the missing people were Jessica's children, which made him so concerned.
But it didn't matter to Tina; just seeing him made her happy enough.
On the way back, the car windows were open, and the gentle evening breeze lightly blew.
Tina sat in the passenger seat, her hair lifted by the breeze.
If she could, she wished this road would stretch on forever.
Even if they did nothing and said nothing, just quietly being by his side made her feel extremely content.
Tina suddenly remembered a saying: When you're with someone you like, even the air smells sweet.
Tonight's breeze was really sweet.
So sweet that she felt a bit intoxicated.
As the car passed through a street, Tina smelled the aroma of barbecue.
"Smells so good!" she lightly praised.
Vincent slowed down and asked, "Interested?"
"What about you?" Tina asked him.
"I'm fine with anything."
"Then let me treat you to some barbecue, but it's by the roadside, you..."
Before Tina could finish her worried question, Vincent answered directly, "Don't worry about me, I eat that too."
Hearing this, Tina immediately became excited, "Really? That's great."
Vincent, sitting in the driver's seat, could see the curve of Tina's profile from his angle.
The streetlights cast a soft yellow light on Tina's face.
For a moment, whether it was the angle or something else, he thought her profile looked a lot like Jessica's.
He stared blankly until the red light turned green, and he still hadn't reacted.
Seeing Vincent not moving the car for a while, Tina was puzzled.
"The light's green, we can go."
Tina said as she turned to look at Vincent.
In that instant, Tina and Vincent's gazes met unexpectedly.
Looking into his deep and serious gaze, Tina felt her heart being drawn in.
Her heart pounded wildly, and her face immediately flushed with heat.
She was flustered and didn't know how to respond, so she quickly turned her head.
At that moment, Vincent's voice came to her ears, "Sorry, I hope I didn't come off too forward."
"It's okay." Tina's voice was as soft as possible.
She could only respond in the lightest voice, fearing he would hear her nervousness and trembling otherwise.
After turning a corner, Vincent parked the car.
Tina and Vincent walked towards the barbecue street they had just passed.
"Which one do you want to try?" he asked proactively.
Tina looked around and immediately spotted the first place she had seen.
"A bit further up, that's the one I saw earlier. It smells really good." Tina excitedly pointed.
Seeing her lively and happy demeanor, Vincent smiled, "I thought you'd just pick any place, but you remembered the first one you saw."
"Of course, I'm quite stubborn. I tend to stick with things I liked at first sight and those I've gotten used to."
