Chapter 625 Quentin's Concern 2

"Quentin, get off me, you jerk!"

Grace's resistance had come too late.

No matter how hard she hit him, Quentin held her like a fortress, trapping her in his arms.

With a single hand, he lifted her effortlessly, tilting her head back to surrender to his commanding kiss.

Soon, a potent bitterness enveloped her tongue as the medicine began to dissolve gradually. The taste was unbearable, causing Grace's face to contort in distaste, her heart heavy with a deep, unshakable pain.

"Let go, let go of me!"

She flailed her small hands, hitting him randomly.

Quentin took her hands, leaning in until all the medicine had dissolved in her mouth.

Finally, he lowered his head and kissed her lips again before releasing her with satisfaction.

"Quentin, you pervert!"

Grace glared at him with wide, angry eyes.

She was furious to the extreme.

But Quentin was indifferent, "Grace, the medicine may be bitter, but you are sweet."

Grace angrily pulled the blanket over herself, refusing to face him any longer.

At that moment, Quentin walked out the door.

Willie was waiting outside.

Just as Quentin leaned in to kiss Grace, Willie had wisely made his exit from the room.

Seeing Quentin come out, he immediately walked up respectfully, "Mr. Taft."

"Take the contract to Mr. Ward now and tell him I agree to his terms."

"Mr. Taft, you agreed?"

Willie was completely shocked.

If Quentin hadn't said it himself, Willie wouldn't have believed it.

"Yes."

Compared to Willie's surprise, Quentin was exceptionally calm.

"Mr. Taft, if the profit margin drops by 0.1%, we'll lose at least two million dollars," Willie tried to persuade.

Quentin listened, his face cold and expressionless.

"Go ahead, do as I said."

After hesitating for a long time and seeing that Quentin had made up his mind, Willie nodded, "Yes, Mr. Taft."

As he got into the elevator, a thought suddenly occurred to Willie.

'This project is led by Quentin, who has invested a lot of time and effort to secure this deal.'

'The negotiations with Bruce Ward have been almost a sure thing; with Quentin's capabilities, there should have been no problem.'

'But now, Quentin has just given up.'

'Could it be because of Grace?'

'Is it because she is sick and Quentin wants to stay by her side, so he compromised on this project?'

But soon, Willie shook his head.

Quentin had a fiancée.

And she was from the Stewart family.

Moreover, Quentin's mother, Ruby Taft, liked Caroline very much. If she knew Quentin had another lover, affecting the Taft family's engagement with the Stewart family, she would never allow it.

Willie didn't dare to think further and quickened his pace to handle his tasks.

As soon as Quentin left, a nurse entered the ward.

"Did you take the medicine?" the nurse asked.

Grace nodded, "I did, but can I just get injections instead of taking the medicine?"

The nurse smiled and said, "I'm afraid that's not possible. Your medicine was prescribed by Dr. Fields; you need to take it for at least three days."

"Alright."

Feeling defeated, Grace was a bit downcast.

The nurse then noticed her hand and asked in confusion, "How did you get a burn on your hand? You're not fully recovered yet; you need to take good care of yourself."

"I burned it while getting water."

The nurse quickly replied, "I see. Your boyfriend is considerate. Dr. Fields instructed that you should drink warm water when you wake up, so he kept pouring a cup of water and letting it cool. When it got cold, he would pour another one to cool down."

"So that you could drink water at the right temperature as soon as you woke up."

A flutter of nervousness washed over Grace, genuinely catching her off guard.

Just as Grace finished chatting with the nurse, the door suddenly opened, and Quentin walked in with his long legs.

Seeing him, Grace was visibly stunned.

Willie had just hurriedly come to find him, so there must have been important work to handle.

Given Quentin's character, he should have left by now.

But Quentin had come back.

Seeing Quentin return, the nurse tactfully said, "Alright, since your boyfriend is back, I won't disturb you."

The room fell silent.

Quentin and Grace looked at each other, but neither spoke.

Time slipped by quietly.

Suddenly, a sound broke the silence in the ward.

Grace clutched her stomach, feeling extremely embarrassed.

She hadn't expected her stomach to growl.

She had been asleep since the morning and hadn't eaten all day. It was no wonder she was hungry.

"Hungry?"

Quentin walked over.

Grace lowered her head, unwilling to respond.

Quentin immediately made a call, "You can bring the food now!"

In less than ten minutes, a table full of delicious food was presented in front of Grace.

"Dig in!" With a fork in hand, Quentin was the first to start eating.

Grace looked at him but didn't move her fork.

She was conflicted, resisting him on one hand, but on the other, did she have to eat what he had prepared?

As if reading her thoughts, Quentin remarked, "You need to eat to have the energy to fight me. If you faint from hunger, aren't you afraid I'll do whatever I want and make love with you?"

Grace bit her lip, infuriated by his words, "Quentin, do you have any empathy? I'm a patient right now."

"Now you know you're a patient? You were so stubborn when getting water, not even calling me for help."

He was angry about that.

She could have easily solved the problem by calling him, but she chose to push him away.

"Grace, you better understand this: I am your only support right now. Without me, no one can protect you."

"And by the way, I have no humanity. I'm heartless, selfish, and ruthless. I never consider others' feelings, especially yours. If you faint from hunger, I'll just carry you back right now."

Hearing his words, Grace's face instantly turned pale.

She gripped the fork, her heart heavy with humiliation, and shakily brought the soup to her mouth.

One bite, two bites.

Despite its terrible flavor, she went ahead and ate two bowls of soup.

She couldn't collapse.

She couldn't let him do whatever he wanted.

After finishing the meal, Quentin placed the prepared fruit in front of her and instructed, "Eat these too."

Just as Grace was about to refuse, he sternly insisted, "No refusals."

Grace knew she was in a weak position.

Under his intense gaze, she finally forced herself to pick up the last piece of fruit and put it in her mouth.

Suddenly, Quentin walked over and remarked coolly, "You are a heartless woman. You ate everything and didn't even think to leave me a piece of fruit."

Grace was helpless.

Wasn't he the one who harshly told her to eat everything?

Quentin's mood was unpredictable.

As Grace was thinking, Quentin suddenly leaned in and bit the apple she had just put in her mouth, before she could even take a bite.
