Chapter 686 Quentin Got Jealous 1
How was that possible?
She had been an actress in the entertainment industry for several years, but how could she be afraid of a newcomer like him?
"Give me your phone," she suddenly said.
"What for?"
"Scared?" Grace raised an eyebrow defiantly at him.
Mark took out his phone and handed it over with a smile.
"What's there to be scared of?"
Grace immediately typed his name into the phone.
The screen then switched to a Wikipedia page.
She handed it back to him, "You're five years younger than me. Do you think I'd be afraid of a kid?"
"What?" Mark was stunned, "Say that again, who's a kid?"
"You're so much younger than me, of course, you're a kid in my eyes!"
Mark glared at her, fuming.
"Grace, don't forget, you're going to be playing my love interest."
"In the end, I'll prove to you that I'm a grown man, not a kid."
"Grace, just wait and see!"
With that, he turned and left.
He left behind a dashing figure.
After tidying up, Grace went to the theater.
Because Mark had been absent for a few days, today's scenes were mainly reshoots of their parts.
Their first scene together didn't go well.
Grace looked at him, unable to find the right state.
"Grace, soften your gaze, make it more affectionate."
"Not like that, it's too stiff."
Elton was sweating profusely on the side.
He even went on-site to demonstrate.
But Grace just wasn't in the right state today, and after several rounds, she was getting anxious.
In the end, even Elton lost his patience.
"Grace, take a break."
"I'll shoot Marlon and Beth's scenes first."
Grace nodded, "Okay, thank you, Mr. Krueger. I'll adjust my state as soon as possible."
As soon as she finished speaking, Mark said, "Mr. Krueger, leave her to me. Rest assured, I'll bring you a qualified Grace."
Before she knew it, he had grabbed her and pulled her out.
"Mark, slow down, I'm wearing high heels, I can't keep up."
Mark stopped and looked at her feet.
Without a word, he picked her up and continued running.
"Mark, put me down."
"We're on set, everyone's watching us," Grace was frantic.
Mark didn't care at all. He smirked, "What's there to be afraid of? We're playing a couple, everyone will just think I'm helping you rehearse."
"But we're not!"
"As long as they think we are!"
Mark was strong and carried her to a room in one go.
"Why did you bring me here?" Grace was puzzled.
Mark poured her a glass of red wine and answered, "To help you in the right state."
"How can I in state here?"
"Who says you can't?" As soon as he finished speaking, Mark's eyes suddenly became incredibly tender.
In that moment, his eyes sparkled like stars, filled with affection, looking at her with deep emotion.
He didn't say a word, just looked at her.
But those eyes seemed to speak, brimming with a myriad of unspoken sentiments. The room was very quiet.
So quiet that their breathing and heartbeats were audible.
After a few minutes of staring at each other, Mark finally spoke softly.
"Grace, take a deep breath, relax."
"Don't be afraid, I'm not a monster, I'm not a demon."
"Relax, now, I'm going to ask you a question, and I hope you'll answer honestly. Do you have someone you like?"
Maybe it was his gentle voice, or maybe it was his friendly personality that made Grace feel unprecedentedly relaxed.
So, she let her guard down and nodded.
"Good, Grace, then think about the person you like."
"When you look at him, how do you feel? Does your heart race, do you blush, do you feel shy?"
Mark's words brought her thoughts to Quentin.
She had been on set for over ten days and hadn't seen Quentin since.
At first, she felt relaxed and happy.
But for some reason, at night, lying alone in bed, looking at the space beside her, touching the cold sheets that wouldn't warm up, she couldn't help but think of Quentin.
He was always warm, like a fire.
No matter how cold the bed was, it would quickly warm up with him in it.
But she had her pride and dignity.
She couldn't bring herself to say she missed him.
And now, all that longing showed on her face.
"Yes, Grace, that's perfect."
"Your expression and gaze just now were spot on."
"Let's try again, just imagine I'm the person in your heart, okay?"
Grace nodded.
This time, the effect was great, and they passed in one take.
Elton finally had a smile on his face.
From then on, everything went more smoothly.
The last scene was between Marlon and Mark, so Grace changed her clothes and left first.
Linda followed behind, looking puzzled.
Grace knew what she wanted to ask and gave her a warning look.
Just then, Quentin's video call came through.
Since it was on silent, Linda didn't know and kept talking.
"Grace, he was so handsome, don't you think?"
Grace was silent and had a bad feeling.
Sure enough, the next moment, Quentin's displeased voice came through, "Who's handsome? An actor on set?"
Grace quickly denied, "No, Quentin, you're overthinking it. Linda was talking about her son."
"Linda has a son?"
Grace nodded with a straight expression, "Yes!"
After finally finishing the call with Quentin, Linda immediately leaned towards Grace, shocked.
"Grace, you're amazing. When did you know I had a son?"
Grace was stunned for a few minutes.
She opened her eyes wide in disbelief, "Linda, I made that up. Are you saying you really have a son?"
Linda nodded sincerely, "Yes, he's three years old."
"What?" Grace found it hard to believe.
"Linda, you can't scare me like that. I didn't even know you got married, and now you suddenly have a son?"
"Well, it's a long story."
Linda continued, "I should have told you earlier, but I was waiting for the right time. Since you mentioned it today, I decided to come clean."
"Then why have I never seen him?" Grace asked.
"He lives with my mom and is already in preschool. I go back to see him twice a week."
Guessing that Grace might ask about the child's father, Linda took the initiative to explain.
"As for the child's father, I don't want to talk about him right now. Let's just think he's dead."
