Chapter 215 The Misunderstanding is Resolved
"Mm." Jessica nodded in agreement.
Gabriel took her hand. He said gently, "Jessica, I don't want to hide anything from you. That was a woman's voice, but we were at a hospital, not a hotel."
Gabriel explained, "I was injured, and she saved me. She had no family around, so I stayed at the hospital until she was okay."
Gabriel was being honest and clear.
The only thing he didn't mention was her name, Diana.
Jessica finally looked at him, tears streaming down her face.
Seeing her cry, Gabriel panicked. He gently wiped her tears with his thumb and asked, "Why are you crying? Did I not explain it well?"
"No." Jessica shook her head. She replied, "You explained it well, but why didn't you tell me on the phone?"
Jessica revealed, "Do you know how heartbroken I was when I heard a woman's voice in your room? My heart shattered. I couldn't sleep all night."
She added, "I couldn't stop overthinking."
As Jessica spoke, more tears fell.
She remembered how lonely and scared she felt, curled up under the blanket.
He coaxed, "Don't cry, Jessica, don't cry." Her tears broke Gabriel's heart.
He lowered his head and gently kissed her tears away.
He was so gentle, so distressed. How could he possibly have anything going on with another woman?
At that moment, Jessica finally felt relieved. She smiled, a liberated smile.
Seeing her smile, Gabriel's tightly clenched heart finally relaxed.
But thinking about that day, he felt the same pain.
"Jessica." He cupped her face and spoke seriously. "Do you know why I didn't explain on the phone?"
"Hmm?" Jessica responded, confused.
Gabriel lowered his head, his nose touching Jessica's, and spoke softly, "Because I was waiting. I wanted to hear you ask me directly. I wanted to know that you were concerned about me."
He revealed, "So, I kept waiting. But in the end, the call ended, and you never asked."
Gabriel confessed, "Silly, do you know? I really wanted you to ask me confidently, 'Gabriel, why is there a woman's voice in your room late at night?' Then I would have explained everything to you. At least that would prove you love me, that you care about me."
He added, "But you didn't ask anything, so I thought you didn't care."
Saying this, Gabriel felt a weight was lifted off his chest.
After falling in love with her, his thoughts became both simple and complicated.
Jessica reached out and hugged Gabriel tightly, pressing herself against him.
Jessica confessed, "Silly Gabriel, you're the silly one. I love you so much; I care so much. How could I not care?"
Jessica insisted lightly, "So, you're the silly one."
"Okay, I'm the silly one, and Jessica is adorable," Gabriel replied then grabbed her hand and kissed it hard.
Seeing her soft, pink lips and remembering the kiss they didn't finish, Gabriel grabbed the back of her head.
"Jessica," he looked at her and called her name gently.
"Hmm?" Jessica responded and looked at him in confusion.
Gabriel said affectionately, "I want to kiss you. Can I?"
He asked, his eyes gentle, seriously seeking her permission.
Jessica's face got a bit hot, but this time, she didn't shy away or retreat.
"No," Jessica suddenly said.
Gabriel's expression froze, looking a bit upset.
But the next moment, her soft hands wrapped around his neck, pulling his head down.
Then, without warning, her lips met his.
Gabriel's mind went blank.
It took him a moment to react, and then excitement surged through him like a tidal wave.
So, this was her "No." She meant she wanted to kiss him first.
That's what she meant, right? He didn't misunderstand.
Gabriel's heart felt as sweet as honey; his Jessica always managed to surprise him.
Jessica's kiss was a bit awkward and clumsy.
But Gabriel didn't care. His mind was filled with one thought, 'Jessica kissed me. She kissed me first.'
Just as Gabriel was lost in the moment, her lips suddenly left his.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
Jessica looked at him, a bit flustered, like a little rabbit.
Jessica remarked shyly, "I don't have much experience. I don't think I kiss as well as you."
She didn't just have little experience; in fact, all her experience was with him.
Jessica blushed heavily.
She asked herself, 'How did you have the courage to say something so embarrassing?'
'Jessica, you're so embarrassing,' she thought to herself.
Gabriel, however, smiled slowly. His lips curved into a charming smile, clearly in very good spirits.
Gabriel said sweetly, "Then let me teach you."
With that, he grabbed Jessica's head and kissed her deeply.
The atmosphere grew increasingly intense.
Jessica clutched his clothes, tilting her head back, unable to think of anything, just following his lead, sinking deeper and deeper.
After the kiss, Jessica leaned against him, breathing lightly.
In contrast, Gabriel's breath was still steady.
Gabriel leaned close to her ear, and whispered, "Do it a few more times, and you won't be this tired."
Jessica's face grew even hotter.
Once her breathing steadied and she left his embrace, Jessica realized an important issue.
Jessica questioned, "Where were you hurt? Why didn't you tell me?"
Gabriel explained,"It was during those two days we lost contact. I was actually in the hospital recovering."
Hearing this, Jessica instantly panicked. She scolded him gently, "Gabriel, why didn't you tell me you were injured? Don't you know I would worry?"
"Because I was afraid you'd worry," Gabriel replied as he held her hand, his face full of concern.
Jessica lectured him, "But not telling me made me worry even more. You didn't answer my calls for almost two days. I thought something terrible had happened to you. You scared me to death, do you know that?"
She said sternly, "I warn you, no matter what happens in the future, you can't hide anything from me. If I find out, I definitely won't forgive you."
Gabriel agreed, "Okay, I won't hide anything from you."
Looking into her eyes, Gabriel's gaze softened, his demeanor becoming quite serious.
Gabriel thought, 'I'm sorry, Jessica. Please forgive me for not telling you her name. I was a coward; I was scared.'
Jessica, still shaken, took a while to recover.
She reached out to unbutton Gabriel's shirt. She insisted, "Where were you hurt? Have you recovered? Let me see."
