Chapter 219 Visiting Vincent, She Was Overwhelmed

"Captain Lucas said he'd head back back to the station." Brian replied.

Jessica replied, "Alright, I'll go see him."

Brian hung up and noticed Vincent staring at him.

Not wanting to waste time, he quickly explained, "Captain Lucas, that was Ms. Morgan. She's coming to see you."

"Okay," Vincent replied and nodded in acknowledgment.

After a brief pause, he added, "You go pick her up yourself."

"Captain, our station's easy to find. You think Ms. Morgan might get lost?"

Seeing Vincent's look, Brian quickly changed his tone, and said, "Alright, I'm on it."

Brian grabbed another car and called Jessica, "Ms. Morgan, stay put at the hospital. I'll come get you."

Jessica agreed, "Okay."

A few minutes later, Brian picked up Jessica.

As soon as she got in, Brian got another call.

"Captain Lucas was taken home by his family. Bring Ms. Morgan to his house," the voice on the other end said.

Brian replied, "Got it."

Jessica, exhausted from taking care of Gabriel, soon fell asleep in the car.

When she woke up, they were on a winding mountain road. It felt strange.

Though it seemed odd, she didn't say anything.

After a few more minutes, Jessica felt uneasy, and asked, "Brian, is this the way to the station? It doesn't look familiar."

Brian slapped his forehead as he explained, "Ms. Morgan, I forgot to tell you while you were asleep. Captain Lucas was taken home by his family. If you want to see him, we need to go to his house."

His house?

Jessica felt it was a bit inappropriate to visit unannounced.

Just as she was about to speak, Brian stopped the car and announced, "Ms. Morgan, we're here."

Brian got out, walked around, and opened the door for Jessica.

Jessica stepped out and was stunned by the sight.

The mansion before her was luxurious but not gaudy. It was grand and understated, with a serene and elegant charm.

Still, visiting his home felt a bit inappropriate.

But Brian had already grabbed her things and was enthusiastically calling her inside, "Ms. Morgan, Captain Lucas is inside. I'll take you in."

Jessica agreed helplessly, "Okay."

At this point, she was already at Vincent's doorstep. It would be rude not to go in.

As soon as she entered the hall, Jessica was taken aback.

In the living room, several women were sitting. When they saw Jessica, all eyes turned to her.

Especially the older lady, who looked elegant and had a warm smile that made Jessica feel comfortable, asking, "Brian, who is this young lady?"

She was so excited she quickly put down her teacup, not even noticing a few drops spilling out.

All her attention was on Jessica.

Jessica's long, waterfall-like hair made her look gentle and quiet, especially her big, clear eyes. And her skin was flawless, her appearance top-notch.

The older lady liked her instantly. She was Vincent's mother, Alexis Wilson's.

Brian, knowing exactly what was going through her mind, quickly explained, "This is Jessica, Captain Lucas's friend. She came to visit him after hearing about his injury."

"Oh," Alexis nodded in understanding, her eyes dimming a bit before lighting up again. She offered, "Ms. Morgan, if you don't mind, have some coffee in the living room. I'll have someone call Vincent."

Jessica didn't know how to refuse, so she nodded and gently sat on a sofa.

Alexis remarked, "Ms. Morgan, don't be so formal. What kind of coffee do you like? I'll have someone prepare it."

Jessica replied, "Mrs. Lucas, hot coffee will be fine."

Alexis nodded and immediately looked at the butler, then instructed, "Go make a cup of hot coffee for Ms. Morgan."

Jessica said politely, "Mrs. Lucas, thank you for the trouble."

At that moment, Madison quickly ran upstairs.

In her haste, she didn't knock and directly pushed open the door, calling out, "Vincent."

She found Vincent changing into a shirt, with the buttons still undone.

Realizing her mistake, she quickly turned around.

Vincent had a compulsion; he didn't allow anyone to see him change clothes, even if it was just buttoning up. He had to be fully dressed, neat, and tidy.

She had complained about this to Alexis and Ennifer more than once.

Ennifer had pointed at her head and chided, "Madison, you're too picky. He wants to save his body for his future wife. What are you jealous of?"

Madison said playfully, "Vincent has such a good body. I just want to admire it."

Ennifer retorted, "Admire your own husband's body."

Madison rebutted, "True, I'll find a man even more handsome and fit than Vincent."

As Madison was lost in thought, then a voice suddenly came from behind.

"Rushing in without knocking, lucky it's me. What if it were someone else?" Vincent scolded, he already buttoned up his shirt.

Madison turned around, sticking out her tongue playfully, and said, "Vincent, I didn't mean to this time. I was too anxious. I came in for your sake."

"For my sake?" Vincent raised an eyebrow while he questioned, "What's the matter?"

"That girl you picked up on the mountain that day, she's..." Madison stammered in her haste.

"You mean Jessica is here?" Vincent quickly caught on.

Madison nodded immediately, and informed, "Yes, Jessica is here. She came to our house to visit you. Mother invited her to the living room for coffee. Vincent, you should have seen Mother's expression, she..."

Before she could finish, Vincent was already striding downstairs.

Watching Vincent's eager figure, Madison couldn't help but mutter, "You said you didn't like Jessica."

She wondered if Vincent would still be so cold once he had a wife.

When Vincent came downstairs, Jessica was in the living room having coffee with Alexis.

Alexis's smile was warm and gentle, and she hadn't stopped smiling since Jessica walked in.

Alexis insisted, "Jessica, it's just about lunchtime. Tell me what you like, and I'll have someone make it for you. Stay for lunch before you go."

Jessica was flattered and couldn't bear to refuse such a kind woman.

At that moment, Vincent walked up behind Jessica, took the cup from her hand, and gently placed it on the table.

Then Vincent looked at Alexis, then said, "Mom, I'll take her upstairs.  Enjoy your coffee."

With that, he took Jessica's hand and led her upstairs.
