Chapter 791 Grace's High Fever 2
Uma took out her phone and immediately opened Facebook, scrolling to Vanessa's profile.
However, when Uma discovered that Vanessa's Facebook was set to only show posts from the past three days, she was devastated.
Yesterday was within the three-day window, but today it had already passed.
She felt so hopeless right now!
"What's wrong?" Quentin asked, frowning after not seeing anything for a while.
"Nothing, Mr. Taft. I just have too many friends on Facebook, and I didn't change Ms. Lawson's note, so it's a bit hard to find."
"No rush, take your time."
Judging by Quentin's tone, it seemed like they had to see it today.
Uma was extremely anxious and immediately sent Vanessa a message. Fortunately, Vanessa replied right away: [What? Mr. Taft wants to see pictures of my baby? What's going on?]
[Vanessa, please help me out. Open up your Facebook viewing permissions, and I'll explain everything to you later.]
[Okay, it's done,] Vanessa replied.
Uma quickly found the post and respectfully handed her phone over. "Mr. Taft, I found it. Please take a look."
"Alright!"
Quentin took the phone, and when he saw the soft, pink little bundle in the picture, his anger immediately dissipated, and he became extremely gentle.
At that moment, a thought suddenly popped into his mind: If Grace and he had a daughter, she would definitely be even more beautiful and adorable!
Thinking of this, a wave of excitement and urgency washed over him.
If they had a baby, Grace loved babies so much, she wouldn't stay with him?
He knew he was being despicable.
But if it meant Grace would willingly stay by his side, he was willing to try anything.
Quentin stared at the photo for a long time before handing the phone back.
At that point, his demeanor had become much more approachable.
"Let's start the work report!"
"Yes, Mr. Taft."
After the report, Uma anxiously awaited a reprimand.
Instead, he simply closed the folder and, in a rare moment, gave a compliment, "Good job, keep up the good work!"
Uma was so happy she could hardly contain her excitement. "Yes, Mr. Taft, I will work even harder. I won't disturb you any longer; I'll get back to work."
"Wait!" Quentin suddenly called out.
She immediately turned around, more alert. "Mr. Taft, do you have any other instructions?"
"Go get Willie for me."
Willie was very efficient and came in right away.
Quentin looked at him. "Ms. Lawson from the design department had a baby. Go visit her at the hospital on my behalf, and bring some nice things and some gifts."
"Yes, Mr. Taft, I'll go right away."
"And don't do it in the company's name, do it in my name."
As they left Quentin's office, Quentin and Uma exchanged a look and both let out a big sigh of relief.
Willie's tense heart relaxed a bit.
Standing outside, he had been wondering why Quentin was being so unusually kind and quiet this time.
It turned out they had been talking about Vanessa's baby.
This baby had managed to calm Quentin's anger. Otherwise, Quentin would have called in many more leaders for individual work reports.
If that had happened, everyone would have been on edge.
Willie immediately went to the hospital, and coincidentally, Vanessa was staying at the same hospital as Grace.
Carrying a large bag of nutritional supplements and gifts, Willie went in.
Vanessa was both happy and touched, extremely excited.
But she was also very puzzled. "By the way, Willie, I remember Mr. Taft never cared about these things before. Why is he so concerned about my baby this time, even sending so many things in his name?"
Willie was puzzled too.
Many women at the Taft Group had babies, and there were many executives, but Quentin had never shown such concern before.
Could it be...
Thinking of something, Willie suddenly felt a wave of worry.
There was only one possibility: Quentin also wanted a baby.
But if Quentin wanted a baby, it wouldn't be Caroline's. It would definitely be Grace's baby.
What if Caroline found out in the future?
This series of events made Willie helpless just thinking about it.
But he couldn't decide anything; all he could do was follow Quentin's instructions.
With Mark's care, Grace had been lying in bed all day.
Grace even felt like a useless person.
Except for going to the bathroom, which she had to do herself, Mark insisted on doing everything else for her.
Grace drank water, ate fruit, and watched TV.
Mark took care of everything meticulously.
Fortunately, Grace's condition remained stable, with no recurring high fever.
By noon, after her fever had subsided, she was in good spirits and didn't relapse.
Linda and Susan hurried over together at noon.
They were both extremely worried, especially Susan, who insisted on staying by Grace's side.
As for Linda, it took a lot of convincing from Grace to get her to go back to work.
Before leaving, Linda instructed Susan to do nothing but take good care of Grace for the next few days.
With their company, Grace suddenly felt that time passed quickly.
She thought carefully and realized she hadn't thought about Quentin for a whole day.
So, as long as enough time passed, she could forget Quentin.
Since she had decided to leave Quentin's life, Grace couldn't think about him anymore.
'Grace, you can do it!' She thought to herself.
In the evening, feeling much better, Mark had some of her favorite food delivered.
Seeing it was hot pot, Grace was particularly surprised. "Hot pot? Mark, you're amazing. How did you get this?"
"As long as you like it, I'll find a way."
"But can Grace eat hot pot?" Susan was a bit worried.
Mark nodded. "Since I had it brought in, she can eat it. I had all the ingredients specially selected; they're all things you can eat."
"The broth is a special tomato and rich soup base, which is mild. You can eat it. The sauces are also specially prepared for you."
Mark explained everything gently.
Grace was at a loss for words to express her gratitude.
She blinked and looked at him seriously. "Mark, from now on, you are my friend. If you ever need help, I will be there for you and repay your kindness."
Mark immediately smiled and ruffled her hair. "Eat up. Besides, I hope to stay famous for a few more years and never need that kind of help."
"Okay." Grace smiled and nodded in agreement.
However, no one knew that this scene was entirely witnessed by Quentin outside the ward.
