Chapter 742 Exposing the True Face 1

"With such a blurry image, can you tell it's him?" James asked.

"That's the building invested by the Taft Group, and it's not officially open yet. The only person who could be up there now is him," Caroline explained.

"Whether it is or not, you don't need to be concerned. I've said it before, from now on, the Stewart family has nothing to do with the Taft family."

"Dad," Caroline looked at him in distress, "I'm your only daughter, do you really have to push me like this?"

"It's precisely because you're my only daughter that I can't just watch you fall for Quentin. Caroline, I've already compromised by not making you go on blind dates immediately, but marrying Quentin is absolutely out of the question."

James strode away, his posture resolute.

Caroline didn't even have a chance to plead or cry.

"Dad, I'll fight you to the end. I believe one day you'll change your mind."

In the end, Caroline could only shout at his retreating figure.

After getting into the car, James instructed his assistant, "Have someone keep an eye on Caroline these days. Make sure she doesn't do anything reckless."

"Mr. Stewart, are you worried Ms. Stewart might do something to Ms. Morgan?"

"She's been spoiled by me since she was a child and is quite willful. Quentin is far more complex than he appears. He took over the Taft Group from Ruby right after graduation and has managed it exceptionally well at such a young age. His methods are definitely not simple."

"Grace is his lover now. If anything happens, I'm afraid he'll blame Caroline."

The assistant nodded, "Mr. Stewart, rest assured. I'll make the arrangements. You really care about Ms. Stewart."

"But Ms. Stewart was born into privilege and has always had a smooth life. This time, she suffered a great deal at the Taft family. Aren't you going to seek justice for her?"

James's eyes immediately became profoundly deep.

He let out a cold snort, his voice icy, "How could I not?"

"I'm just considering the business dealings with the Taft Group. Our fortunes are intertwined."

"Quentin hurt Caroline, and it's not something that can be easily repaid. I'm not in a hurry; we have plenty of time to deal with this slowly."

That night, Grace was sleeping soundly.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

Seeing it was an unknown number, Quentin hung up without thinking.

But as soon as he hung up, the phone rang again.

"Whose call is it?" she asked.

"Not sure, an unknown number. Probably nothing important."

"Let me see."

As she spoke, she got up and glanced at the screen.

The number seemed somewhat familiar to her.

"Quentin, give me the phone. Maybe it's something important."

As soon as she pressed the answer button, Beth's panicked and extremely nervous voice came through, "Grace, it's me, Beth."

"You were right about everything. I've discovered his true nature."

"I'm in a very dangerous situation now. Please, I beg you, save me."

Just as she said this, Beth's eyes suddenly widened.

Marlon, who had been drunk, suddenly opened his eyes on the bed, staring at her like a wolf.

Marlon's voice was filled with terror, "Honey, who are you calling? Why are you sneaking around behind my back?"

"No one."

Beth immediately hid the phone behind her back, her heart trembling as she answered.

With her hand behind her, she quickly hung up the call.

Then Beth deleted the call record.

"How could it be? I heard you talking to someone."

Marlon, rubbing his drunken head, staggered towards her.

Beth was scared, but she tried hard to appear calm and natural.

Reaching out, she handed the phone to Marlon, "If you don't believe me, check it yourself."

Marlon took the phone and checked all the call records.

Not just for that day, but for the past few days, he checked everything thoroughly.

After confirming that she had only called him and her agent, he put the phone down.

But Marlon's eyes were already filled with gloom.

He reached out and pulled Beth onto himself.

At the same time, his alcohol-laden breath approached her.

Beth wanted to endure it, but she couldn't, so she had to dodge.

"Honey, you used to love it when I kissed you. What's wrong today?"

Marlon deliberately grabbed her head, forcing her to face him.

Beth's heart was in extreme pain, but to avoid arousing his suspicion, she forced a smile and acted.

"Honey, you misunderstood. You drank a lot today, and the smell is making me uncomfortable."

"I don't know why, but the smell makes me feel dizzy and nauseous."

Hearing this, Marlon immediately reached out to touch her head. "Are you catching a cold?"

"Maybe a little."

"Then don't look at your phone, get some rest."

With that, Marlon took her phone away.

Then he helped her to bed and tucked her in.

"Honey, take a shower and rest early, too. My head hurts, I'll sleep first."

"Okay."

Ten minutes later, Beth closed her eyes, pretending to be deeply asleep.

Marlon's previously hazy eyes suddenly became clear.

His sinister gaze fell on Beth's face, and his fists clenched tightly.

'Beth, since you know everything, don't blame me. Anyone who stands in the way of my plans must die.' Marlon thought.

Then he went to the balcony to make a call: "Get ready, and wait for my orders."

On the bed, Beth suddenly opened her eyes.

She stared coldly at his back.

Under the covers, her fists were clenched tightly.

Marlon, that bastard, he really had a scheme.

But she didn't know what his next plan was.

To deal with Grace, he was really going all out.

'Marlon, I won't let you succeed.' Beth thought to herself.

Seeing him turn back, she immediately closed her eyes again.

A few minutes later, possibly after taking a shower, Marlon lay down beside her.

Beth felt extremely uncomfortable, but no matter how much it hurt inside, she endured it.

The next morning.

Her first reaction was to look for her phone.

She searched the entire bed but couldn't find it.

At that moment, Marlon came in with a bowl of porridge.

Seeing her standing on the bed with her hair in a mess, he asked, "Honey, what are you doing? Why aren't you lying down?"

"My phone is missing."

He smiled and gently explained, "Your phone? You're sick now, so it's not good for you to use it. You need to rest. I'll give it back when you're better."

"But I'm bored without my phone. I promise I'll only use it for a little while."

Marlon's voice suddenly turned cold.

His expression became extremely dark. "Beth, you're very sick. You must listen to me."
