Chapter 362 Gabriel Found Jessica
Jessica stared at her phone, completely floored by the news. Her mind was racing with questions and confusion.
Chelsea? Henry? How did she end up engaged to the Loomis family out of nowhere?
Back when the Haugen Group invested in the Walton Group, Jessica was sure Chelsea and Gabriel were a done deal.
But now? Chelsea's marrying into the Loomis family? That meant Gabriel's off the hook.
Realizing this, Jessica was so happy she couldn't even find the words.
Jessica placed her hand on her belly, her voice filled with excitement as she said, "Babies, guess what? Your daddy's coming back for us. He didn't leave us, and soon we'll all be together. When he comes, we'll go home together, okay?"
She was so happy that tears started streaming down her face, and she didn't even notice. Suddenly, a tissue appeared in front of her. Jessica hesitated for a moment before taking it, realizing it was from David.
"I thought you'd never take it and just keep avoiding me," David said, sounding a bit sad.
Wiping her tears, Jessica looked up at him with a smile. "Thanks for the tissue."
"Why are you crying? Something sad happened?" David asked.
Jessica shook her head. "Last time, yeah, but not this time. These are happy tears. My fiancé's coming to get me, and we'll be together soon."
"Fiancé?" David looked at her, stunned.
"Yeah, we had to be apart for a while, but things have changed. We're getting married soon. I'll be leaving here. David, I hope you find your true love too."
Just as Jessica finished speaking, her phone rang. "Dr. Morgan, hurry, it's almost your turn for the ultrasound."
"Okay, I'm coming."
Today was her check-up day, and since it was a 4D ultrasound, there were a lot of people waiting, so Jessica worked downstairs for a bit to pass the time.
In the exam room, Jessica lay down, feeling a surge of excitement at the thought of seeing her babies today. Especially since there were two of them, she was doubly excited.
However, the little ones seemed uncooperative today. Jessica had been lying there for half an hour, but neither baby showed their face. One baby covered its face with its hands, only showing two tiny fingers. The other baby was even cuter, moving around but not showing its face.
At first, Jessica was worried something was wrong, which was why the check-up was taking so long. But when Dr. Faye explained the situation, Jessica couldn't help but laugh.
"Maybe the babies are just a bit shy. How about you go eat something sweet to coax them, and then come back later."
"Okay." Jessica smiled and thanked her, then went out.
She remembered she had some chocolate in her bag from a few days ago, so she planned to go back and get it. But as she reached the door, she heard voices from inside: "Dr. Morgan is pregnant? I didn't notice at all."
"Can't blame you, she hid it really well. I didn't notice either."
"Yeah, it's winter after all. No wonder she always wore those super loose clothes, and she always avoided us when changing."
A few people were chatting, and as they talked, the topic shifted to the baby's father.
"Hey, do you think the baby in her belly could be Dr. Olson's?"
"How is that possible? Dr. Morgan has only been here for two months, and Jade just said she went for an ultrasound. It can't be Dr. Olson's."
"So that's why she didn't accept Dr. Olson's confession. Then whose baby could it be?"
Jessica pushed the door open and walked in. "I've always respected everyone at work because you are all my seniors and, I genuinely consider you all as colleagues."
"But discussing me behind my back repeatedly is really not cool, and I can't stand it anymore."
"If you want to know, you can ask me directly, and I will tell you. Yes, I am pregnant, and the baby's father is my fiancé. We had to separate for some reasons before."
"But now, I can soon take the babies to meet him." With that, Jessica picked up her bag and left, certain she would never return to this place again.
Before leaving, Jessica went upstairs to find a girl named Jade. It was then that Jessica realized Jade was a nurse.
"You're Jade, right? I think I don't need to introduce myself," Jessica said directly.
Jade had her hands in her pockets, looking indifferent. "What a joke, I've never seen you before, how would I know you?"
Jessica tilted her head slightly, a hint of a smile on her lips. "Really? But when you spread the news about my pregnancy, you seemed to know everything. I wondered why since we'd never met. Then I heard you liked David."
"I think you resented me because of David, right? But there's no need. I don't like him at all. I'm pregnant and have a fiancé..."
Jade suddenly lashed out, her face contorting with anger as she stepped forward, pointing a trembling finger at Jessica. "You're shameless, pregnant, and still seducing David. If it weren't for you, he would have been with me. What did you say to him? Now he ignores me and wants to cut all ties."
"I warn you, if you keep clinging to him, I will..."
Before Jade could finish, she was suddenly dragged away by two men in black suits. Jessica stood there, puzzled.
Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind, "Ms. Morgan, please turn around."
That voice? Jessica covered her mouth, hardly believing what she heard. It was Gabriel's voice. She was too familiar with it. But how could he be here?
Unable to hold back any longer, Jessica turned around. When she saw him—the person she had been longing for day and night—she was so excited she couldn't say a word, even her hands were trembling.
Did he come? He really came? He came to pick her and their babies up.
Just as she was about to step forward, Gabriel suddenly spoke, his voice incredibly gentle, "Jessica, please don't move. I want to come to you."
