Chapter 327 He Never Believed Her

Patricia covered her face, fuming with anger, but didn't dare to fight back. Danielle strutted away with her assistant, her high heels clicking on the floor.

Jessica didn't head home; she went straight to Gabriel's place. As she was about to arrive, she called Oscar, who came down to meet her right away. They took the elevator up to the top floor.

As they neared the office, Oscar warned, "Ms. Morgan, Mr. Walton's in a bit of a mood today; he's pretty pissed off."

"Why's he mad?"

Oscar replied, "It's about the news of your engagement online. Mr. Walton told the PR department to take it down, but people keep reposting it."

"Got it." Jessica knocked on the door and then pushed it open.

Gabriel was sitting in his chair, facing away from the door, so he didn't see Jessica come in. "Is everything sorted out? Don't tell me it's not," he asked coldly, thinking it was someone from PR or marketing.

Jessica stayed quiet and walked over to him, starting to gently massage his head from behind.

Gabriel suddenly turned around. Seeing Jessica, his cold expression softened into a rare smile. "What brings you here?" he asked, pulling her into his lap.

Jessica kept massaging his head. "Have you been working all day? You must be tired. Let me help you relax."

"Seeing you makes all the tiredness disappear," Gabriel said, holding Jessica while continuing to work.

"Mr. Walton, we have..." Suddenly, people from PR and marketing walked in. They were stunned to see a woman sitting on Gabriel's lap, looking so tender.

"Speak!" Gabriel looked up, his gaze much softer.

"Mr. Walton, the news has been taken down."

"Alright, you can leave now. Close the door behind you."

"Yes, Mr. Walton."

The two quickly left the office and closed the door. Outside, they exchanged glances, as if to say, "Who is that girl sitting on Mr. Walton's lap?"

After massaging Gabriel's head for a while, Jessica noticed his ashtray. She frowned. "Why are you smoking so much? Smoking is bad for your health."

"Alright, I won't smoke when you're around," Gabriel said, kissing Jessica on the forehead.

Instantly, the strong smell of smoke hit her, and Jessica covered her mouth, pushing him away as she ran to the bathroom.

Hearing Jessica retching inside, Gabriel stood outside, looking anxious.

When she finally came out, her face was pale, and she looked much weaker. What surprised her even more was that she had thrown up several times that afternoon.

Finally, Gabriel turned off his computer and took her hand, leading her out. "We're going to the hospital."

"Why are we going to the hospital?"

Gabriel explained, "To see a doctor and find out why you're throwing up so much."

Realizing what he meant, Jessica smiled and gently reassured him, "It's just morning sickness. Many pregnant women experience it. I might be having an early and intense reaction. It's okay. I can endure it for the baby."

Gabriel felt particularly distressed. "Even if it's morning sickness, we should still see if there's a way to make it easier for you."

In the end, Jessica went along with Gabriel to the OB-GYN department.

The doctor smiled and said it was a normal reaction, and that morning sickness meant the baby was doing well and was very active.

Gabriel still asked several times for ways to make it easier for her.

"Dr. Morgan, your boyfriend is so good to you. You're so lucky!" the doctor said with envy.

Gabriel, being praised, felt very pleased and looked particularly gentle.

Neither of them expected to run into Jack on their way out.

Seeing Jessica at the OB-GYN department, Jack immediately rushed over, asking, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Is the baby okay?"

"It's none of your business." Gabriel blocked Jack's approach and said coldly. He then protected Jessica and let her get into the car first.

"Wait for me in the car," Gabriel gently instructed Jessica.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"I'm going to deal with him."

"Don't be impulsive. I'll wait for you in the car."

Then, Gabriel walked towards Jack who was waiting for him in the parking lot. Compared to their last tense encounter, both were much calmer this time.

Gabriel lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and exhaled a white smoke ring as he looked at Jack, saying coldly, "I advise you to go back and tell your mother not to covet anything from the Walton Family, and to stay away from Jessica. Otherwise, you won't need me to act; your mother is no match for mine."

Jack looked at him with a cold smile, saying, "Are you so confident?"

"If you don't believe me, you can try."

Suddenly, Jack nodded. "Alright, I can agree to that."

He added, "I can go back and persuade my mother. My request is simple: as long as Jessica's baby is given to me after birth, I will give up my claim to the Walton Family inheritance."

It was as if Gabriel had heard a funny joke. He sneered and looked at Jack with disdain, "Wishful thinking! Whether it's the Walton Family inheritance or Jessica's baby, I will never give them to you. The baby is very important to Jessica. You'd better give up that idea."

Jack remained calm, looking at him indifferently and asking, "And you? Are you willing to raise a child that isn't yours? Are you sure you'll treat him well? Gabriel, why deceive yourself? Jessica's baby isn't yours. You won't truly care for him. Giving the baby to me is the best choice."

Gabriel looked at him with disdain, saying, "So what? Even if the baby isn't mine, you won't get him."

Jessica, worried that the two might fight again, had come over. But she never expected to hear what she just heard. If she hadn't heard it with her own ears, she would have doubted her hearing.

What did he mean by saying the baby wasn't his?

Jessica stood there, stunned, feeling a sense of chaos. Jack claimed the baby was his, but what about Gabriel? Why didn't he refute it?

Clenching her fists, Jessica kept asking herself. Her mind was blank. After a few minutes, she seemed to realize something and suddenly laughed at herself.

It turned out Gabriel had never trusted her from the beginning. Even now, he thought something had happened between her and Jack, even believing the baby in her womb was Jack's.

What a joke!

It was utterly ridiculous!
