Chapter 812 Grace's Fever Won't Go Down
"Quentin, so this is what you think of me."
"However, you're quite right. Our entertainment industry is indeed like this. So, without you, I have countless choices. Why must I love you?"
"Mark and I are already together. I don't want my boyfriend to have any misunderstandings. So, Mr. Taft, it's really not appropriate for you to appear here anymore."
After saying this, Grace immediately hung up the phone.
She was straightforward and decisive.
She collapsed to the ground, looking utterly devastated.
Thinking about the things he had just said made her heart ache so much it almost spasmed.
Heart-wrenching pain, nothing less.
That day, she didn't know how many tears she had shed or how many times she had felt the pain.
It was as if she was crying out all the tears of her lifetime.
She hadn't eaten all day and seemed to have cried herself into unconsciousness.
When she woke up and opened her eyes, it was already dark outside. She looked at the time; it was already 8 PM.
Groggily rubbing her head, she realized she had a splitting headache.
It seemed she had a fever; her head was burning hot.
She forced herself up and walked to the sofa. When she turned on her phone, she found dozens of missed calls.
The phone rang again; it was Linda calling.
"Hello, Linda!" Grace answered weakly.
"Grace, you finally picked up. Do you know how many times I've called you? By the way, why do you sound so weak? Are you sick?"
"It's nothing, I just woke up!"
"By the way, the production team just notified us that the next episode will be recorded in Aurora City. Get ready; I've already asked Susan to pack your things. You'll leave tonight and start recording early tomorrow morning. I'll be waiting for you in Aurora City."
Grace nodded, "Okay."
Not long after hanging up, Susan arrived.
In about half an hour, Susan had packed everything for her with great efficiency.
An hour later, the two were at the airport, boarding a plane overnight.
By the time they boarded, it was already 11 PM.
As soon as they sat down, Grace closed her eyes.
"Grace, are you okay? Are you feeling unwell? You don't look so good."
"I'm just a bit tired. I'll be fine after some sleep."
"Alright, you rest then. I won't disturb you."
Susan didn't dare say another word.
However, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with Grace.
From the moment they met that evening, Grace had been unusually silent, hardly speaking at all.
Later, at the airport, Grace sat quietly in the waiting area, keeping silent.
Once on the plane, Grace immediately fell asleep.
Under the light, Susan looked closely and noticed that Grace's cheeks were unusually red.
Although she was sleeping, her eyebrows were furrowed as if she were in great pain.
Susan reached out and touched Grace's forehead, and her heart skipped a beat.
Such a high temperature!
How could Grace have such a severe fever?
And she had been enduring it without saying a word.
Worried, Susan quickly rummaged through their belongings. Fortunately, Linda had been thoughtful and reminded her to always carry some common medications.
Now they were really coming in handy.
After preparing everything, Susan poured a cup of warm water and gently called out to Grace.
"Grace, wake up."
"Grace."
After several calls, Grace finally opened her eyes slowly, looking at Susan through sleepy eyes. "What's wrong?"
Susan was so nervous that her voice was tinged with tears, "Grace, do you know you have a fever? And it's very high. I've prepared some medicine; you need to take it right away."
A faint smile appeared on Grace's pale face. "Oh, I know. I already took some fever medicine before we left."
Hearing this, Susan became even more anxious.
How could Grace's head still be so hot after taking fever medicine?
"Grace, why didn't you tell us you had a fever? I'm sorry, it's all my fault for being so careless."
"If we had known you had a fever, Linda would have told the production team, and we could have postponed the trip until you got better."
"It's okay," Grace reassured her. "I've often worked while sick before. I'm not that delicate. I heard the others have already left, so I can't let everyone be affected because of me."
"Don't worry. I took the medicine. After a night's sleep, I might be better by tomorrow morning."
Although Grace said this, Susan was very worried.
When the plane landed, Susan didn't let Grace carry anything.
By the time they reached the hotel, it was already midnight.
Grace quickly took a shower and went to bed.
Fortunately, she hadn't worn makeup that day; otherwise, removing it would have been a hassle.
Because Grace's fever hadn't subsided, Susan was very worried and didn't return to her own room, staying by Grace's side instead.
Susan woke up around five in the morning.
She immediately checked Grace's forehead, and what she felt made her even more anxious.
'What to do? What to do? Grace's fever hasn't gone down; it seems to have gotten worse.' She thought.
Panicked, Susan didn't care that it was the early morning and immediately called Linda.
She called several times but got no answer.
In the end, she had no choice but to call Willie for help.
"Hello, Susan, what's wrong? Why are you calling me at this hour?"
Because of work and Quentin's habit of working late, Willie had gotten used to answering his phone even late at night.
"Willie, what should I do? I'm so worried. Grace has a very high fever. I've been calling Linda, but she hasn't answered."
Willie, who had been sleepy, immediately sat up in bed, wide awake.
"Say that again. What's wrong with Ms. Morgan?"
"Grace has had a fever since we boarded the plane. It's been nine hours now. Grace said she took fever medicine before we left and again before bed, but the fever hasn't gone down."
"Go check on Ms. Morgan right now and see if she responds."
"Okay."
Susan immediately went to bed and called out to Grace.
But no matter how many times Susan called or how hard she shook her, Grace didn't respond.
"Willie, Grace isn't responding. What should I do? Is she in danger?" Susan was already in tears, utterly panicked.
"Calm down. You need to stay calm. Listen to me. Call an ambulance right away and send me your location."
"Okay." Susan nodded vigorously.
On the other end, Willie didn't waste any time and immediately called Quentin.
