Chapter 815 Mark is My Brother

Grace stared blankly at Kenneth in front of her, certain she didn't know him.

She wanted to speak, but the coldness in Kenneth's eyes made her heart tremble.

At that moment, Linda hurriedly arrived.

"Grace, how's Mark?"

"I don't know yet, the doctors are trying to save him," Grace's voice was trembling.

The entire hallway fell into a deep silence.

Kenneth's presence was overwhelming. Though he hadn't said a word since he arrived, his aura was impossible to ignore.

The atmosphere outside the emergency room was suffocating.

Grace felt cold all over, her eyes fixed on the operating room, praying continuously.

She was truly scared.

Afraid that Mark would face a life-threatening situation.

The light in the operating room stayed on, and the longer it stayed on, the more worried she became.

"Linda, what should we do? It's been so long, and there's no news."

"It's all my fault. If Mark hadn't tried to save me, he wouldn't be like this. I caused this. If someone has to suffer, I'd rather it be me."

"Even if I died on that stage, I wouldn't want to drag him down with me!"

Grace was on the verge of collapse, tears streaming down uncontrollably.

Linda could only hold her hand tightly, comforting her non-stop, "Grace, we can't lose our composure. The doctors haven't come out yet; the result might not be as bad as we think."

"Don't overthink it."

Though she said this, she was extremely worried.

And the Kenneth in front of her, though he hadn't spoken since he arrived, gave her a sense of unease.

He must be someone important to Mark.

Judging by his attire and demeanor, his status and position were certainly not ordinary.

If something happened to Mark, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Willie had packed Quentin's things, and the two were already on the plane.

Just as the plane was about to take off, Willie rushed over, "Mr. Taft, something happened to Ms. Morgan. I heard there was a prop malfunction on set, and a swing fell from the air."

Quentin immediately stood up, "What about Grace? Was she taken to the hospital? Where is she now?"

"Mr. Taft, don't worry, I haven't finished. When Ms. Morgan fell, Mr. Stoll rushed to her, so she only suffered minor injuries, but Mr. Stoll is in serious condition and is currently in emergency care."

"And Mr. Powell has already arrived."

Quentin's expression immediately turned tense. "Get there as fast as possible."

Willie knew Quentin was worried that Kenneth might involve Grace because of Mark, which made him very anxious.

So, Willie drove as fast as he could.

However, when they arrived at the hospital, they were a step too late.

The hallway was empty, with Linda and Susan guarded by two bodyguards, not allowed to leave.

Quentin walked towards the bodyguards with a menacing aura, his voice cold as ice, "Move!"

Seeing the bodyguards not budging, he lost his patience and threw two punches.

Then Quentin rushed to Linda's side, "Where's Grace? Where is she now?"

Linda was surprised to see Quentin; she thought they had already left.

"Grace was taken away by that man just now."

"How long ago? Where did they go?" Quentin's voice was sharp.

"About ten minutes ago. I don't know where they went. They wouldn't let Susan and me leave. Mr. Taft, if you feel any guilt towards Grace, please help..."

Before Linda could finish, Quentin grabbed one of the bodyguards by the collar. "Where did Kenneth take Grace?"

"Probably in Mr. Powell's car, parked in the underground garage."

Letting go, Quentin ran out in large strides.

"Linda, Susan, don't go anywhere. Stay here. I'll contact you when Ms. Morgan comes out."

With that, Willie quickly chased after Quentin.

Linda almost stumbled and fell.

Susan immediately reached out to support her, "Linda, are you okay? Let me help you rest."

Linda's face was pale, and she muttered worriedly, "The person who took Grace is Kenneth. Mark and Kenneth are connected?"

"Kenneth?" Susan looked puzzled. "Linda, did we offend someone important?"

Linda nodded weakly, "Kenneth is the head of the Powell family. Though the Powell family isn't as prominent as the Taft family, they are very well-known. They are usually low-key but very powerful."

"Kenneth is exceptionally low-key. Many people have only heard his name; there isn't even a photo of him online."

"I'm really afraid he'll involve Grace because of Mark."

If that happens, Grace will be in serious trouble.

Susan couldn't do much to help, so she could only comfort, "Linda, don't worry too much. Mr. Taft has already gone, hasn't he?"

"It's clear that Mr. Taft is very concerned about Grace. He will definitely save her."

Linda nodded, "I hope so!"

In Kenneth's car.

It was silent.

Grace sat on the left side of the back seat, while Kenneth sat on the far right, with a considerable distance between them.

"Are you related to Mark?"

Grace mustered the courage to look at Kenneth and speak.

Someone who could rush to Mark's side the moment he was injured had to be either a close friend or family.

She guessed it was more likely family.

"My name is Kenneth Powell," he said slowly, then paused and looked at Grace, "I'm Mark's brother."

"What? Say that again?"

At that moment, Grace seriously doubted her hearing.

Mark had told her he had no family left in this world.

With a bitter smile, Kenneth said, "If I'm not mistaken, he never mentioned having a brother."

"Then you and he are..."

Knowing what she wanted to ask, Kenneth continued, "We're not cousins or half-brothers. We're full brothers, same father, same mother."

"It's just that he took our mother's surname, and I took our father's."

Grace finally understood.

She didn't think Kenneth would calmly chat with her.

Thinking of what the doctor had just said, her heart ached.

"The patient might not wake up for a while. Even if he does, he might never walk again. The family should be prepared."

Those words were like a sharp sword piercing her heart.

She couldn't accept it.

So, Kenneth talking to her so calmly wasn't because he wasn't angry. On the contrary, it was the calm before the storm.

Perhaps he had already thought of countless ways to punish her.

And she was calm because she knew she was unforgivable.

So whatever Kenneth decided to do to her, she would accept without complaint.

She had prepared for the worst.

She was ready to pay for everything.

If she had to use her legs as compensation, she wouldn't even flinch.

"Grace, I only have one brother. To me, his life is more important than my own. So do you know how I felt when I heard the doctor's words?"

Kenneth's gaze turned icy.

His hands suddenly gripped Grace's throat. "I had the urge to strangle you!"
