Chapter 478 Compromise

When Gabriel returned, Danielle and Jonah were still waiting in the living room.

"How do you plan to handle this?" Danielle asked directly.

"I've already gathered all the evidence. I'll give them three days. If they agree to leave the country and never return, I can handle this quietly. If they still don't know what's good for them, I won't show any mercy."

After speaking, he looked at Jonah. "If you feel sorry for them, you can plead for them."

"No need," Jonah replied decisively. "They brought this upon themselves. You're totally in charge.

Gabriel nodded.

When he returned to the bedroom, Freddy and Gilbert had just fallen asleep.

Jessica was sitting on the sofa waiting for him.

Seeing him return, Jessica walked over anxiously and worriedly. "Patricia came today and insisted on seeing Dad and Mom. Did something happen?"

"I've officially taken action against Jack. He'll soon be kicked out of the board, but Patricia isn't giving up. She wanted to see Mom and Dad to plead for him."

"But she didn't see them today. I'm afraid she might do something crazy," Jessica said.

"I have some evidence against Jack. Even if Patricia is reckless, she should still consider her son."

Early the next morning, Gabriel received a call from Jack.

"Let's meet," Jack said bluntly.

"We can meet, but understand this: you're the one asking me for a favor. So, you need to come to me and ask for my mercy."

Jack sneered indifferently. "Gabriel, don't act so noble. Even though I've lost, I still have my dignity."

"I know you want my shares. Fine, come see me in person, and I'll transfer them all to you. If you don't come, I'll sell them at a low price on the market, and whoever gets them will depend on luck."

"Where are you?" Gabriel asked through gritted teeth.

Jack was just putting on a show to leave the group with dignity.

Fine, since he had already lost, Gabriel would grant him.

"You'll have to make a trip, Mr. Walton. I'm abroad right now. Come, and I'll sign immediately."

"Wait for me," Gabriel said, hanging up the phone.

Upon learning that Gabriel was going abroad, Jessica felt down all day and was even more worried.

She didn't know if she was overthinking it, but she just felt uneasy.

That night, she packed Gabriel's luggage.

Seeing her taking clothes from the closet and bending over to put them in the suitcase, Gabriel felt very tender. "Why are you packing yourself? Let the servants do it."

"I'm familiar with your clothing preferences. Besides, as your wife, I want to handle these personal matters myself."

Gabriel took her hand and made her sit on the bed.

At the same time, he started folding clothes himself. "You're pregnant. How can I let you do this? If you're worried, just watch me. I'll pack myself."

"If I forget something, just remind me."

"Okay."

Gabriel moved quickly and packed the suitcase in no time.

"What time is your flight tomorrow? I'll take you to the airport," Jessica said.

"Seven o'clock. I'll leave at five. It's too early, you don't need to take me. I'll come back as soon as I finish my business."

"It's okay. I'll go to bed early and still want to see you off."

Gabriel walked over and gently stroked Jessica's belly. "Baby, your mom is a bit stubborn. Help me persuade her, okay? Tell her that even if she doesn't want to sleep in, I do."

Jessica was convinced. "Alright, I won't take you to the airport, but I still want to see you off at the door."

Gabriel was about to speak when Jessica put her hand over his lips. "No refusals. I've already compromised."

"Yes, dear. What I wanted to say is, let's go to bed early."

"Okay."

Gabriel got up before five.

After washing up and getting dressed, it was exactly five o'clock.

He walked to the bed, where Jessica was sleeping soundly.

Last night, the baby had been restless, so she had gotten up to vomit several times and hadn't slept well.

It wasn't until about three o'clock that she finally fell asleep.

Seeing her sleeping so peacefully, Gabriel didn't want to wake her.

He leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on Jessica's forehead. "Honey, you and the baby wait for me at home."

Then, he looked at Freddy and Gilbert.

Unexpectedly, as soon as he looked over, Gilbert opened his eyes.

Seeing him standing by the bed, Gilbert rubbed his eyes. "Daddy, is it morning already? Do I have to get up?"

Gabriel walked over and said affectionately, "No, Gilbert, you can keep sleeping. I have to go on a business trip, so I need to get up early."

Remembering the last time Gabriel went on a business trip, Gilbert felt reluctant. "Will you be gone for a long time?"

Ruffling his hair, Gabriel promised firmly, "No, this time I'll be back soon."

He leaned down and kissed Freddy on the head.

Then he hugged Gilbert and kissed him too.

Gabriel then instructed, "Your mom and Freddy are still sleeping. I won't wake them. You go back to sleep too. I'll go alone, okay?"

"Okay."

Gilbert nodded and kissed Gabriel on the cheek, then snuggled back under the covers.

Hearing some noise, Jessica opened her eyes.

She immediately felt the unoccupied space beside her.

Looking at her phone, she saw it was already five o'clock.

Gilbert opened his eyes and looked over. "Mommy, are you looking for Daddy?"

"Yes, did you talk to him?"

"Daddy just left. He said you were sleeping soundly, so he didn't wake you."

"How long has he been gone?"

"About three minutes."

Jessica immediately got up, threw on a coat, and instructed, "Gilbert, take care of Freddy. I'm going to see your dad off and will be right back."

"Okay, Mommy."

The driver had parked the car outside the gate. Under the dim moonlight, Gabriel got into the car.

Just as they were about to drive off, a familiar voice called out, "Honey, wait!"

Through the hazy morning light, Gabriel couldn't see Jessica.

But he would never mistake her voice.

"Stop the car," Gabriel ordered.

Opening the door, he quickly ran towards the blurry figure.

As they got closer, Jessica rushed over and hugged Gabriel tightly.
