Chapter 680 Crew Crisis 1
"I don't care, I just want to hear you say it." Quentin insisted.
Grace laughed and replied, "Why are you suddenly acting like a kid asking for candy?"
Not hearing his expected answer left Quentin feeling somewhat disappointed when he hung up the phone.
As soon as he walked out of the airport, Willie's car was already waiting outside.
"To the company," Quentin instructed.
Hearing this, Willie was so excited he almost cried. "Mr. Taft, you're finally back to work."
By the time Grace and Linda arrived at the set, it was already evening.
As soon as they put down their luggage, Linda reminded her, "Quick, call Mr. Taft back. He's probably been waiting."
Grace looked at the time; it was already eleven o'clock.
"It's so late, he might already be asleep. I'll call him back tomorrow."
Despite saying that, she still sent him a message after taking a shower and lying in bed.
[I've arrived, all is well.]
Seeing this extremely brief message, Quentin was not satisfied.
But he knew in his heart that she still had deep reservations about him.
It was a thorn in her heart.
Removing it wouldn't be a matter of a day or two.
He could only wait, using time, care, and love to gradually heal her wounds.
[Glad you arrived safely, get some rest.] Quentin responded.
[Okay.]
After putting aside the phone, Grace lay in bed.
Thanks to Quentin's instructions, the director's team took good care of her and assigned her a large room.
More importantly, the night view from this room was nice; through the window, she could clearly see the round moon and a sky full of stars.
The stars twinkled, magnificent.
This sky, vast and boundless.
Just like her career path, she didn't know where it would lead.
Regarding the future, everything was uncertain.
At that moment, she didn't even know if her decision to make a comeback was right or wrong.
But since she had decided, there was no turning back; she could only move forward bravely.
Having arrived a few days ahead of schedule, Grace devoted this time to immersing herself in the script. In the afternoon, Grace would walk around the set to familiarize herself with the location.
The day before filming started, she was half-asleep when she was suddenly awakened by loud shouting outside.
At that moment, the doorbell rang.
It was raining outside, and Linda was wet from the rain.
Seeing her, Linda spoke hurriedly, "Grace, you need to be mentally prepared. I just found out."
"To maintain the mystery of this show, the lead actors were not announced until just now. Beth Trevino and Marlon Hopper have joined the cast. I just found out they are the leads."
"I'm sorry, Grace. If I had known Beth was the lead, I would never have let you play the second female lead."
Compared to Linda's panic, Grace was much calmer.
"I didn't receive any notice. Now that we're here, there's no turning back."
Linda was extremely worried, "I'm not worried about Marlon, but Beth is ruthless. You've had conflicts with her before, and I'm really concerned."
"She's very popular right now. Although we have Mr. Taft's support, it's behind the scenes. On the surface, there's no protection, so many people might not take us seriously."
Grace had already changed her clothes and done her makeup.
She smiled and said, "Linda, don't underestimate ourselves. Although I haven't been in the entertainment industry for years, I've spent time learning acting while traveling."
"In terms of fame, I can't compare to her right now."
"But in terms of acting skills, I can easily outshine her."
Hearing Grace's confident tone, Linda felt reassured.
The once naive and adorable Grace could now stand on her own.
"Grace," Linda said emotionally, hugging her, "Do you know how happy I am to hear you say these things?"
"Seeing you change like this, I'm both excited and relieved. You've really grown up and matured a lot."
"I was worried you couldn't handle it, but in the end, you're the one comforting me."
As she spoke, Linda couldn't help but shed tears.
Grace reached out and wiped her tears.
"Linda, I was immature before, always leaving all the burdens to you. Now I realize how many external challenges you shielded me from."
"But you never complained, always caring for me like a sister. Now it's time for me to be strong and not leave all the troubles for you to handle."
"Don't worry, since I've chosen this path, I'm prepared. Whether it's Beth or anyone else, I'll face them bravely. No matter what challenges I encounter, I'll get through them."
"Don't forget, my dream is to stand on that most dazzling stage again and achieve my goals."
Linda nodded enthusiastically.
"Alright, I'm so happy today. It really feels like watching my little sister grow up."
As she spoke, Linda couldn't help but add, "I really hope to see you get married one day. You're so beautiful; you'd look even more stunning in a wedding dress."
Grace blinked.
Marriage seemed too far away for her.
After getting everything ready, Grace opened the door and stepped out boldly. "In that case, let's go meet them."
"Alright." Linda nodded.
As soon as they arrived at the set, it was already bustling.
Beth was standing next to the director, Elton Krueger, wearing five-inch high heels.
Beth was dressed in a red mini skirt, with fiery red lips and long, slender legs on full display.
From a distance, she looked incredibly hot and sexy.
Although she was chatting with Elton, her body was practically leaning against him.
Linda glanced over and couldn't help but comment, "Even if she sticks to him, it won't help. With her chest, who knows how many layers of padding there are."
Grace couldn't help but laugh at this.
She smiled and asked, "How do you know? It doesn't look like it. I remember she flaunted her chest at an awards ceremony we attended."
Linda explained disdainfully, "It's all an illusion. A chest is like a sponge; you can squeeze it and find something inside. And just because it looks big doesn't mean it's worth much."
"Only genuine materials will suffice; someone like you fits the bill." She added. Grace felt a bit embarrassed. "Why are you bringing me into this?"
"For comparison. Besides, with your figure, many women are envious." Linda continued. "You don't need to stoop to her level. If you dressed like her, she'd be out of the picture."
Grace and Linda chatted and laughed as they got closer to Elton.
Over there, after much small talk, Beth finally got to the point, "Mr. Krueger, I heard the second female lead this time is Grace. Is that true?"
