Chapter 181 Have you two made up?

"Still calling me the bad guy?"

Jessica shook her head like a little rattle. "No way. You're the coolest, the best."

Gabriel finally let her go, satisfied.

He glanced down and noticed her bare feet on the cold floor.

Gabriel immediately scooped her up and carried her to the sofa.

"Why aren't you wearing socks? The floor's freezing; you'll catch a cold," he said, gently rubbing her feet.

Her feet were already cold from standing on the floor.

"Where are your socks?" Gabriel asked while warming her feet.

"In the drawer. I didn't have time to put them on."

"Stay put. I'll get them."

"Okay." Jessica nodded, a faint smile on her lips.

While Gabriel fetched the socks, she sat on the sofa, swinging her feet, feeling happy and content.

Gabriel soon returned with the socks. Jessica reached out to take them, but he knelt down and started putting them on her himself.

"I can do it myself!" Jessica felt a bit embarrassed.

"Don't move. I'll do it."

After breakfast, Gabriel got ready for work.

As he changed his shoes, he said, "I'm heading out."

"Okay!" Jessica nodded, sipping milk and watching TV.

Gabriel felt a bit ignored.

"Jessica," he called out again, "I'm going to work."

"Okay."

Gabriel was silent.

He was sure he was being completely ignored.

He felt very unhappy.

Frowning, he rushed to the sofa.

Without thinking, he pulled Jessica into his arms and kissed her deeply.

It wasn't until Jessica begged for mercy, almost out of breath, her face flushed, that Gabriel reluctantly let her go.

"Aren't you going to work?"

"Yeah, but you were so into the TV you didn't even notice me."

Gabriel looked genuinely hurt.

Jessica smiled, put on her slippers, and said, "Then I'll see you off."

At the door, just as Gabriel was about to leave, his eyes fell on Jessica's lips.

Her lips, freshly kissed, were glistening and pink, looking particularly tempting.

Gabriel's heart stirred.

He pulled Jessica into his arms and kissed her again.

Their breaths mingled, and as the temperature rose, they were reluctant to part.

Suddenly, the door creaked open, and Grace walked in.

Seeing them kissing, she was instantly stunned.

Jessica was also stunned, her face turning red as she looked at Grace.

Even though they were close friends, being caught kissing was still embarrassing. She was shy.

Gabriel knew she was embarrassed, so he pulled Jessica closer and looked at Grace, "She's shy, don't tease her."

Grace blinked, so now she was the bad guy.

She hadn't done anything yet, but Gabriel was already protecting Jessica.

As Gabriel was leaving, he reminded Grace, "She drank a bit last night and isn't feeling well. Please take good care of her for me."

"Mr. Walton, this isn't fair. I haven't slept for two days to make it to the shoot, and now you're pushing me like this. Do you think that's appropriate?"

Gabriel looked over calmly. "The company is looking for a spokesperson for a new shampoo."

The implication was clear.

Grace fell silent.

Was this blatant temptation really okay?

As soon as Gabriel left, Grace was wide awake and rushed to Jessica.

She had been up for two days straight for filming, but to come back early to be with Jessica, she had taken a flight right after finishing.

Originally, Grace was exhausted, but seeing the situation between the two, she suddenly felt wide awake.

"Jessica, what's going on? Are you two back together?" Grace asked directly.

"Yes!" Jessica nodded lightly. Although she only said one word, it conveyed everything.

"I was worried you were too lonely and isolated living here alone, so I came back early to keep you company, but it turns out," Grace spread her hands, "you already have company."

"Looks like I worried for nothing, and now I seem to be the third wheel," Grace sighed dramatically.

Jessica immediately hugged her. "How could that be? Grace, I'm so happy you came back to keep me company."

But Grace still had concerns about the hurt Jessica had suffered after marrying Gabriel.

Especially with Diana still around, Grace felt uneasy.

But seeing Jessica so happy and sweet, Grace couldn't bring herself to say anything.

Since Jessica was happy, she didn't want to dampen her spirits.

But she was still worried.

Jessica soon noticed and asked directly, "Grace, do you have something to say? It's okay, you can say it."

"Jessica, I'm sorry, I don't mean to dampen your enthusiasm. I'm just worried about you. Are you sure about being with Gabriel this time? I'm afraid he'll hurt you again."

"Jessica, you know I've always been straightforward with you. Please don't be mad."

Jessica immediately grabbed Grace's hand and smiled reassuringly. "Grace, you're overthinking it. How could I be mad?"

"And, I know you're saying all this for my benefit. I know you're worried. In fact, I'm worried too. I don't know if I made the right choice, I don't know if he'll ever hurt me again, and I don't even know what the future holds for the two of us."

Jessica thought of those distant memories, "But I don't want to regret it one day. You know, he confessed to me yesterday. He said he likes me."

"I was so happy, extremely happy. From the moment I fell in love with him, I've been waiting for this day. I even thought I wouldn't hear it. I never dreamed he'd say he likes me. When I heard those words, I was completely defenseless."

"But I'm also very scared. I don't even dare to ask him if he still loves Diana."

"I don't dare to ask if he loves me more or Diana more. Grace, do you think I'm a failure for not even daring to ask?"

"Silly girl." Grace hugged her with a pained expression. "I know, you're just scared."

"I am very scared, but I still want to give him my last bit of courage. If it works out, I'll be happy; if it doesn't?"
