Chapter 682 Standing Up for Grace 1
"I didn't know what flavors you liked, so I just bought two cups randomly. Give them a try!"
Beth handed them over arrogantly.
Linda glanced coldly, showing no intention of taking them.
The atmosphere suddenly became awkward, and Beth's expression turned pale.
"Do you want them?" she asked, already with an overbearing tone.
Grace remained calm, not only unangered but also smiling gently.
"Linda, she brought them over with good intentions. Since that's the case, let's accept them."
Linda nodded and took the coffee.
Beth smiled triumphantly before swaying her hips and walking away in high heels.
However, as soon as she turned around, Linda threw the coffee into the trash can.
Grace chuckled, "Didn't you say a few days ago that you wanted coffee? Isn't there a decent coffee shop around here? As far as I know, Beth brought hand-ground coffee from the city, quite authentic."
"I still won't drink her coffee," Linda murmured.
The whole crew was bustling.
Of course, the main reason was that Beth bought coffee for everyone and carefully prepared afternoon snacks.
I heard she even gave money to some important positions.
Everyone was happy to receive gifts.
So, as Beth walked back, staff members greeted her with smiles along the way, greatly satisfying her vanity.
Grace and Linda understood, so they took a detour back through the crew, keeping a low profile.
However, to their surprise.
Along the way, every staff member who saw her greeted her.
"Grace, thank you!"
"Grace, you look beautiful today!"
"Grace, you still have such a great figure and a gentle personality."
Grace looked at Linda in confusion.
Linda shrugged, indicating her puzzlement, "Don't look at me, I don't know what's going on either."
Then, Linda thought of a possibility.
She immediately guessed boldly, "Could it be that Mr. Taft did something privately?"
Grace shook her head in denial, "I don't think so."
At that moment, a young girl ran towards them quickly.
"Grace, Linda!" she shouted happily as she ran.
When the girl stood in front of them, both were stunned, "Susan? How did you get here?"
Seeing them, Susan was so excited that she cried, wiping her tears vigorously.
"Grace, Linda, I'm so happy to see you."
"No matter what happens in the future, you can't leave me behind. I want to stay with you always."
The two hurriedly comforted her.
They calmed Susan down and stopped her tears.
Susan immediately smiled brightly, "By the way, Jessica brought me here."
"Jessica? She's here?" Grace asked.
If Susan's appearance was already a surprise, Jessica's arrival was truly shocking.
"Yes, Jessica is waiting for you up ahead. Let's go quickly." Susan nodded.
"Okay."
Seeing Jessica, Grace was thrilled.
She rushed to hug Jessica. "Why are you here?"
"Of course, I'm here to cheer you on. This is your first movie since your comeback. I must support you. I can't let you be overshadowed by that bitch Beth!" Jessica remarked.
As soon as she finished speaking, the staff around them thanked Grace profusely.
In an instant, Grace understood everything.
"I was wondering why so many people greeted me today. It turns out it was your doing. What did you bring them?" Grace was curious.
"Want to know?" Jessica asked mysteriously.
"Of course." Grace nodded.
"Alright then, besides custom high-end coffee and afternoon snacks, I prepared a set of cosmetics for each lady; for the men, I got some limited edition items for them to choose from." Jessica expressed.
Linda couldn't help but exclaim, "No wonder everyone was so nice to Grace just now."
"Jessica, you're amazing. Your gifts are way better than Beth's."
"It's just that you spent a lot of money and made a special trip."
Jessica smiled, "What are you talking about? Grace and I have been friends for decades, and she has always helped me without hesitation when I was in trouble."
"I don't know much about acting, but I can afford these gifts."
Linda immediately gave a thumbs-up.
One had to admit, Jessica was incredible at critical moments.
They didn't even need to think to know that Beth's expression must be very unpleasant right now.
"But Jessica, how did you know I would encounter Beth in this shoot? The lead roles have been kept secret." Grace asked.
Jessica smiled and leaned closer to Grace, lowering her voice.
"I knew it was your first movie since your comeback and was worried it wouldn't go smoothly, so I had Gabriel find out."
"There was a confidentiality agreement, but he couldn't resist my questioning and found out for me."
"As soon as I knew the lead actress was Beth, I dragged Gabriel over to visit."
"So, Gabriel is here too?" Grace asked in confusion.
Jessica nodded and pointed not far away, "Yes, over there!"
Seeing Jessica's indication, Gabriel and Elton walked towards them.
Gabriel introduced Jessica to Elton, "Mr. Krueger, let me introduce my wife, Jessica Morgan."
Upon hearing this, Elton immediately extended his hand respectfully to Jessica, "I've heard a lot about you. Mr. Walton married a beautiful wife, and seeing you today, it's indeed true. Mr. Walton is so fortunate!"
Gabriel smiled and looked at Jessica with affection, "Indeed, very fortunate!"
Jessica then hooked her arm around Grace's, "Mr. Krueger, you're too kind. Compared to Grace, I'm far behind. Grace is the most beautiful in my heart."
"We grew up together, and Grace was a beauty even as a child. Now she's even more stunning."
Elton, being very astute, could easily read between the lines.
He immediately remarked, "Mrs. Walton, you and Grace have known each other since childhood? That's truly remarkable and enviable!"
"Yes, we've been friends for decades. Although we're not biological sisters, we're closer than sisters."
"We had tough times growing up, and Grace suffered a lot, but now that I have the means, I won't let anyone bully her."
"Mr. Krueger, I talked too much. I hope you don't mind."
Jessica's words were clear to everyone.
When parting with Elton, he saw Gabriel off, "Mr. Walton, until we meet again. I wish you and Mrs. Walton a pleasant trip."
Gabriel nodded generously, "As long as my wife is happy, I'm happy."
With that, Gabriel deliberately glanced at Grace.
The meaning was unmistakably clear.
