Chapter 668 Rescued
Mark was the hottest man in the entertainment industry right now.
A man who drove almost every woman crazy.
Grace rubbed her head, never expecting to run into him here.
But now was not the time for her to be surprised.
Caleb's voice grew closer, "Don't run, come back. Do you want the lead female role or not?"
Grace ignored him, focused solely on getting away quickly.
Just as she reached out to press the elevator button for the first floor, Caleb suddenly charged at her like a madman.
Seeing him about to come in, Grace panicked and instinctively hid behind Mark.
She shrank her petite body, trying to let Mark's broad frame completely shield her.
She wasn't sure if Mark would help her; after all, people in the entertainment industry are very good at looking out for themselves.
There was no reason for Mark to save her.
Moreover, Mark was a recently popular star, likely even less inclined to get into trouble.
Mark stood as usual, his posture straight, his face calm and expressionless.
He pressed his lips together, saying nothing.
On the other side of the elevator, Mark's agent, George Walker, spoke up, "Mark, always remember your status. Better to avoid trouble than to get involved in it."
The meaning was clear: they wanted to push her out.
Perhaps out of sheer fear, Grace found a sudden burst of courage.
She reached out and grabbed Mark's hand, her voice soft and delicate.
"Mark, please help me this once! I'm begging you."
After speaking, Grace's heart hung in suspense.
She didn't know if Mark would save her.
Outside the elevator, Caleb recognized Mark and smiled. "Mark, George is right, better to avoid trouble."
"Besides, she's a washed-up star, not worth your effort."
"By the way, I have a great script tailored just for you. If you agree to join, you'll be the lead."
Mark looked up, slowly adjusting the gold cufflinks on his sleeves.
He said nothing, just stood there.
But the look in Mark's eyes was so intimidating that Caleb couldn't meet his gaze.
George wisely shut his mouth.
Having been with Mark for so long, George knew that Mark was about to get angry.
After adjusting his cufflinks, Mark's elegant fingers tugged at his striped tie.
His lips curled into a nearly enchanting smile, and suddenly, he lifted his foot and kicked Caleb squarely in the chest.
"Get lost! You think you're worthy?"
Caleb was kicked far away.
George silently mourned for Caleb while quickly closing the elevator door.
Only then did Grace breathe a sigh of relief.
When the elevator reached the first floor, she quickly thanked Mark and ran out.
Given the situation, she needed to get back immediately.
The sooner, the better.
For some reason, a strange feeling surged through her body.
She felt hot and restless, her whole body weak and a bit dizzy.
Considering the small amount of alcohol she had, the worst should have passed by now, and she should be feeling better.
But her symptoms seemed to be getting worse.
Suddenly, her vision went black, and she lost all consciousness, collapsing to the ground.
Mark rushed over, extending his arm to catch her.
George's eyes widened as he ran over.
"Mark, think carefully about this. Do you realize your current status?"
"If someone sees you carrying a woman and leaks it to the media, it will be a huge scandal."
Mark just gave him a cold look. "Let it be a scandal then."
"From now on, shut your mouth. I don't want to hear another word from you."
George immediately covered his mouth, staying silent.
Indeed, George didn't say another word.
Mark carried Grace out in his arms.
George followed, very worried.
He couldn't afford to offend Mark. He just hoped that the media wouldn't catch them.
If the media got a few pictures and reported that top star Mark was carrying a mysterious woman home, he could imagine how explosive the news would be.
Even if the news was suppressed, the fans would still be upset.
George was so focused on PR that he didn't even notice when Mark carried Grace to the car.
"Do I have a third hand?" Mark asked coolly.
George snapped out of it and quickly opened the door.
Watching Mark place Grace in the car, George couldn't help but be reminded.
Before he could speak, Mark cut him off. "I know what you want to say. Since you know, I don't want to hear it, keep your mouth shut. Do you think you can change my decision?"
George immediately shook his head.
"Car keys," Mark demanded.
George obediently handed them over.
The next moment, Mark got into the driver's seat.
With a press of the gas pedal, the car sped off into the night.
George was left watching the disappearing car, filled with regret.
If he had known this would happen, he wouldn't have arranged dinner here today.
In the back seat, Grace was groggy.
But her consciousness was in a half-awake state.
"Why am I in a car?"
"Who are you?"
She clung to the front seat, groggily looking forward.
But all she saw was a back, nothing else.
Through the rearview mirror, Mark looked at Grace in the back seat.
She must have been drinking; her face was flushed, looking as pretty as rouge.
Especially her alluring demeanor when drunk, making her even more captivating.
"Who are you? Why aren't you answering me?" Grace asked again.
It was a red light, and traffic was heavy. Mark stepped on the brake and turned his head, flashing a dazzling smile.
"You were just begging me to save you. What? You don't recognize me now?"
With a bright smile, she softly said, "Oh, I see now, you're Mark."
"Thank you, Mark, thank you for saving me."
"By the way, I have no strength in my body, I'm all limp. Can I give you an address, and you take me there?"
Panting as she spoke, her body felt weak and increasingly uncomfortable. She was on fire, desperate to strip off her clothes and plunge into ice water.
This feeling was too strange.
She had been drunk before, but never felt like this.
This drink must be too strong.
At that moment, Mark gave a devilish smile. "How do you know I'm saving you? What if I'm just like Caleb, lusting after your beauty?"
