Chapter 322 Gabriel's Overbearing Protection of Jessica

Gabriel said, "Alright, as her future husband, I really appreciate you."

"You're welcome." Tina took a deep breath.

Meeting Gabriel for the first time and saying so much, especially with a bit of a reproachful tone, had her feeling pretty anxious. Plus, Gabriel wasn't just any guy.

Seeing that Gabriel seemed to humbly accept her suggestion, she felt relieved for Jessica.

After dinner, Jessica and Gabriel headed home together.

Jessica took a shower and then lay in bed reading for a bit. By the time Gabriel joined her, she had already dozed off with the book still on the blanket.

Smiling, Gabriel gently took the book away and laid her flat on the bed.

Just as he was about to cover her with the blanket, Jessica's eyes fluttered open.

"Did you finish your shower?" she asked, rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"Yeah, if you're tired, go ahead and sleep."

"Okay." Jessica nodded, and Gabriel tucked her in.

But just as she closed her eyes and Gabriel lay down, Jessica suddenly opened her eyes again, looking at him.

Thinking about what people had said during the day, she felt a pang in her heart.

After hesitating for a moment, she spoke softly, "Gabriel, I want to talk to you about something."

"Sure, go ahead."

Jessica said, "I think we should live in our own homes for now and not sleep in the same bed, okay?"

Gabriel's heart sank immediately. He remembered what Tina had said to him earlier. Jessica must have been hurt by those words and felt self-conscious, which was why she suggested living apart.

He blamed himself for being too slow and careless.

Actually, this morning, when he decided to let her have this baby, he had already been planning to get married. He had imagined her with a big belly one day and couldn't bear the thought of Jessica being attacked by rumors.

He was also meticulously planning the proposal and wedding, including the ring and wedding dress, which he had people working on urgently. But even so, the pace was still a bit slow.

So, upon hearing that Jessica had been gossiped about today, he felt very sad.

"Alright."

Nodding, Gabriel kissed Jessica's forehead and got out of bed.

"Then you sleep here tonight, and I'll sleep in the guest room. Starting tomorrow, I'll have Oscar take you home and pick you up for the hospital in the morning."

Jessica nodded, touched, saying, "Okay, thank you, Gabriel."

Gabriel said, "Silly, no need to be so polite with me. Now, don't think about anything and get some good rest, okay?"

"Okay." Closing her eyes, Jessica quickly fell asleep.

It wasn't until she was sound asleep that Gabriel felt at ease and prepared to leave the room.

However, just as he turned off the light and was about to leave, Jessica suddenly let out a painful cry in the dark, "No, please don't say that.

"No, I'm not a person with a chaotic private life; it's not what you think.

"Really, it's not."

She shook her head vigorously, her voice filled with pain.

Gabriel immediately turned on the light and rushed back.

He gently held her hand and comforted her, "I'm sorry, Jessica; it's all my fault. It's me who made you endure this undeserved pain. Don't worry; I will give you the best and won't let you be criticized by others again."

This time, it wasn't until Jessica was deeply asleep that Gabriel felt at ease to leave.

In the morning, as soon as Jessica came downstairs, the housekeeper had already laid out a killer breakfast spread in the dining room. It wasn't just a feast for the eyes but packed with all the good stuff.

But she waited a bit and didn't see Gabriel.

"Where's Gabriel?" Jessica asked the housekeeper.

"Ms. Morgan, Mr. Walton had something important to handle and left early. He asked me to make sure you had a good breakfast before he left."

Jessica then noticed a message from Gabriel on her Facebook: [Jessica, had to leave early for something. Make sure to have a good breakfast.]

After breakfast, Oscar drove her to the hospital.

As soon as she walked in, she noticed everyone was grinning at her, not just warmly but with a hint of envy. It was different from the usual.

"Tina, what's up with everyone today?" Jessica asked while slipping into her white coat.

Tina grinned and said, "I can't take credit for this. You should ask your boyfriend; he knows more about it."

"Gabriel?" Jessica was puzzled.

She called Gabriel, half-skeptical, "Gabriel, everyone at work is smiling at me today, and their smiles are kinda mysterious. Tina told me to ask you; did you do something?"

"Not much, just brought some perks for everyone and made sure they know about your boyfriend."

Jessica immediately caught on and asked in surprise, "So, the important thing you mentioned this morning was coming to my hospital?"

"Yep, Dr. Morgan, you're quick on the uptake."

Jessica asked, "Why didn't you give me a heads-up about something this big?"

Gabriel explained, "Because I didn't want you to be the subject of gossip anymore, I wanted to surprise you."

After hanging up, Jessica felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

She had thought it would take forever for him to get more thoughtful! She was pretty anxious, worried he wouldn't react even when her belly got big. She was even more afraid she'd always be seen as a pitiful figure in everyone's eyes.

But he got it so quickly.

After hanging up, Jessica had just finished changing and walked over when some young nurses surrounded her, all smiles.

Their words were full of envy, "Wow, Dr. Morgan, you really kept it under wraps. You have such a handsome boyfriend and didn't introduce him to us, making us think he wasn't presentable!"

"Yeah, when he came this morning, I was stunned. I thought a celebrity had walked in by mistake!"

"That's secondary. The key is that not only is he handsome, but he also loves and spoils Dr. Morgan so much. It's heartwarming."

"Exactly, we're so envious!"

Their attitudes had completely changed from yesterday. In the midst of everyone's praise and envy, Jessica's bad mood vanished.

After work, Jessica was jotting down a patient's condition.

Halfway through, a young nurse ran over excitedly, saying, "Dr. Morgan, quick, you have to come outside."

"Huh, what's going on?" Jessica looked puzzled.

At that moment, Tina walked over and took the pen and notebook from her hand, saying, "Go quickly; I'll take over here."

Seeing this, the nurse immediately grabbed Jessica's hand and led her outside.

At the entrance, as soon as Jessica stepped out, she saw a ground full of vibrant roses.

In the center of the roses was a large sign that read "Jessica."
