Chapter 776 Anticipation 1
After lunch, Grace and Susan took a private jet to the film set.
Grace rested for a night, and the next day she officially started filming.
To keep up with the schedule, the atmosphere on set was noticeably tense and hurried.
Fortunately, Lyndon was dedicated. It must be said, his acting was incredible, truly effortless.
Acting alongside him, Grace not only felt no worry but also felt very reassured.
The entire shoot went very smoothly.
In the last week, there was only one location left to shoot, which was in the desert.
So, Director Elton specifically scheduled it for the last few scenes.
When Grace took the plane, the seat next to her was empty.
She was puzzled, but just before takeoff, a long-unseen figure suddenly appeared before her.
"Is it you?" Grace looked at Mark in surprise. "I thought you weren't coming?"
"Of course, I would come. I have a few scenes left to shoot, and Mr. Krueger called me several times."
After a few pleasantries, Grace's phone rang.
It was Quentin calling.
She immediately answered excitedly, and the joy and playfulness of being in love were unmistakable.
Mark frowned, his emotions hard to read.
"Are you about to go to the desert?" Quentin asked softly, standing in a high-rise building, holding his phone with one hand.
"Yes, I'm already on the plane, about to take off soon."
"Well, let me know when you get there. Take some pictures of the desert scenery for me to enjoy. I haven't been to the desert yet."
Grace nodded with a smile, "Sure, I'll let you know as soon as I get there. I have to go now, the plane is about to take off."
As she was about to say goodbye, Quentin suddenly called out, "Grace, will there be no signal in the desert?"
"Yes, Mr. Krueger mentioned in advance that we might lose internet for a few days, so we should be prepared. So, for the next week, we won't be able to video call or talk on the phone. As for messages on Facebook, it depends."
"No problem, I'll endure it. When you come back in a week, make it up to me double. I'll be waiting for you at the airport to take you home."
"Okay."
The announcement to turn off electronic devices came on the plane, and Grace quickly said, "I really can't talk now, I have to turn off my phone..."
Before she could finish, his deep, sexy voice came through, "Wait a moment, I have one last thing to say."
"What is it?"
"Grace, I miss you a lot, and I love you. Remember, no matter what happens, you must believe in me and never doubt my love for you." He spoke so gently, full of affection.
Grace's heart softened instantly.
Holding her phone, she lowered her voice, "I miss you too!"
Quentin stubbornly asked again, "Grace, you haven't answered me yet. Do you trust me?"
"I do. See you in a week."
Those simple words carried all her emotions.
So firm, so unwavering.
Suddenly, she felt time was passing so slowly.
She had never felt this way while filming before, but this time, she was counting the days, eager to return to his side every day.
Unknowingly, she had become so attached to everything about him.
Just one more week, she wished time would pass faster!
By then, she would be his bride.
She would wear a beautiful, elegant white wedding dress; Quentin would wear a handsome black suit.
She would hold his arm, and they would walk down the red carpet into the church, married under the witness of the pastor.
Thinking about the dream scene becoming reality, the smile on Grace's face deepened.
On the other side, Quentin's tall figure stood by the large floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the bustling traffic below.
From such a height, no one below could be seen clearly; they all seemed so small.
In such a high position, he was used to giving orders and controlling others' lives and destinies.
But he never thought that one day, his life would also be controlled by someone else.
Full of worries, he lit one cigarette after another, smoking continuously.
The office was filled with smoke, a hazy mist.
When Caroline walked in wearing high heels, she saw this scene and covered her nose, coughing several times.
Then she shouted, "Willie!"
"Ms. Stewart!" Hearing the call, Willie didn't dare delay and immediately ran in respectfully.
"What kind of assistant are you? Quentin is smoking so much in the office, and you didn't even open a window to ventilate. Besides, can his body handle smoking so much?"
Knowing he couldn't afford to offend her, Willie immediately apologized, "Ms. Stewart, you're right. I neglected it. I'll..."
Before Willie could finish, Quentin interrupted, "It's not his fault. I didn't let him in."
Caroline gave Willie a cold look, "Fine, you can go out now. I'll handle the ventilation. In half an hour, have someone come in and clean Quentin's office thoroughly, and disinfect it."
"Yes, Ms. Stewart."
After Willie left, Caroline walked over lightly, first opening all the windows in the office.
Instantly, a cool breeze came in, which felt very refreshing.
Then, she stood next to him, shoulder to shoulder.
Caroline looked out the window with him, "Quentin, what are you looking at?"
"Nothing," he replied coldly, his voice faint.
Caroline didn't mind at all. She gently held his hand and asked, "Quentin, Dad just asked if we can announce our wedding news."
Quentin remained silent for a long time.
His tall figure suddenly stiffened, his eyes deep and terrifying.
He just stared down, his gaze profound, his breath low, exuding an invisible danger.
Caroline knew he was feeling unwilling and unhappy.
After all, he was being forced to marry, and it was understandable that he was unhappy.
But she didn't mind.
As long as they could get married, Caroline believed that in time, he would forget Grace and fall in love with her.
So, even if he was cold now, she could temporarily overlook it.
Seeing no response, Caroline asked again, "Quentin, if you have no objections, I'll have someone send the wedding news to the media."
"You've already made up your mind, so why ask me?"
Quentin turned and coldly pushed her away.
