Chapter 247 Thrilling, Jessica Fell into the Water 1
Diana covered her ears, shaking her head frantically. "Stop it, Gabriel.
"I beg you to stop it. I don't want to hear any of it."
Standing here listening to him profess his deep love and affection for Jessica was a torment akin to being flayed alive.
This was her most desperate and painful moment.
Never had she felt so helpless and miserable.
But he didn't stop. "Diana, I have to say it. From now on, my world, my heart, and my eyes will only have her. As for today, if it weren't for me wanting to tell you this, you wouldn't even have had the chance to come in here."
His words were getting crueler by the second.
"So, the reason you let me see you today was just to tell me this?" Diana looked at him with a heartbroken expression.
"Yes," he answered with certainty.
Diana laughed. "Haha, Gabriel, don't you think you're being too cruel to me? After all, I've loved you for so many years."
"From now on, your every word and action, your joys and sorrows, have nothing to do with me." After saying that, Gabriel coldly called out, "Oscar, take her out."
"No." Diana shook her head desperately; she didn't want to leave.
Even so, she didn't want to leave.
If she left, she would truly have lost. How could she admit defeat?
"Ms. Bush, please!" Oscar looked at her.
Diana gripped the handles of her wheelchair tightly and looked coldly at Oscar. "Don't waste your effort; I won't leave."
"In that case, I won't be polite." Oscar then pushed the wheelchair directly towards the door.
Seeing them coming out, Jessica immediately turned around.
She lightened her steps, trying not to be noticed by them.
But she still couldn't escape Diana's eyes.
"Jessica, what are you doing here?" Seeing her, Diana almost screamed in madness.
Having heard Gabriel's deep and affectionate confession to her, Jessica must be feeling very smug right now.
But she hated her so much that her whole body was trembling.
She said inwardly, 'Jessica, why you? If it weren't for you, Gabriel and I would have been together long ago.'
Diana's heart had long been filled with hatred, and seeing Jessica at that moment, her hatred reached its peak.
Seeing the lake behind Jessica, she suddenly pressed the button on her wheelchair,
and then charged madly towards Jessica.
Jessica was caught off guard. By the time she realized she was coming at her, it was too late to dodge.
Diana's force was swift and fierce, and she was almost immediately knocked into the air.
"Ah." With a scream, she was thrown into the air and then fell into the lake behind her.
"Ms. Morgan." Oscar shouted anxiously.
"Jessica." With a loud shout, and the sound of a splash, Gabriel had already jumped into the lake.
Diana clenched her fists, her eyes filled with overwhelming hatred and anger.
He jumped in?
He didn't even think before jumping in to save Jessica?
"Someone, quickly, get Mr. Walton and Ms. Morgan out of the water." Oscar shouted loudly.
Jessica couldn't swim, and the winter lake water was icy cold that could penetrate to the bone and freeze someone to death.
"Help." When she first fell in, she instinctively shouted twice, but the water was too cold, and she couldn't swim.
After flailing her arms a couple of times, she was already shivering all over and almost became numb.
Her head grew heavier, her body sank deeper, and her hands, though trying to paddle, were useless; she had no strength left.
One gulp of water, two gulps, by the third gulp, Jessica's body was so cold it had no warmth left, and she could barely breathe.
Her hands lost their strength and went limp.
Her eyes closed.
"Gabriel." With the last bit of consciousness, she moved her lips and softly called his name.
Just as she began to sink to the bottom, suddenly, a strong force grabbed her hand.
The next moment, she felt her body being lifted. In her fading consciousness, she seemed to see the person she had been thinking about.
'Gabriel? Is it him?'
Jessica's lips curled slightly. She wanted to speak, to call his name, but she couldn't make a sound.
Her vision blurred, and with one last look at him, she closed her eyes contentedly.
Gabriel called worriedly, "Jessica, wake up. Don't sleep.
"Jessica, wake up. We'll be fine."
With that, he held her body with one hand, lifted her chin with the other, and kissed her without hesitation.
Gabriel held her, frantically giving her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
On the shore, Diana clenched her fists, her eyes fixed on the lake.
At that moment, a crazy idea sprouted in her mind.
She wanted Jessica dead.
The winter lake water was icy cold. For someone like Jessica who couldn't swim, she would be dead in a minute, or at most three.
What good would it do for Gabriel to jump in so quickly?
The lake was so big and deep that it would take time to find her.
Plus, it was nighttime, pitch black everywhere. By the time he found Jessica, she might already be a floating corpse.
Fine, she would just wait for Jessica to drown.
Diana clenched her fists so tightly that her sharp nails dug into her flesh, drawing blood, but she didn't feel any pain.
Her eyes were fixed on the lake, waiting for Jessica's body to float up.
Suddenly, a voice came, accompanied by a huge splash, and two people emerged from the lake.
Diana stared at them, hardly believing her eyes.
'She is rescued? Gabriel actually saved her? In such deep, cold water, why didn't it freeze her to death?'
On the dark lake surface, Gabriel held Jessica, and the two were kissing passionately, oblivious to everything around them.
"Ah! You bitch, Jessica!" Diana screamed madly from her wheelchair, pounding on it with all her might.
Seeing their figures, Oscar immediately shouted, "Quick, Mr. Walton and Ms. Morgan are over there; go save them."
He then directed the lights towards them.
Instantly, the lake surface rippled with waves.
In the midst of the darkness, only the spot where Gabriel and Jessica embraced was bright, the soft light reflecting off the lake, casting a golden glow on them.
Both were drenched, Gabriel holding Jessica, kissing her passionately, as if nothing else in the world mattered.
At that moment, his heart was filled only with Jessica.
As Diana watched the beautiful and moving scene before her, her hatred grew even stronger.
Only when he felt Jessica's breathing stabilize did Gabriel release her, then he held her and swam to the shore with all his might.
