Chapter 430 Freddy's Surgery 1

"Are you Jealous?" Gabriel asked.

"No, just kidding with you," Jessica replied with a smile. "But how did you know they like the underwater world? I don't remember telling you."

"I observed our house. There are many things related to marine life and a lot of educational books about it. They also mentioned it in their conversations," Gabriel explained, he had paid close attention.

More importantly, even though he hadn't spent much time with Gilbert and Freddy, he had already fully embraced the role of a father, and he played it exceptionally well.

At this moment, there was a knock on the door.

A nurse walked in. "Are you Freddy's parents?"

"Yes, we are."

"The test results are out. You can go to the doctor's office now."

"Okay, we'll be right there." Jessica nodded.

She was incredibly excited.

"Gilbert, your father and I need to step out for a bit. Take good care of Freddy in the room. Don't run around, just stay here and wait for us, okay?" Before leaving, Jessica patiently instructed Gilbert.

"Okay, Mommy, you go ahead. I'll take good care of Freddy."

Jessica also asked the nurse station to help look after them.

Then, Gabriel and Jessica headed to the doctor's office together.

On the way, Jessica was both excited and nervous, her heart was in her throat.

Gabriel naturally noticed and reached out to hold Jessica's hand, gently comforting her, "Don't worry too much. I believe it will be the result we want."

"Okay!" Though she said that, Jessica was still extremely nervous inside.

This was the closest she had ever been to hope.

In the past, she had hoped many times, but each time it was ruthlessly shattered.

Perhaps because of too many disappointments, she became more and more afraid and worried.

When they arrived at the doctor's office, Gabriel took the initiative to knock on the door. "Hello, Dr. Carr, we are Freddy's parents."

"Come in," a voice came from inside.

After entering the office, Jessica appeared very restrained.

Even her breathing became cautious, and she felt the air inside was thin.

Dr. Brad Carr flipped through the various documents in his hand. About two minutes later, he looked up and adjusted his glasses.

Then he spoke, "First, I need to tell you about Freddy's test results and the heart match."

Hearing Brad's words, Jessica suddenly tightened her grip on Gabriel's hand.

It was clear she was very nervous.

Gabriel could only use his other hand to gently pat the back of her hand, silently comforting her.

"Today's test results are good. The donated heart matches well with Freddy's, and his physical examination is also good. If you agree, we can schedule the surgery."

Hearing this, Jessica's tense heart suddenly relaxed.

She took a deep breath and couldn't hold back anymore. She hugged Gabriel and rested her head on his shoulder.

Instantly, her frail shoulders shook violently.

She didn't cry out loud, but the continuous flow of tears quickly soaked Gabriel's shoulder.

Perhaps only those who had endured five years of torment knew how exciting and joyful it was to finally get the result.

"Sorry, she is a bit emotional," Gabriel gently explained.

Brad nodded. "I understand. I'll give you ten minutes to consider. If you agree, we need to proceed with the transplant surgery ASAP because the donated heart will be removed soon, and we can't delay."

Hearing this, Jessica immediately wiped away her tears.

Then she tidied her hair and smiled at Brad。 "Dr. Carr, we've already decided. We'll go ahead with the heart transplant for Freddy. Please prepare for the surgery."

"Ms. Morgan, are you sure? Do you want to discuss it with your husband? Freddy is still young, and there are risks with the transplant. We can't accurately predict the rejection reaction after the transplant."

Gabriel held Jessica's hand and firmly said, "I agree with her decision."

"Okay, sign the papers, then I'll notify the team to prepare for the surgery."

"Thank you, Dr. Carr."

After leaving the doctor's office, Jessica's legs went weak, and she stumbled.

If Gabriel hadn't been holding her, she would have fallen.

Inside the office, she had been holding on.

But outside, knowing the challenges and uncertainties ahead, she was truly filled with worry.

"Gabriel, why did you agree with me so readily? I thought you would question it."

Gabriel helped her sit down on a nearby chair and explained, "For the past five years, you've been taking care of Freddy. You know his condition better than anyone. Five years ago, you chose to do the transplant, maybe out of impulse or immaturity."

"But over these five years, you've surely learned a lot about his illness and collected various data. Since you made the same decision after five years, you must have your reasons."

"I trust your judgment. I just need to unconditionally believe in you."

Although Gabriel's words made Jessica feel very touched, thinking about the risks of the surgery and how young Freddy was, she said, "Gabriel, thank you for your trust, but what if..."

Before Jessica could finish, Gabriel gently covered her mouth with his hand. "Jessica, we've already made the choice, all we need to do now is believe in it. If we doubt ourselves, how can Freddy trust us as parents?"

With tears in her eyes, Jessica nodded vigorously. "You're right. We need to believe in ourselves first. By the way, how are we going to get Freddy to agree to go into the operating room?"

Gabriel patted her hand and said, "Leave that to me. You just need to stay relaxed and not let Freddy see that we're nervous."

"Okay, I'll do as you say." Composing herself, Jessica took Gabriel's arm, wearing a light smile, and walked into the room looking relaxed.

But inside, she felt as heavy as a rock.

In the room, Freddy and Gilbert were playing intently.

Gabriel walked over and picked Freddy up. "Freddy, your mom and I just saw Dr. Carr and got some good news. Do you want to hear it?"
