Chapter 463 Gentle Concern 2
Tina shook her head, her gaze quickly falling on his wound. "How's the wound? That jab just now must have hurt a lot!"
This time, Vincent didn't try to tough it out. "It did hurt a bit, but knowing my colleague woke up and is out of danger makes me happy, so the wound doesn't feel as painful."
"Then sit down quickly, and I'll take care of it."
"Okay."
After treating the wound, Vincent thanked her and hurried to the ward.
Tina took the medical kit back to the office.
A colleague saw her and quickly called out, "Tina, you're back! Go eat quickly, there isn't much food left in the cafeteria, and today's meal is pretty good with some of your favorite dishes."
"Okay, I'll go right away, thanks!" Tina smiled.
After washing her hands and changing clothes, she immediately went to the cafeteria.
"Sir, excuse me, I'd like two meals," Tina said.
Seeing that she was a young girl, the cafeteria worker felt a bit embarrassed. "There's only one left. Next time, come earlier!"
"Okay, just one then."
Holding the meal, Tina almost instinctively went to the ward.
She reached the door, which was slightly ajar.
She reached out and gently knocked on the door.
Vincent's voice quickly came from inside, "Come in."
Tina walked in quietly and handed him the meal. "You must be hungry. Go ahead and eat something to fill you up."
"Thank you so much today. I can't trouble you any further." Vincent said.
Tina smiled gently. "It's no trouble. You're Jessica's friend, so you're my friend too. Besides, you've lost a lot of blood and need to eat well to recover quickly."
"Have you eaten?" Vincent asked.
"I already ate in the cafeteria. The food there is pretty good. You should try it!"
Seeing Tina's sincerity and feeling extremely hungry, Vincent didn't refuse any further.
After he finished eating, Tina checked the time. There were only a few minutes left before her shift started. "I have to go to work now. Rest after your lunch."
"Okay, thank you for today."
Back in the office, Tina touched her stomach, feeling a bit hungry.
She had thought she could hold out until the end of her shift.
But she had only eaten a sandwich for breakfast and had been busy since morning, so she got hungry quickly.
Luckily, she remembered there was a cup of instant noodles in the office.
So, she immediately boiled some water to make it.
As the aroma wafted out, her colleague Violet walked in and asked with concern, "Tina, why are you eating instant noodles? Didn't you have lunch?"
"I did, but..." Tina smiled. "I was too hungry and didn't eat enough, so I wanted to eat a bit more."
"You are so enviable, always eating but never gaining weight, and still having such a good figure!"
At this moment, another colleague, Adeline, walked in. "That's not right, Tina. I saw you take your lunch to the ward. You're always so kind, giving your food to others even when you're hungry."
"You still have work to do this afternoon. Aren't you afraid of fainting from low blood sugar?"
Indeed, Tina had done this many times before.
Especially when she saw some poor and pitiful patients, she couldn't help but give away her lunch several times.
She chuckled and quickly explained, "It's okay. I can help a bit. Besides, I'm not that fragile."
"You silly girl, always making people worry. If only I had a son, I'd make sure he married you."
Violet sighed, "Yeah, if my son were older, marrying Tina would be a lifetime's blessing."
"You guys are praising me too much, and I'm embarrassed."
"Alright, enough talking. Eat quickly. If the noodles aren't enough, we have some cookies and bread here. Eat more and come back when you're full. No rush, I'll have someone cover your shift."
As they spoke, Violet and Adeline placed a bunch of food in front of Tina.
"Okay, thank you, Violet and Adeline," Tina said sweetly.
The noodles were ready, and Tina quickly finished them. She checked the time, it was almost two o'clock.
After changing clothes, she immediately went to work.
Meanwhile, the banquet had ended, and it was already evening.
Danielle, Gilbert, and Freddy had just come out when a cold wind greeted them.
When they left in the morning, the weather was sunny and warm, so she wore a long dress.
But the temperature at that moment made wearing a skirt feel a bit chilly.
She reached out to rub her hands when suddenly a coat was draped over her shoulders.
Turning to the side, she saw it was Jonah.
"It's cold at night, and you're not in good health. Don't catch a cold."
"What are you doing here?"
"The temperature dropped tonight, and the weather forecast said it might rain. I was worried about you." Jonah admitted.
At this moment, Gilbert and Freddy also came over, both holding out their arms. "Grandpa, carry us."
Without saying, Jonah picked them up, one in each arm.
The hotel was large, and with many banquets today, the outside was almost impenetrable, and cars couldn't get in, so they had to park a bit farther away.
So, Jonah had to carry Gilbert and Freddy for quite a while.
Although he was still relatively strong, he was getting older, and carrying both Gilbert and Freddy was quite challenging.
After ten minutes, he started to struggle.
His breathing became labored.
Eventually, his breathing grew heavier and more strained.
Danielle looked at him several times, feeling concerned for him.
Finally, she spoke up, "Let me carry Gilbert."
"No need, there's still a bit to walk. You're wearing high heels, and if you carry Gilbert, your back pain will flare up tonight."
"Don't push yourself," Danielle's tone softened. "And don't use this to gain my sympathy and forgiveness."
"Even if I forgive you, what difference would it make if you wear yourself out?"
Her words affected Jonah.
He was about to hand Gilbert to Danielle.
Gilbert and Freddy exchanged a glance and jumped down from Jonah's arms simultaneously.
"No need, Grandpa. Just hold my hand." Freddy said.
"Grandma, you don't need to carry me either. Just hold my hand." Gilbert added.
So Freddy stood on Jonah's left, while Gilbert stood on Danielle's right.
And Jonah and Danielle walked closely together in the middle.
