Chapter 707 Standing Up for Grace 2

Mark gave George a cold glance. "George, stop pretending."

"All these years, do you think I didn't know anything?"

George didn't know what to do, but thinking about the consequences of the truth being revealed, he decided to keep hiding it.

"Mark, I really don't understand what you're talking about."

Mark threw the USB drive on the table.

At the same time, his gaze became even colder.

"A few years ago, when I was just about to enter the entertainment industry, you found me and said you could be my agent."

"You also said you had dreams of entering the entertainment industry like me, but lacked experience, and asked if I was willing to sign with you."

"But later, I found out you had a lot of unusual resources in the industry. You were even drawing two salaries, one from me and one from him."

"Almost every month, you sent him an email from your inbox."

Mark spoke each word slowly, his gaze pressing harder on George.

"Do you need me to spell it out even more clearly?"

With all the secrets exposed, George felt utterly ashamed.

George clenched his fists, and his expression darkened.

Having been by Mark's side for so long, George knew Mark too well. Mark hated deception the most.

Now that he had deceived Mark, Mark would definitely not let him off.

"It's all my fault. You can handle it however you want," George claimed firmly, lowering his head.

Mark sneered, "Now you admit it so readily. Weren't you just pretending not to know?"

"George, to be honest with you, I knew long ago that you were sent by him. I also knew you kept in touch with him. The reason I didn't expose you was because you were always loyal to me and never did anything to betray me."

"Otherwise, do you think I would have kept you by my side?"

"In light of your years of dedicated service and the fact that you told me about Marlon entering Grace's room, I won't pursue this matter."

"But if you dare betray me, I won't spare you."

George let out a heavy sigh of relief, immediately feeling a weight lifted off his shoulders.

At the same time, he made a firm promise, "Mark, don't worry. I always remember my role."

"Although I was initially sent by Mr. Powell to be by your side, now I am just your agent and nothing else."

Mark nodded in satisfaction. "Alright, you understand well."

At the same time, Mark raised an eyebrow, his gaze falling on the USB drive on the table.

George immediately picked it up. "I'll handle it right away. But I have one question."

"Go ahead."

"With our current status in the entertainment industry, it wouldn't be hard to blacklist Marlon. Why do we need Mr. Powell to step in?"

Mark smiled. "Didn't he say I could ask for his help anytime? Since he wants to play the role of a good big brother, I should give him the occasional opportunity."

"Alright, I'll contact Mr. Powell right away and convey your message to him."

"Well, go ahead."

After George left, Mark rubbed his eyes while gazing into the distance.

"Kenneth, I hope you don't disappoint me this time," he murmured, staring at a distant building.

George was right. With Mark's current status, blacklisting Marlon wouldn't be difficult.

But as a celebrity, even if directors and producers respected him, it was only because he was currently popular and had a lot of traffic and topics. They had to choose between him and Marlon.

It was not a long-term solution.

But if the Powell Group steps in, it would be different.

The power of capitalists was what the entertainment industry truly feared, and it was the only way to solve the problem once and for all.

To deal with scum like Marlon, there could be no mercy.

Otherwise, Grace's suffering would be in vain.

About half an hour later, George returned.

"Mark, I've contacted Mr. Powell, and the video on the USB drive has been sent to his email."

"What did he say?"

"Mr. Powell said he would handle it accordingly. Also, the hospital just called. Marlon has woken up. He's not in any life-threatening condition, but he's very irritable and kicked everyone out of his room as soon as he woke up."

Mark sneered, "No matter, let him be arrogant for a few days. He won't have the chance later."

"What I'm worried about now is that the production crew will be implicated and greatly affected. If Marlon is blacklisted, this show will be ruined and won't be able to air."

"You'll be fine since you were just the second male lead. It won't affect you much if it doesn't air."

"But Grace, it's different for her. This is her first show after her comeback. I heard she put a lot of effort into it. If it doesn't air, all her efforts will be in vain."

George's considerations were indeed thorough.

George also knew what Mark truly cared about, so every word he said hit the key points.

Mark raised an eyebrow and looked at George. "Communicate with the director's team and tell them we have inside information that Marlon offended the capitalists. Have the director replace the male lead and reshoot."

George's eyes lit up. "Mark, why look for another male lead? You're the best choice."

"Me?" Mark shook his head repeatedly. "No, I don't want to have a romance with that old woman, Beth. Her face is full of Botox. Who knows how many surgeries she's had? Grace is better. I'll just be the second male lead."

George thought for a moment, and suddenly, an idea popped into his head.

"Mark, actually, if you play the male lead, you can have Mr. Krueger and the writers increase Grace's screen time, making her the de facto female lead."

Hearing this, Mark's eyes lit up.

For once, Mark smiled, a rare smile slowly spreading across his lips.

"Good idea, George. This is a good plan."

"Why didn't I think of that?"

"But I need to discuss it with Grace. I don't know how she's doing now. I'll go see her."

At Linda's room door, Mark knocked.

After two knocks, Linda opened the door and spoke in a low voice, "You're here to see Grace, right?"

"How is she?"

"She's quite scared. She barely slept all night, only resting well in the morning. Let her sleep a bit more."

"Alright, contact me as soon as Grace wakes up."

Grace woke up at ten.

After rest and with Linda's comfort and company, Grace felt much better.

She picked up her phone, and Instagram sent a notification.

She opened it and saw a headline in the trending topics.

The following topics were all related to the first one.

The entire internet was filled with curses and condemnations, as harsh as could be.

Instantly, the bit of relief Grace had felt was blocked again.

Grace clenched her fists, her gaze determined as she looked into the distance, her eyes cold.

"Marlon, since you are heartless, don't blame me for being ruthless. I want to see how many people will forgive you when your dirty past is dug up."
