Chapter 829 Grace's Decision
Looking at Grace like this, Kenneth had an indescribable feeling.
For the first time, he felt a pang of heartache for Grace in front of him.
Grace appeared strong, but in reality, she was fragile and lacked a sense of security.
"Do you need my help with the online stuff?" Kenneth asked.
Grace shook her head.
"But thank you for your kindness, Mr. Powell!"
After seeing Kenneth off, Grace seriously made a phone call to Linda.
"Grace, what did you say?"
Linda was immediately shocked, hardly believing what she heard.
"I'm sorry, Linda, for letting you down, but I've made up my mind."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I've thought it through."
The next day, Linda and Susan came to The Powell Manor together.
When they saw Grace's pale face and her frail body, they couldn't hold back and rushed to hug her, crying.
"Grace, why are you so haggard? I'll contact someone to send over some supplements, you must take them on time." Susan cried uncontrollably.
"Okay, thank you, Susan."
Linda also secretly wiped her tears.
Grace gently wiped them away for her and then spoke, "Linda, did you bring the documents?"
"According to your request, everything is ready. You can sign them if there are no issues."
"Linda, we've worked together for so long, I trust you."
Grace picked up the pen and signed the documents in one go.
Linda watched, feeling very distressed.
When Grace was about to sign the last and most important document, Linda couldn't hold back anymore and grabbed the pen, her face full of reluctance. "Grace, are you sure you don't want to reconsider?"
Grace's lips curved into a gentle smile. "Linda, don't worry, this decision wasn't made on a whim, it was made after careful consideration."
"So you don't need to worry, leaving entertainment isn't out of despair. On the contrary, I'm doing it for a fresh start."
Linda patted her hand, a rare smile appearing on her face. "Alright, I'm glad you think that way. You don't need to worry about the rest, leave it all to me. Just focus on taking care of yourself for now."
"The environment and conditions at The Powell Manor are quite good for recuperation. Once everything is settled, I'll come to see you again."
Grace nodded. "Alright, thank you, Linda."
After explaining everything, Grace felt much lighter.
Just after seeing Linda off, she noticed several missed calls from Willie on her phone.
When she was with Quentin, Willie had always been good to her, so she hesitated for a moment but decided to answer.
"Hello, Willie."
"Ms. Morgan, you finally answered. Mr. Taft fell ill after returning from your place yesterday. He's never been this sick before and refuses to go to the hospital. Ms. Morgan, could you please persuade him?"
As soon as Willie finished speaking, Grace heard Caroline's voice in the background: "Quentin, you're in bad shape. Can we go to the hospital? Or should I bring a doctor home?"
"I said no!"
Quentin's angry voice rang out.
Grace's grip on the phone tightened and then loosened.
In the end, she spoke slowly.
"Thank you, Willie, for all your care in the past. I always felt grateful, but you've found the wrong person this time."
"Ms. Stewart is Mr. Taft's fiancée. If he's sick, it's not my place to intervene. Besides, when someone is ill, they should see a doctor. You've got the wrong person; I don't know medicine."
Grace hung up the phone heartlessly.
In the evening, someone knocked on the door.
Grace thought it was someone calling her for dinner.
She didn't expect it to be Kenneth outside.
"Mr. Powell, you're home early today!"
"There wasn't much work today, and rarely. Come on, let's go have dinner together."
"Alright."
Sitting at the dining table, Grace noticed there were many dishes.
Not only were they well-balanced and nutritious, but they were also mostly mild.
She remembered that Kenneth liked spicy food.
In their previous meals together, there were always many spicy dishes on the table, but today there were none.
She also liked spicy food, but she shouldn't eat it recently.
"Everything is mild. Can you get used to it, Mr. Powell?" Grace asked thoughtfully.
Kenneth replied while eating, "My stomach hasn't been feeling well these days. The doctor advised me to eat mild food."
Grace felt relieved.
Just as they finished dinner, someone came to report: "Mr. Powell, Ms. Stewart is here."
"Caroline?" Kenneth was puzzled. "What is she here for?"
"Ms. Stewart said she's here to see Ms. Morgan."
Kenneth looked over, and Grace shook her head lightly. "Please refuse her, Mr. Powell. I have nothing to talk about with Caroline."
"Alright."
However, just as the servant left, they hurried back.
"Mr. Powell, Ms. Stewart said she must see Ms. Morgan today, and she won't leave until she does."
"Then let her stay there!"
As soon as Grace finished speaking, Caroline burst in like a madwoman. "Grace, you know why I'm here. Why won't you see me?"
"Ms. Stewart, do you think I have to see you just because you want to see me?"
"Grace, how can you be so heartless? Do you know Quentin is critically ill? Are you going to watch him die?"
"Caroline, your fiancé's have nothing to do with me. I said, when someone is sick, they should see a doctor. Coming to me is useless."
Caroline was furious. "How can you say that? You and Quentin were in love once. You know he wants to see you. How can you be so heartless?"
"I don't have a habit of visiting other people's fiancés. Ms. Stewart, it's not appropriate to trespass like this. You should leave quickly!"
Caroline initially wanted to test Grace's limits.
But she didn't expect Grace to be so heartless, not showing any mercy.
So, Caroline had to put down her pride and beg.
When she spoke again, her tone was much softer: "Grace, whatever your demands are, just say them. As long as you can get Quentin to go to the hospital, I'll agree to anything!"
"I want you to admit to framing me and attempting to murder me, and to turn yourself in to the police. Caroline, can you do that?"
Grace's sharp eyes shot over, coldly questioning.
