Chapter 494 Loving You is a Lonely Affair

Tina hesitated for a moment, then followed her heart and walked over.

"Vincent!" she said as she handed over the bag in her hand. "Thank you for the clothes. I've washed them all."

Brittany, standing opposite, couldn't stay calm upon hearing this.

"What is your relationship?"

"As you can see, we're boyfriend and girlfriend."

Just as Tina was about to speak, Vincent suddenly answered first.

Boyfriend and girlfriend?

Since when were they in that kind of relationship?

But soon, when she saw the disappointed look on Brittany's face, Tina immediately understood.

Vincent probably just wanted to use their relationship to make Brittany back off.

Tina had overthought it.

But even if it was fake, hearing words filled Tina's heart with a deep sense of joy, and the air around them seemed to sparkle with happiness.

"Vincent, you're lying to me, right?"

Sure enough, Brittany looked at Vincent in disbelief. "Mrs. Lucas said you didn't have a girlfriend, which is why she introduced us."

Vincent stood up and looked at Tina, waving her over.

At that moment, Tina felt she understood him.

He waved, and Tina obediently walked over to his side.

The next moment, Tina's palm felt warm.

Before she realized it, her soft little hand was gently wrapped in his, lightly squeezed.

His hand was so broad and strong!

Tina's heart raced, and she felt the air around her thin out. Her cheeks felt so warm, and her breath came in quick gasps.

No matter the reason, that hand-holding was sufficient to make Tina's heart race and become a memory she would cherish forever.

In her ear, Vincent's warm voice overflowed with tenderness. "I didn't have one before, but now I do."

"Sorry, I came to this date not for a blind date but to tell you that our life paths are completely different, and forcing it would be meaningless."

"If I spoke harshly, I hope you understand. Lastly, I sincerely wish you find someone suitable for you."

Listening to Vincent, Brittany was a bit hurt.

But Brittany, being a well-bred socialite, didn't cling on when everything was laid out clearly.

After a moment of silence, Brittany raised her head. "You are indeed, as they say, a breath of fresh air in your circle. The girl beside you is beautiful, and for someone as excellent as you to choose her, she must have something particularly outstanding."

"Thank you for your blessing. I also wish you both a long and happy life together."

With that, Brittany, carrying her designer bag, lightly flicked her smooth hair and gracefully turned to leave.

As soon as Brittany's figure disappeared, Vincent immediately let go of Tina's hand.

Vincent spoke at the same time, "I'm sorry for the trouble just now. Brittany was a blind date arranged by my mom. If I just refused, my mom might arrange other girls with different personalities and looks for me to meet."

"Since you said you were coming to return my clothes, I thought this might be the best solution, though it was a bit unfair to you."

Tina smiled generously, hiding the slight sadness in her heart.

"It's okay, I won't misunderstand anything. But since I helped you with such a big favor, can you agree to a small request of mine?"

"Of course."

"You agreed so readily, aren't you afraid I might ask you to do something bad? Or take advantage of your status and wealth?"

"No, you're not that kind of girl."

"Alright, then, I'll save this opportunity. If I need help in the future, will you help me once?"

Vincent nodded. "Sure."

Vincent and Tina had dinner at a nearby restaurant, but right in the middle of the meal, Vincent received a call for a task.

"Sorry, Dr. Ingram, I might need to leave early. I hope you don't mind."

Tina deliberately asked, "What if I do mind?"

Not expecting her to say that Vincent was stunned.

With a smile, Tina explained, "We've known each other for a while now, and you always call me Dr. Ingram. You can call me Tina, like you did just now."

Tina mustered up the courage to say this.

During the waiting process, Tina was anxious and nervous.

Under the table, she clenched her little hand, trying to act nonchalant.

Two minutes later, when she saw him struggling to say the name she wanted, Tina immediately smiled to hide her embarrassment. "No..."

"Tina, thank you so much for today!"

But just then, Vincent suddenly spoke.

Hearing that name, Tina's heart raced.

A single "Tina" softly spoken from his lips was sufficient to wash away all her unhappiness and gloom.

That day, Tina's world was filled with sunshine, and even the air she breathed was fragrant with flowers, making her feel intoxicated.

It was such a common name, called by many.

But when it came from his mouth, it felt different to Tina.

So, love can make a person irrational.

After Vincent left, Tina only took a few more bites of her food before leaving.

On her way down from the mall, she saw a photo printing machine.

While waiting for him in the café, Tina had secretly taken a photo.

At that moment, the soft light fell on his defined features, making the hard lines of his face appear particularly gentle, without the usual hardness and coldness.

It was at that moment that she suddenly felt Vincent wasn't so distant.

Vincent wasn't an invincible god; he was just an ordinary person.

Vincent, like her, had breath and a heartbeat.

The photo slowly emerged from the printer, warm. Tina took it out and carefully placed it in the inner pocket of her bag.

Back home, her gaze fell on the balcony, on Vincent's jacket.
