Chapter 325 Danielle Learns About Jessica's Pregnancy
Patricia didn't lose her cool and kept smiling, "Jessica, don't get all worked up. Take care of yourself. Don't worry; I'll make you see things my way."
Jessica just gave her the cold shoulder and walked off.
As soon as she got in the car, her phone rang. It was Danielle.
For some reason, she suddenly felt really upset.
"Mom, it's Jessica." The moment she picked up, she felt like crying.
"Where are you? I need to talk to you. I'll send someone to bring you home," Danielle's voice was super gentle.
"Okay, Mom, I'm in the car. I'll be home soon."
"Alright, I'll be waiting."
After hanging up, Jessica checked her phone. The news about her and Jack getting married was all over the internet.
To make things worse, Patricia had already thanked everyone for their congratulations. Just seeing her face made Jessica feel sick.
Her phone wouldn't stop ringing. Tina called, sounding worried, "Jessica, I just saw the news. What's going on? How did you get engaged to Dr. Smith?"
Jessica sighed, "It's not true. It's just a rumor, but I can't explain it right now. There's no way I'm marrying Jack."
"Everyone at work is talking about it. They say they saw another guy propose to you, and now suddenly your fiancé is Dr. Smith. I'll help clear things up."
"Thanks, Tina."
Looking out the window, she saw they were almost at the Ancestral villa.
When Jessica walked in, Danielle was already waiting. She was sitting on the sofa, legs crossed, reading a magazine. When she saw Jessica, she put down the magazine and picked up a steaming cup from the table.
Jessica felt flustered and nervous, but seeing Danielle so calm made her feel a bit better.
"Mom, I'm back."
"Sit down!" Danielle gestured and handed her a cup of tea.
"Thanks, Mom."
Taking a sip, Danielle looked at her and asked, "Do you know who Patricia and her son Jack are?"
Jessica nodded, "Yeah, she's Dad's..."
She couldn't finish the sentence.
Danielle said, "So, you know who they are. I usually don't get involved in your father's affairs, but I never thought they'd target you. How did you meet them?"
"Jack is the deputy director at my hospital. One time, I was having coffee with a friend and met him and Patricia. Since then, Patricia has been all over me."
Danielle suddenly slammed the teacup down, spilling tea everywhere. "This is insane, absolutely outrageous. I used to think she wouldn't cause any trouble, so I didn't bother with her. Now it seems I need to deal with her properly."
"Mom, thank you for helping me," Jessica said, looking at her gratefully.
"It's not just for you, but also for me and Gabriel. You and Gabriel should get back together soon."
Jessica looked up in surprise, "Mom, you knew?"
"I knew the day you and Gabriel got divorced. I just thought it was best for you to handle your own affairs, so I didn't interfere and gave you enough space."
Jessica said, "Mom, thank you so much. I have something else to tell you."
"Go ahead."
Jessica smiled and slowly said, "Mom, I'm pregnant!"
Danielle was first stunned, then her eyes widened in excitement. "Are you serious? You're really pregnant?"
"Yes." Jessica nodded vigorously. "It's been over a month."
She took out the ultrasound report from her bag and handed it to Danielle. "Mom, this is the test report. Take a look."
Danielle took the report with trembling hands. After looking at it several times and confirming that the pregnancy was real, she immediately smiled with joy.
"Mom, there's something else I need to confess. Patricia set me up with Jack in a hotel, and she insists the baby is Jack's. But I can assure you that nothing happened between me and Jack. The baby is Gabriel's." After Jessica finished speaking, she held her breath, very nervous, afraid that Danielle wouldn't believe her.
Unexpectedly, Danielle quickly nodded. "Don't worry, I believe you."
"Thank you, Mom."
"Come upstairs with me," Danielle said.
The two went to the second floor, and Danielle led Jessica to Xavier's room, taking a wooden box from a drawer. After unlocking it, she took out a document and handed it to Jessica. "Do you know why Patricia went to such lengths to make you marry Jack?"
Jessica shook her head, "I was really puzzled. With her personality, she wouldn't think much of me."
Danielle snorted coldly, her eyes suddenly sharp. "Someone like her always has ulterior motives. Marrying you is all about what you have. Not only that, but she also has designs on the Walton Family. It's simply wishful thinking."
With that, her gaze fell on the document in Jessica's hand. "Open it and see. You'll understand after reading it."
"Okay." After reading the entire document, Jessica was shocked. Her mouth dropped open, and she couldn't believe what she had just seen. "Mom, why did Grandpa give me so many shares? This is too much."
