Chapter 98 His Gentleness, His Indulgence

Gabriel turned around, looking at Quentin in disbelief. "Say that again, who gave it to you?"

"It was given to Grace by your wife, and Grace gave it to me. Any problem with that?" Quentin raised an eyebrow.

Quentin felt that his expression should be very clear.

"I'm leaving." With those words, Gabriel left.

On his way back, he drove fast. In the rain, the car seemed to fly.

When he arrived at home, Gabriel gently pushed open the door. In the bedroom, only a wall lamp emitted a faint light.

Jessica was sleeping on the bed. The French double bed was wide and large, but she only occupied a small area.

Approaching, Gabriel discovered that she was huddled up in bed, looking like a small bundle.

As he looked, a complex mix of emotions suddenly filled his chest.

He felt regret in his heart. Regardless, he shouldn't have left her alone here, especially on a rainy day like today, when she feared thunderstorms and rain the most.

Taking off his clothes, Gabriel gently got into bed and then held Jessica in his arms.

Perhaps she was too scared, so when she felt the warmth of his embrace and smelled his familiar scent, Jessica didn't resist and nestled in his arms.

In the morning, when Jessica opened her eyes and saw Gabriel, she was completely shocked.

How did he come back?

When did he come back?

She remembered when he left. Wasn't he in a fit of anger, slamming the door? How did he end up in her bed overnight?

This series of changes was indeed bizarre.

Although a series of questions ran through her mind, Jessica didn't wake Gabriel up.

Gently removing his hands from her waist, Jessica stealthily got out of bed. However, before she could leave the bed, she felt a tug on her waist.

The next moment, Gabriel pulled her into his arms.

"Why did you wake up so early? Did you sleep well?"

Because he hadn't fully woken up yet, Gabriel's voice was particularly deep and sexy, especially with that lazy tone, which was particularly intoxicating.

Jessica felt a bit nervous and quickly replied, "I slept well. I'm getting up now. If you haven't slept well, you can sleep a bit longer."

After saying that, she tried to get up.

However, with a single pull, Gabriel pulled her back into bed, his hands once again around her waist, "You have to sleep with me, I can't sleep without you."

Upon hearing this, Jessica's heart raced.

It was something she used to say to him often.

'When did he remember it?' she thought. He even delivered it back to her unchanged.

"Gabriel, are you being unreasonable?"

"Yes."

Gabriel elongated the last syllable, responding in a low voice. That deep tone was as sexy as ever.

"To enjoy your company, being a bit unreasonable is worth it," he stubbornly stated, still with his eyes closed, his hands possessively holding Jessica's waist.

For some reason, Jessica felt that at this moment, he was acting a bit spoiled.

But soon, she dismissed that thought.

‘Spoiled? Gabriel being spoiled? How could that be? It's definitely not possible.’

She must be overthinking it.

In the end, they didn't get up until very late.

When they got up, Jessica's stomach was growling. When they ate, she didn't hold back, she just dug in.

Seeing her eat so quickly, Gabriel kept reminding her, "Slow down, no one is going to take it from you. Eating too fast can make you choke."

"It's okay, I know my limits," Jessica replied.

After eating a large piece of bread, two bowls of cereal, and a glass of milk, Jessica finally felt her previously growling stomach being filled. She felt a bit more comfortable.

Setting down the glass of milk, she felt content.

Thinking that her baby was also enjoying a meal in her belly, Jessica smiled happily.

It was this smile that made Gabriel freeze on the spot.

Under the sunlight, her smile was as bright as ever, warm and radiant, like a beautiful painting.

At this moment, her gentle smile, captivating cheeks, beautiful swan-like neck, and rosy lips were all vividly captured in Gabriel's eyes.

Finally, his gaze settled on the hint of white at the corner of her mouth.

A faint white residue was stuck to Jessica's lip. It was probably because of the thick milk she had just drunk, accidentally leaving a trace.

"Jessica," Gabriel spoke, with an uncharacteristically gentle tone.

"What's wrong?" She looked up, puzzled.

Gabriel reached out and touched the corner of his mouth to remind her.

Jessica quickly realized and subconsciously wiped the corner of her mouth. But perhaps not getting the exact spot right, instead of removing the milk, she ended up spreading it across her lips.

Gabriel stood up, his tall figure walking over to Jessica, then stopping.

Suddenly, he bent down, wiping the corner of her mouth gently with his warm fingertips.

Jessica's heart raced wildly.

After all, he was the man she had loved for ten years, suddenly being so gentle with her. That intimate gesture left her unable to remain calm.

Although her heart was racing and she was thrilled, Jessica still sat up straight, showing no emotional fluctuations.

After wiping off the milk with his fingers, Gabriel took a tissue and gently wiped Jessica's mouth.
He remained bent over, silent, meticulously wiping.

For a moment, Jessica felt like she was a precious antique, and Gabriel was the one cherishing the treasure, because he was wiping so earnestly.

Only after he finished wiping her mouth did Gabriel straighten up, with a fond smile on his lips, saying "You're not a child anymore, why did you end up looking like a little kitten?"

"What's wrong with being a little kitten? I think little kittens are much cuter than little white cats," Jessica teased.

Gabriel nodded, "Yes, little kittens are great, even prettier."

Jessica felt increasingly puzzled.

'What's gotten into him today? He's so obedient, it's unlike him.'

After they finished eating, Gabriel went to the office, and Jessica rested at home because she was about to start working soon, embarking on a new journey in life. Working at the hospital would be very busy once it began, so she wanted to rest properly these days.

Just a few minutes after Gabriel left, the doorbell rang suddenly.

Jessica thought he had forgotten something and didn't think much of it, so she went to open the door.

To her surprise, she saw Carter.

Seeing him, Jessica almost immediately wanted to close the door.

But it was too late. Carter stood at the door, one hand firmly holding it open. "So you're not welcoming me?

"I had no choice. If you hadn't ignored so many of my calls, I wouldn't have had to come here to find you."

"We both know, every time you call me, you all ask for money from me. What else is there?" Jessica said coldly.

Carter quickly explained, "Jessica, you've really misunderstood me this time. I'm not asking for money from you, I have something important to tell you."

"What is it?"
