In the video, Jessica was curled up on a bed, wrapping herself in thick straw.

Gabriel dialed the number Diana had left.

On the other end, Diana laughed as if she had heard sweet nothings.

"Very well, in five minutes, I'll let you video call with Jessica. Remember, the more pain, suffering, and despair she feels, the safer I can keep her."
"If she realizes you're marrying me to save her, then I'm sorry, I'll make sure she and her babies die immediately."

Gabriel nodded, his voice bitter and heavy.
Five minutes later, Diana held up a phone, pointing it at Jessica.
The phone was aimed at the bed behind Jessica.
And on the bed was the straw she had wrapped herself in for warmth that night.
Perfect, just the way Diana wanted Gabriel to see.
The more he felt for Jessica, the harsher his words would be.
"Do you want to video call Gabriel?" Diana suddenly asked.
