Chapter 436 I Spoil My Grandson
After sitting down, Danielle's attention was entirely on Gilbert and Freddy.
She sat in the middle, with Gilbert and Freddy on either side of her.
"Jessica, come sit down!" Danielle invited Jessica to her seat. She was still enthusiastic about Jessica, after all, she was both surprised and happy.
As for Gabriel, he was completely ignored.
Jonah had it even worse; Danielle didn't even spare him a glance.
Danielle looked at her grandsons and asked with a smile, "Tell me your names."
"Grandma, my name is Gilbert Walton!"
"Grandma, my name is Freddy Morgan!"
Gilbert and Freddy answered adorably.
Hearing their sweet, soft voices, Danielle felt her heart melt.
She couldn't believe that she would receive such a gift in her lifetime.
Jessica coming back alive was already a huge surprise, and now she had two smart and adorable grandsons.
She was utterly satisfied.
"Gilbert, Freddy, although I missed a few years of your lives, I will double my love and care for you in the future. Whatever you like, after dinner, I'll take you to buy it."
"Okay, thank you, Grandma!" Gilbert and Freddy said in unison.
Gabriel, worried that Gilbert and Freddy might be spoiled, expressed his concern, "Mom, I know you're very happy, but they shouldn't be spoiled too much."
Danielle's eyes turned cold, and she shot a sharp look at him. "I almost forget about you. How dare you keep such a big thing from me for so long?"
Knowing he was being held accountable, Gabriel immediately pleaded, "Mom, I just wanted to surprise you! Today is your birthday."
"If you had told me earlier, I wouldn't have almost kicked my dear grandsons out of the house," Danielle said, touching Freddy and Gilbert's little faces, feeling heartbroken.
"Mom, okay, I was wrong about this, but these are two separate issues. Kids shouldn't be spoiled too much."
"If you want to be strict, be strict. You and Jessica, as their parents, handle the education part. I won't interfere, but in terms of daily life, as their grandmother, I must spoil my grandsons."
"Don't blame me for spoiling them too much. My little grandsons are already five years old, and this is the first time I have met them. How can I not spoil them?"
"But don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
Gabriel, knowing his mom was too happy and might overly indulge Gilbert and Freddy, felt relieved after hearing her words.
Everything was ready, and soon, the birthday cake was brought out.
Gabriel had personally ordered a large cake, and more importantly, the image on it was of their family of four plus Danielle.
As for Jonah, he wasn't in it.
Danielle looked at the family photo, feeling both warm and happy.
Now, she felt like a winner in life, with a daughter-in-law and two lovely grandsons.
She had no greater wishes for the future.
She only hoped for a harmonious and happy family.
"Hey, why isn't Grandpa in the family photo?" Freddy suddenly asked.
The atmosphere at the table became silent.
Jonah quickly smiled to ease the tension. "Because I made a mistake and was absent. I'll make sure to be in the next family photo, okay?"
"Okay, Grandpa, you have to work hard!" Freddy encouraged Jonah.
Gilbert also spoke up, "Grandpa, Mom said that if you know your mistake and correct it, you're still a good person. It's okay to make mistakes as long as you correct them. You'll still be a good grandpa."
Everyone laughed upon hearing his innocent words.
The tense atmosphere at the table was instantly relieved.
As for the birthday crown, Danielle placed it on Gilbert's head.
Seeing Freddy's interest, Gilbert immediately took it off and handed it to him. "Freddy, you wear it!"
"Gilbert, aren't you going to wear it?"
"You like it, so I'll let you have it. After all, you're my little brother!" Gilbert said generously.
"Thank you, Gilbert!"
After putting on the crown, Freddy narcissistically asked, "Dad, Mom, Grandpa, Grandma, do I look good wearing it?"
"You look great!" everyone replied with a smile.
Seeing everyone so happy, Charlotte stepped forward and said, "Mrs. Danielle Walton, on such an important day, with Mr. Gabriel Walton, Mrs. Jessica Walton, Mr. Gilbert Walton, and Mr. Freddy Morgan all here, why not take some photos as a memento?"
It was indeed a very memorable day, and the suggestion was great, so Danielle immediately nodded. "Okay!"
"Alright, I'll call the photographer in. He's been waiting outside."
The photographer came in and guided them on how to stand.
Soon, Danielle, Jessica, Gabriel, Gilbert, and Freddy were all in position.
But Jonah still stood aside and didn't join them.
The photographer said, "Mr. Jonah Walton, please stand next to Mrs. Danielle Walton."
Gilbert and Freddy also urged, "Grandpa, come over here!"
Jonah still didn't move. He looked at Gabriel first, then finally at Danielle.
Looking at Gilbert and Freddy beside her, Danielle said calmly, "Gilbert and Freddy are calling you. Aren't you coming over?"
Hearing this, Jonah immediately responded loudly, "Coming!"
He quickly walked over and stood next to Gilbert.
They took several more photos together.
Finally, Danielle requested a photo with just Gilbert and Freddy.
She stood in the middle, with Gilbert and Freddy on either side.
Originally, this was supposed to be the last photo, but suddenly, the photographer looked at his camera and said, "Mr. Jonah Walton and Mrs. Danielle Walton, you always stand on either side of the two little ones. How about standing together and holding the kids' hands for one more shot?"
"Sure!" Gilbert nodded with a smile and already held Jonah's hand, pushing him towards Danielle.
Looking at the camera, the photographer said, "Mr. Jonah Walton, please put your arm around Mrs. Danielle Walton's shoulder."
Jonah hesitated.
For him, being able to attend Danielle's birthday and take photos with her was already a huge step forward.
But putting his arm around Danielle was something he didn't even dare to think about.
The photographer repeated his instruction.
Jonah still didn't move.
At this point, Gilbert couldn't stand it anymore. "Come on, Grandpa, you need to be proactive. Grandma isn't shy, so you shouldn't be either."
This gave Jonah a lot of courage.
Slowly, he raised his hand.
Then, almost holding his breath, he moved closer bit by bit.
Finally, he gently placed his hand on Danielle's shoulder.
