Chapter 387 Jessica is Dead 2
Oscar couldn't say another word.
He just stood there, not daring to lift his head, enveloped in a shroud of sorrow.
Gabriel had anticipated something, but he couldn't believe it. Unless he heard it with his ears and saw it with his own eyes.
He didn't believe his Jessica would...
Supporting himself in the wheelchair, Gabriel stood up and staggered towards Oscar.
He reached out with trembling hands, grabbed Oscar by the collar, lifted him, and commanded sternly, "Look up, Oscar, look up."
"Finish what you were saying," At that moment, Gabriel's voice was still restrained, he was desperately trying to control himself.
However, when Oscar just stood there, crying silently, unable to say a word.
Gabriel suddenly erupted in anger.
He raised his voice and shouted, "Oscar, answer me, answer me!"
Oscar finally lifted his head, tears streaming down his face, and said, "Mr. Walton, the doctor said..."
"Mrs. Walton had a massive hemorrhage and couldn't make it."
After saying this, Oscar felt a deep sorrow in his heart.
Gabriel's hand, which had been gripping Oscar's collar, suddenly dropped.
He just stared ahead, his eyes vacant and hollow, almost devoid of any light.
Time seemed to freeze, as well as Gabriel.
For a long time, he maintained the same posture, not moving an inch.
If it weren't for his breathing, one might think he was a statue.
Suddenly, he reached out, one hand grabbing Oscar's collar, the other pointing to the operating room in front of him. "Which operating room, this one?"
Oscar nodded.
Gabriel pushed him aside and, like a madman, ran towards it.
He fell, got up, and ran.
He fell again, got up, and ran again.
After several such falls, he finally reached the door of the operating room.
This time, he completely forgot the pain in his body, feeling only the pain in his heart.
It was as if someone was slicing his heart with a knife.
The pain was suffocating.
How could this be?
Suddenly, he began shaking his head vigorously, muttering to himself, "No, it can't be. Jessica is a lucky person, she will be fine."
The doctor was lying to him, Oscar was lying to him. As long as he didn't see it with his own eyes, didn't feel her breath himself, he wouldn't believe it.
Turning around, Gabriel staggered towards the ward.
The nurse couldn't bear to watch and immediately pushed the wheelchair over.
Gabriel struggled into the wheelchair and sped towards the ward like the wind.
As soon as he reached the door, he saw a tall figure inside, a familiar police uniform.
Remembering that Oscar had said they had a car accident on the way and that the police had arrived in time to save them, Gabriel didn't think much of it.
However, when he wheeled himself inside and saw Vincent's face, Gabriel was immediately surprised.
"It's you?" he said.
Upon seeing Gabriel, the usually restrained Vincent became furious.
He rushed forward, grabbed Gabriel by the collar, and threw a punch.
"Gabriel, you said you would take good care of her, and what happened? Look at what she went through!"
"Do you know that until the moment she closed her eyes, she was still hoping, still waiting, thinking you would come? But where were you? Why did you leave her alone in the hospital?"
Vincent glared at Gabriel, his fists clenched, veins bulging on his forehead in anger.
As a police officer, he always remembered his duty.
He must not act impulsively.
But whenever he thought of seeing Jessica at the car accident scene, bleeding, her water broken, her face pale with pain, trembling in his arms, he felt suffocated.
And the door of the operating room.
The words "massive hemorrhage" were so terrifying.
The events of a few hours ago felt like a tragic movie, which he didn't even dare to recall.
"Gabriel, Jessica doesn't want to see you. Get out," Vincent said sternly.
But Gabriel shook his head. "No, she is my wife. I must stay with her, watch over her."
In this life, whether she was alive or dead, he would stay with her and never leave again.
"You don't deserve it. The door is open, leave now," Vincent said, not allowing Gabriel to stay.
"I said, I won't leave," Gabriel looked Vincent in the eye, fearless and unwavering.
Vincent was equally resolute. "I'll say it again, leave now, or I won't hesitate to use my fists."
However, before Gabriel could respond, the nurse behind him couldn't hold back any longer.
"Can't you see he's injured? He just had surgery, and the anesthesia hasn't even worn off yet," the nurse said indignantly.
Vincent sneered, "Is that so? Then he should just go back and rest."
At this point, Gabriel turned to the nurse behind him. "Thank you, you can leave now."
With that, he got up from the wheelchair and returned it to the nurse.
The nurse was worried about his condition and hesitated to leave.
Gabriel added, "There's nothing more for you to do here. I'll send my apology to you later."
With his words, the nurse had no choice but to leave with the wheelchair.
Instantly, the room was left with only Vincent and Gabriel.
Gabriel looked at Vincent. "I know you won't listen to my explanations. But I just want to say one thing: I love Jessica, I love her with my life. I never abandoned her."
"Now, as long as she's in this ward, whether alive or dead, I will stay with her and never leave again."
"If you need to vent your anger, or hit me to feel better, fine, go ahead. I won't fight back."
With that, Gabriel stood in front of Vincent and closed his eyes.
Vincent clenched his fists, the sound of his knuckles cracking.
Looking at Gabriel's face, he raised his fist.
However, just as he was about to strike, he saw the blood seeping through Gabriel's chest and slowly lowered his fist.
"No matter what your reasons are, no matter how justified you think you are, Gabriel, do you know what childbirth means to a woman? How could you let her face all this alone?"
"Now she's gone, forever. Does your regret and explanation matter?"
