Chapter 126 Gabriel Agrees to Divorce
After Jessica finished speaking, Gabriel suddenly lifted his head and looked at her with a haunting gaze, asking, "Are you sure you're not divorcing me because of another man?"
Jessica smiled silently and wryly.
How could he think that?
Jessica said, "So, you just can't stand the thought of your possession becoming someone else's one day. Gabriel, you see, you're just being possessive."
He had never loved her.
"Eat." Gabriel picked up a spoonful of oatmeal and brought it to Jessica's lips, swiftly changing the subject.
Damn it, he didn't want to discuss divorce with her at all right now.
"I have no appetite." Jessica turned her face away. She didn't even glance at the bowl.
Pulling up the quilt, she slipped entirely under it, wrapping herself into a tight bundle.
"Jessica." Gabriel called her name, his tone laced with suppressed anger.
He set down the bowl, yanked the quilt away, and pulled Jessica out from under it. "Eat."
"I said, I don't want to eat." Jessica finished speaking and got out of bed, her bare feet hitting the floor.
Perhaps she moved too quickly, for suddenly, her foot slipped, and she began to fall to the ground.
Fortunately, Gabriel's quick reflexes allowed him to catch her in time.
"Let go of me." Jessica pushed him away without thinking and burrowed back under the quilt.
"Come out." Gabriel said, looking at Jessica on the bed.
Jessica clutched the quilt tightly, refusing to acknowledge him.
After several rounds, neither was willing to back down or give in.
Finally, Gabriel gestured to a servant, who brought over a cup. Gabriel took a large gulp, then stood up, yanked the quilt away again, and pulled Jessica out from under it.
"Gabriel, I said I don't—" Before Jessica could finish her sentence, Gabriel's lips sealed hers.
Immediately, something incredibly sweet slid into her mouth.
Jessica couldn't help but curse as she realized what was happening. "You bastard."
He was insane; he had forced glucose into her mouth. She thought Gabriel had lost his mind; this was definitely not something a sane person would do.
"Gabriel, you're a complete pervert." Jessica glared at him angrily.
Gabriel wiped the corner of his mouth, looking at her with an air of nonchalance. "You haven't eaten all day; your body hasn't gotten enough nutrients. Since you refuse to eat, I need to use this method to replenish your nutrition. Now, Jessica, you choose: eat, or I continue to feed you this way."
Jessica fumed, "You're a madman. I won't choose. Why should I? I choose neither.
"Go away," Jessica said, pushing him.
Unexpectedly, that push gave Gabriel another opportunity. He pulled Jessica into his arms, took another gulp of glucose, and fed it all into her mouth.
"No." Jessica struggled frantically, but it was useless; the glucose still flowed into her stomach.
Next, Gabriel held her hands with one of his, preventing her from flailing, while the other hand gripped her jaw, forcing all the glucose into her body.
He fed her the entire bottle.
When he finally let go, Jessica was on the verge of tears.
She pounded on Gabriel’s chest. "You bastard, you lunatic, how could you do this to me?"
She cried bitterly, tears streaming down her face.
Suddenly, a wave of nausea hit her, and Jessica covered her mouth, running frantically to the bathroom.
Soon, she vomited all the glucose she had just ingested, leaving nothing behind.
When Gabriel entered, Jessica had just vomited a mouthful of blood.
Her mouth was covered in blood in an instant.
Jessica looked at herself in the mirror, utterly incredulous. Blood? Had she really vomited blood?
"Jessica, are you alright?" Gabriel was genuinely terrified when he saw that she had vomited blood.
After cleaning her up, Gabriel immediately carried Jessica back to the bed. Once she was there, Jessica wrapped herself tightly in the quilt.
But even so, she still felt cold.
So very cold.
It was as if a chill was continuously emanating from within her, growing incessantly.
Jessica shivered all over, her upper lip chattering against her lower lip. Even though she wanted to speak, her teeth clattered, and she could only manage to say, brokenly and painfully. "Gabriel, I'm cold, so cold. Warm me up."
She truly felt frozen to the core. It was as if there was no warmth left in her body.
Gabriel held her tightly, and they both burrowed under the quilt, adding two more layers of blankets.
But even so, Jessica's body continued to tremble under the covers.
"Call the doctor immediately." After saying that, Gabriel called Oscar, "Loren Schneider's flight lands today. Go to the airport and bring him to my house."
Oscar asked, "Mr. Walton, didn't you say not to pick him up before?"
Gabriel explained, "Jessica is sick. Go get him now and bring him here to see her."
Oscar replied, "Yes, Mr. Walton."
Jessica was still shivering uncontrollably under the covers. Her entire body was cold, yet her forehead was drenched in cold sweat.
Her clothes were soon soaked through, creating a large puddle.
"Run a hot bath immediately," Gabriel ordered.
Once the hot water was ready, Gabriel carried Jessica into the bathtub. The warmth of the water finally brought a bit of heat back to her body.
But soon, she realized that Gabriel was in the same bathtub with her.
"Get out." She said, blushing and pushing him away.
Gabriel softly said, "Jessica. Honey. You're still sick; I need to stay with you."
Jessica shook her head stubbornly. "No, I don't want that.
"Gabriel, we're getting a divorce. We can't do this. You can't treat me like this. I'm begging you, please leave." As she spoke, she cried, her already pale face growing even paler. Tears streamed down her cheeks.
Gabriel finally relented, getting out of the bathtub and instructing, "Come in and help Mrs. Walton bathe and change her clothes."
The servant replied, "Yes, Mr. Walton."
After the bath, Jessica felt a bit better.
But as soon as she got out of the tub, she felt dizzy, and the dizziness grew worse. She tried to hold on, but she fainted while getting dressed.
The servant cried out in panic. "Mr. Walton, something's wrong! Mrs. Walton has fainted."
"What?" Gabriel carried Jessica to the bed, holding her hands tightly, saying, "Where's the doctor? Why isn't he here yet?"
The servant said, "Mr. Walton, there's a traffic jam. The doctor you called and Dr. Schneider are both stuck on the road."
Meanwhile, Jessica's body grew colder and colder.
Even though she had just taken a bath, she felt as if she had just been pulled from an icy lake.
"Jessica, hold on, please hold on. Didn't you want a divorce? I agree. If you get better, I'll let you go. I'll respect your decision. I'll let you go, I won't hold you back anymore, okay? Just get better." Gabriel pleaded as he held her hand, his heart pounding with anxious fear.
