Chapter 313 Jack's Identity

"Yeah, you heard me right. Jessica and I have had sex."

Jack's words hit Gabriel like a sledgehammer, leaving him shattered.

Gabriel couldn't hold back anymore. He lunged at Jack, fists flying.

First, he landed one on Jack's mouth, then another on his face.

After just two punches, Jack's mouth was already a bloody mess.

But Jack didn't fight back. He just stood there, wiping the blood away, smirking at Gabriel.

Jack sneered, "You can beat me all you want. It won't change a thing."

"Then I'll kill you," Gabriel growled through clenched teeth.

With that, he kicked Jack to the ground.

Gabriel grabbed Jack's collar, but Jack wasn't going down without a fight. He fought back hard.

Soon, they were rolling around, brawling, and the other customers in the coffee shop quickly bailed.

Even the staff, seeing how intense the fight was, kept their distance.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash as Gabriel swung a chair and smashed it over Jack's back.

One could almost hear the bones crack. Jack spat out blood and crumpled to the floor.

Jessica had just gone to the restroom, and this was the scene she walked back into.

At first, she thought she was seeing things.

She had hoped that once Jack explained everything to Gabriel, they could move on, and she and Gabriel could start fresh.

But she never imagined it would go this sideways, completely against her expectations.

The fight was brutal, and Jessica didn't waste any time. She rushed over.

When she got there, Gabriel had Jack pinned to the ground, his eyes wild, like a crazed lion.

Jack was on the ground, gasping for air, his pupils dilated, looking like he was about to pass out.

Jessica screamed, "Gabriel, let go! You're gonna kill him!"

Gabriel was already in a rage, and hearing Jessica plead for Jack only fueled his anger.

Instead of letting go, he tightened his grip.

Jack's face turned pale, his eyes starting to glaze over.

Jessica was frantic, shouting and trying to pull Gabriel's arm away. "Gabriel, let go! Calm down, please! What happened?"

She had known him for years, and he had never been like this.

This was the first time she had seen him so out of control; there had to be a reason. It couldn't be for nothing.

"Gabriel, I'm begging you. Calm down and let go, please?" Jessica pleaded desperately, her voice soft, trying not to provoke him.

She was terrified that if Jack died, Gabriel would be charged with murder.

Gabriel was the heir to the Walton Family, the CEO of the Walton Group. He had a bright future ahead of him. His life was just beginning; he couldn't become a murderer.

Gabriel was still fuming.

He couldn't calm down enough to hear what Jessica was saying.

So, to Gabriel, Jessica's words took on a whole different meaning.

"Do you care about him that much?" Gabriel asked, his eyes turning cold and distant.

Seeing his expression, Jessica's heart sank. She shook her head, trying to explain, "No, Gabriel, it's not like that. I just..."

But he cut her off, "Enough, I don't want to hear it."

With that, Gabriel suddenly let go of Jack's neck and stormed out.

He didn't look back at Jessica even once.

His indifference and coldness felt like a dagger to her heart, leaving her in agony.

Jessica clutched her chest; the pain was unbearable.

But she didn't have time to dwell on it.

Watching him leave, Jessica frantically chased after him, shouting, "Gabriel, let me explain; it wasn't..."

But he was already gone, like a ghost in the wind.

Suddenly, everything felt empty.

There was nothing left.

Only the cold wind howled, one gust after another.

Each gust felt like it was piercing her heart, not just her skin.

Each blow was excruciatingly painful.

Jessica crouched down, hugging her frail body, unable to control herself.

How did it come to this?

Everything was fine. He knew it was a misunderstanding, knew nothing had happened between her and Jack, and had said he believed her and came to take her home.

Just moments ago, she had even thought that if he proposed, she would say yes without hesitation.

But now?

How did everything fall apart in just a few minutes?

Now, she didn't even know what had happened, and she was left alone.

Maybe he never really believed her and still thought something had happened between her and Jack.

So, he cared. He still cared.

Otherwise, she couldn't find any reason to excuse him.

Looking up, Jessica forced a bitter smile. "Men, they always care. They still prefer 'clean' girls."

She was too naive!

Whether something really happened or not, or just sleeping in the same bed, it was all the same to them.

Touching her face, Jessica suddenly felt she couldn't cry anymore.

But if he cared, why give her hope? Why say those things to her, making her hold on?

Those words were still on her phone: [Jessica, I want to be clear. I want you, just you. No matter what you become or what you've been through, you're the one I want to spend my life with.]

How long had it been?

Now it seemed like a cruel joke.

In the end, it was all lies.

Gabriel stumbled out, utterly lost and in extreme pain.

Before this, Jessica had said nothing happened between her and that man, and he had believed her.

But after seeing Jack, he knew he was wrong.

He believed Jessica, but he didn't trust Jack.

Jack was a schemer, always looking for ways to get back at him and wishing him the worst. How could he pass up such a golden opportunity?

How could he tell Jessica that he and Jack were not strangers?

Jack was his father's illegitimate son.
