Chapter 796 Quentin Went to Find It 1

Mark immediately stopped her, "No need, I can handle this."

"Really?" Grace was worried he was just trying to comfort her.

"Of course, when have I ever lied to you? Besides, Quentin went through all this trouble just to control us, didn't he? He's probably waiting smugly for us to call and beg, so he can take the opportunity to make demands."

Grace thought about it and felt he made a lot of sense.

When lunch arrived, the rich aroma quickly overshadowed their discussion.

Both of them were quite hungry, so they ate with great focus.

They didn't notice a familiar figure sitting not far from them.

After finishing their meal, they each went back to their rooms to rest.

Since they had worked up a sweat in the morning, Grace took a shower as soon as she got in, thinking it would help her sleep better.

Just as she finished her shower and changed into pajamas, the doorbell rang.

She didn't know anyone here except Mark, so she assumed it was him.

"Mark, what's up?"

She opened the door, but the words caught in her throat when she saw who was standing there. She couldn't utter a single word.

Quentin? How could it be him?

Wasn't he supposed to be at work in his company?

How did he find this place?

Realizing what was happening, Grace's instinct was to run.

She needed to get as far away as possible; she couldn't let Quentin catch her, or it would definitely spell trouble.

"Stunned? Not going to invite me in..." Quentin hadn't finished his sentence when the door suddenly slammed shut.

The door closed so quickly, and Quentin hadn't expected Grace to shut it, so his nose hit the hard door panel directly.

His nose started bleeding instantly.

Feeling the warm liquid under his nose, Quentin touched it lightly and saw the blood. He was utterly devastated.

"Grace, open the door!"

He reached out and knocked on the door forcefully.

But Grace sat on the sofa, pretending not to hear anything.

"I'll say it one more time, open the door. I'll give you one chance, or I'll break it down!"

His threats continued outside, but Grace wasn't scared.

This hotel was average in other aspects, but the door design made her feel secure—it was sturdy and thick.

Not even five people could push it open.

Sitting on the sofa, she drank a large glass of water, but her heart couldn't calm down.

Just thinking about Quentin's face made her extremely annoyed.

Quentin had almost driven her crazy recently. She had finally come out to relax and travel, hoping to forget about him for a while, but here he was again.

What a jerk!

A scumbag!

He had already decided to marry someone else, yet he kept coming here to mess with her.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Outside, Quentin lost his temper and started kicking the door.

The noise startled Grace.

But soon, it became quiet outside, and she figured he had given up.

Grace put on her headphones and lay on the bed, ready to sleep.

After a while, the phone in the room started ringing incessantly.

She knew it was Quentin's doing.

She was so angry that she covered her head with the blanket, trying to force herself to sleep.

But the ringing continued, tormenting her.

Finally, unable to stand it, Grace got up, walked around the phone, and unplugged it.

Finally, peace.

Sure enough, there were no disturbances for over ten minutes. She closed her eyes and slowly felt sleepy.

Just before she fell asleep, she even thought, no matter how resourceful Quentin was, there were things he couldn't do.

She finally felt a bit at ease.

Maybe he couldn't take it anymore and left in a huff.

In a daze, she suddenly heard the fire alarm.

Grace was immediately terrified. She didn't have time to grab anything; she threw off the blanket and ran out without even putting on her shoes.

As soon as she reached the door, she saw Quentin waiting there, lurking.

Realizing what was happening, Grace looked at the empty hotel hallway and understood everything.

Unable to hold back, she exploded, "Quentin, are you crazy? Do you know you scared me? I thought I was going to die."

Tears started streaming down her face.

When the alarm went off, she was genuinely terrified.

Quentin reached out and hugged her tightly, apologizing gently, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I didn't know you'd be so scared."

Grace pushed him away, feeling extremely wronged, "You liar, you did it on purpose."

"Don't you know that scaring people can kill them?"

Seeing her vent her emotions, Quentin felt relieved.

With a faint smile, he reached for Grace's hand, about to kiss it.

Grace pulled her hand away. "Don't touch me, you disgust me!"

Quentin wasn't angry; he continued to look at her tenderly, "Grace, so you are afraid of dying?"

Grace gave him a cold look.

Of course, she was afraid of dying. Who wasn't?

She was young, with plenty of time to live. The world was so wonderful, and she hadn't had enough of it yet!

Suddenly, she felt a tight grip, and the next moment, Quentin hugged her tightly.

"Who isn't? I'm young, not married, no kids." She replied.

"I want to live to a ripe old age, holding hands with the one I love, experiencing growing old together."

Everything was warm and cozy, and Quentin's expression softened. He even started imagining a future with Grace.

A rare smile appeared on his lips, and his gaze became tender.

Suddenly, Grace changed her tone, "Why am I telling you this? It's not like you're the one."

Quentin's gentle expression shattered, and he gripped her hand so tightly it almost made a sound, "Grace, what did you say? Say it again?"

"Who do you want to grow old with?"

Grace struggled to free her hand, "I'm not wrong. When we're old, Caroline will be by your side. My Mr. Right hasn't appeared yet, so how would I know who it is?"

"Grace, do you know I could strangle you right now?" He was so angry that his teeth were chattering.

He hugged her tightly and wouldn't let go, almost like a madman.

What he really wanted to tell her was: he wasn't afraid of dying; he was only afraid of a life without her.
