Chapter 298 Ms. Morgan was Well-behaved after Getting Drunk

Just as Gabriel was about to say something, Jessica quickly put her hand over his mouth.

"Shh, don't say it out loud," she whispered. "Keep it in your heart. If you say it, it won't come true."

After watching the meteor shower, they headed home, both feeling pretty satisfied.

As they got into the car, the bumpy mountain road made the car shake a bit.

Jessica was still in awe, thinking about the meteor shower they had just seen.

"So, you brought me here just to find the best spot to watch the meteor shower, huh?" Jessica asked.

She wasn't a kid anymore; she knew a grand meteor shower like that wasn't just a coincidence during dinner.

"Yeah, you're getting smarter," Gabriel said, giving her nose a playful pinch, feeling a little flutter in his heart.

Once they got off the mountain, the car hit a smooth road and picked up speed.

The car's temperature started to rise. The late hours and the wine she'd had combined to make Jessica feel dizzy and incredibly sleepy.

"I'm so sleepy," she said.

Gabriel reached out and rested her head on his shoulder. "If you want to sleep, just lean on my shoulder."

She leaned over and closed her eyes.

At a red light, Oscar asked, "Mr. Walton, should I take Ms. Morgan home or straight to your place?"

"To my place."

"Okay."

When they arrived, Gabriel saw Jessica sleeping soundly with a faint, satisfied smile on her face. He didn't wake her, just carried her in his arms.

All the way to the bedroom, Gabriel laid her on the bed.

He wiped her face and feet, then covered her with a blanket.

After all that, he looked at the peacefully sleeping Jessica and kissed her forehead.

Finally, he quietly left the room.

Jessica slept deeply.

Even the alarm didn't wake her, so she slept in a bit.

It wasn't until Gabriel thought it was getting too late that he gently called her, "Jessica, wake up. It's time for work."

But Jessica, lying in bed, didn't respond at all.

Gabriel was worried; if he called her softly, she wouldn't respond, but if he called her loudly, he was afraid of scaring her.

Finally, he came up with a good idea.

He lowered his head and deliberately brushed his beard against Jessica's cheek.

Sure enough, this trick worked, and Jessica quickly woke up.

Still groggy, she mumbled, "Hmm, what? Don't poke me; go away."

Gabriel chuckled softly and brushed his beard against her again.

This time, Jessica opened her eyes.

When she saw everything in front of her and Gabriel, she was still groggy and didn't react for a while, just staring blankly.

"What's wrong? Why are you daydreaming?" Gabriel affectionately ruffled her hair.

"How did I end up at your place?" Jessica asked.

"You were drunk last night and slept deeply, so I brought you back to rest."

"Did we...?"

She instinctively asked, then looked at Gabriel.

Even if she didn't finish her sentence, he got it.

Gabriel smiled and said, "I swear, Ms. Morgan was well-behaved after getting drunk. You didn't go crazy, didn't hug or kiss me, and didn't make any inappropriate advances."

Jessica was silent.

"I wasn't asking that. I was asking if we..."

Her face turned red as she mustered the courage to ask, "Did anything happen between us?"

"Silly girl," Gabriel leaned in, his cheek pressed against Jessica's, and answered, "No, nothing happened. You slept all night, and I crashed in the guest room."

Jessica was about to breathe a sigh of relief.

His breath brushed against her ear as he continued, "Although I was tempted and really wanted to, I didn't want to do that without your consent, nor did I want you to wake up with any regrets."

"Thank you, Gabriel."

No matter if she was being a bit sentimental, she thanked him for his respect and understanding.

Because they took their time getting up, they were running late, so they rushed to the hospital without having breakfast.

Since Kathleen had a specialist appointment today, Jessica followed to help and learn.

The entire department was packed all morning, not just inside but even in the hallway outside.

Kathleen was always kind and compassionate. Whenever she had an appointment, no matter how many patients there were, she would see every last one, no matter how late it got.

So, she often finished around one or two in the afternoon.

Jessica hadn't had breakfast today and had been busy all morning without a break, so she was very hungry by now.

However, today was relatively lucky.

The last appointment was called at noon, which was much earlier than usual.

Kathleen smiled at her, "If you're hungry, go to the cafeteria to eat. You don't have to wait for me. There are fewer people today, so I'll be done soon. Remember to always have breakfast on time; otherwise, your body won't be able to handle it when you're busy."

"No, Dr. Johnson, it's almost done anyway. I'll wait until we're finished."

At that moment, the door opened, and the last patient sat down in front of them.

However, when Jessica saw who it was, her eyes widened instantly.

Diana, it was her.

She actually found her way here?

As soon as she came in, Diana looked directly at Kathleen, saying, "Dr. Johnson, I'm here for a consultation today, but not with you. I'm here to see your student."

"Dr. Johnson, I know her. She has some mental issues. You don't need to worry about her; I'll take care of it."

With that, Jessica pulled Diana out of the department and found a quiet corner.

"Diana, are you crazy!" Jessica looked at her furiously, asking.

"Yes, I'm crazy, so I went through all this trouble to come all the way here to see you."

"You're nuts," Jessica said, leaving her behind, not wanting to deal with her anymore.

But Diana relentlessly followed, saying, "Jessica, I'm giving you two choices: One, we talk; two, I'll always book the last appointment with Dr. Johnson and file a complaint against her."

Jessica said coldly, "Diana, how can you be so shameless? And there's nothing to talk about between us."

"Really?" Diana sneered.

She reached into her bag, calmly took something out, and unfolded it in front of Jessica, saying, "This necklace, Gabriel gave it to me the night I saved him."

"So what?" Jessica sneered, looking at her coldly, "So you think I should let you have him because of this necklace? Or do you think a mere necklace can come between me and him?"
