Chapter 321 Taking on a Man's Responsibility
Jessica put on a show, clutching her face and saying, "Huh? Pale? Maybe I just overdid it with the foundation this morning."
Gabriel sighed, giving her a knowing look. "Jessica, you're a terrible liar."
He added, "You didn't even put on makeup when you left the house today."
"Really? Guess I remembered wrong."
"So, what's up? Why do you look so off?" Gabriel pressed.
Jessica finally spoke, "It's nothing, really. I just didn't like lunch, so I barely ate."
Gabriel, concerned, touched her belly. "You can't be picky now that you're pregnant. You need to set a good example. If you're fussy, the baby will be too!"
Despite his words, Gabriel continued, "I'll have the maid bring you lunch every day from now on."
"No need, I swear this is the last time. I'll eat properly from now on and set a good example for the baby!"
"You said the same thing last time you skipped a meal. Did you keep that promise?" Gabriel was skeptical.
Jessica smiled, pinching his cheek playfully. "Gabriel, you're the cutest. I promise, this time I'll stick to it. If I don't, you can have the maid supervise me!"
Seeing her act so adorably, Gabriel couldn't resist and nodded in agreement.
"Just this once, no more exceptions. If it happens again, I..."
Before Gabriel could finish, Jessica gently covered his mouth with her hand.
Gabriel immediately stopped talking.
The temperature in the car was just right.
Maybe because she hadn't napped at noon or was pregnant, Jessica quickly fell asleep leaning against Gabriel.
Coincidentally, she woke up just as the car stopped.
"Did you sleep well? Want to nap a bit more?" Gabriel leaned in and asked gently.
"No," Jessica said, "Tina should be arriving soon, right?"
"She'll be about ten minutes late."
Meanwhile, Tina sat in the spacious luxury car, completely stunned.
Jessica had said her boyfriend would send a car to pick her up, but she never expected it to be a limited-edition luxury car.

At the restaurant, the waiter smiled and led her to a private room.

Tina's eyes welled up as she looked at Jessica. "Seeing your boyfriend, I'm relieved. He can totally protect you and give you a comfortable life. Jessica, you're gonna be happy."
"I won't worry about those rumors anymore, or about others attacking you. Jessica, you've finally found your happiness."
"That's wonderful."
Saying this, Tina started crying, "I feel like I'm marrying off my daughter!"
Jessica reached out to wipe her tears, saying, "Let's go back in. I ordered your favorite dishes."
"Okay, then I won't hold back."
After the meal, Gabriel got a phone call.
Jessica went to the restroom, leaving only Tina and Gabriel in the private room.
After hanging up, Gabriel looked at Tina, asking, "Where's Jessica?"
"She went to the restroom," Tina replied.
"I'll go find her." Gabriel lazily draped his coat over his arm and walked out with his long legs.
Taking a deep breath, Tina called out, "Mr. Walton, can I talk to you?"
Gabriel paused, looking at Tina incredulously, his tone cold, "You're Jessica's colleague. It's better to say whatever you have to say in front of Jessica."
Tina was silent.
After understanding his words, Tina couldn't help but smile, "Mr. Walton, you're overthinking. I have no interest in you! Actually, I didn't come here just for the meal today. I mainly wanted to meet you and say a few words."
Gathering her courage, she continued, "Especially since these words really can't be said in front of Jessica."
Gabriel turned around, his expression cold, saying, "Go ahead."
If she had known that he had such a background, Tina wouldn't have come, as it greatly affected the equality of their conversation and also added to her pressure.
Taking a deep breath, Tina looked at him and spoke steadily and firmly, "Mr. Walton, although I don't know when your relationship with Jessica started, I can see that she loves you very much."
"This morning, the whole hospital knew about her pregnancy. Overnight, she became famous in our hospital. Everyone knows there's an unmarried pregnant Dr. Morgan in the cardiology department."
