Chapter 456 Thinking of You Day and Night

"Danielle, are you still worried about me? I'm hurt, and you're very anxious," Jonah asked urgently and expectantly.

Danielle remained silent.

Jonah continued, "Freddy and Gilbert told me."

"Told you what?"

"They called me and said you were very worried about me, so they made the call."

Recalling the sly looks on Gilbert and Freddy's faces, Danielle instantly understood.

She quickly withdrew her hand and said in a flat tone, "You misunderstood. I didn't ask them to call; they did it on their own."

"How is that possible?" Jonah murmured.

Almost instantly, he felt his blood run cold, as if it had frozen.

It was as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him.

A chill that penetrated his heart.

"Danielle, you weren't worried about me?"

Jonah still couldn't believe it and asked.

He sat there, his whole body almost frozen with tension.

"No."

Jonah shook his head violently, "I don't believe it. You just treated my cut yourself. In all these years, except when we first married, you never personally applied medicine to me again."

"You still care about me, worry about me, right?"

However, Danielle just put the first aid kit back, her gaze calm and cool.

Her eyes showed no fluctuation.

"Then I can only tell you, you misunderstood."

"Take good care of your cut, and don't scare Gilbert and Freddy tomorrow."

After saying that, Danielle left.

And Jonah just stared blankly at her departing figure.

His heart was filled with infinite regret.

At night.

After putting Freddy and Gilbert to sleep, the bedroom instantly became quiet.

Jessica looked at the unoccupied space beside her and missed him even more.

Just then, her phone rang.

Seeing it was Gabriel calling, she couldn't hide her happiness and almost jumped out of bed, quickly running to the balcony in her house slippers.

Then she closed the balcony door to prevent their conversation from waking Gilbert and Freddy.

"Gabriel."

When she answered the phone, she could hardly hide her excitement and joy.

On the other end, Gabriel's low, sultry voice slowly came through, "So happy? Let me guess, you miss me so much you can't sleep."

Caught in her thoughts, Jessica denied, "No, I don't! You don't miss me, so why should I miss you?"

"Then how does Ms. Morgan know I don't miss you?"

Gabriel suddenly pointed to his head. "Here."

Then he pointed to his heart. "Here."

"My whole body is thinking of you. Ms. Morgan, tell me, if this isn't missing you, then what is?"

Listening to his words, Jessica felt an even sweeter warmth in her heart and smiled contentedly.

"That's more like it. That means Mr. Walton is a standard good husband."

Thinking about the evening, Jessica told Gabriel what Freddy and Gilbert had done.

"I never expected it. They're so young but more thoughtful than me," Jessica couldn't help but sigh.

At the same time, she was genuinely puzzled and curious about Jonah and Danielle's relationship.

When she married Gabriel, she felt that her in-laws' relationship was a bit off.

If it was a marriage of convenience, she always felt there were feelings between Jonah and Danielle.

If they loved each other, her in-laws always slept in separate rooms and barely spoke to each other. Jonah and Danielle always treated each other coldly.

In short, it was all very abnormal.

"Gabriel, what's going on between Dad and Mom? I've always found it strange."

"Actually, not only you, but I'm also puzzled. I don't know much more than you. The only extra thing I know is that my mom had a marriage before marrying Dad."

"As for who she married, why they divorced, and any information about that man, I have no idea."

This news indeed shocked Jessica greatly.

If Gabriel hadn't told her himself, she would never have believed it.

"So you're saying Mom was married before? I always felt they still loved each other. Do you think their long-standing silent treatment has something to do with that man and Patricia?"

"Maybe!" Gabriel said, "But Jack is indeed my dad's illegitimate son. With my mom's personality, she would never forgive a cheating Jonah, even if she was unwilling."

"I think there might be some hidden truth about what happened back then. If possible, I hope it's all a misunderstanding and they can reconcile."

Gabriel also sighed deeply, "I feel the same way!"

But so many years had passed.

If Jonah and Danielle could reconcile, they would have done so long ago. How could it have gone on for decades?

"Alright, their issues can't be solved overnight. It takes time. If you want to help, just do your best." Gabriel advised.

"Okay."

Unconsciously, Jessica and Gabriel had been talking for almost an hour.

Before hanging up, Jessica suddenly called out, "Gabriel, wait!"

"What's up?"

"Sorry, I lied earlier. I do miss you."

Her soft voice, like a feather, gently brushed his longing heart, "And I miss you so much I can't sleep."

After saying that, Jessica heard her heartbeat.

Just like in her youth, the shyness and excitement of preparing to confess to someone she liked.

At breakfast.

Danielle asked Jessica about Patricia.

"Jessica, did Jack come to see you? Did he ask you to withdraw the report and release Patricia?"

Jessica nodded, "Yes, but I refused."

"You did the right thing. Seven days of detention is necessary. Otherwise, Patricia won't learn her lesson."

After breakfast, Danielle drove Freddy and Gilbert to kindergarten.

Jessica took a car to the hospital.

The Walton family had provided her with a car and driver, so the driver usually waited for her at 7:30 in the morning.

But today.

When she reached the entrance of The Walton Manor, Jessica saw the car in front of her, opened the door, and got in without thinking.

Then, when she saw the familiar figure and face inside, she was completely shocked.

"Gabriel, when did you come back?"

"Why didn't you tell..."

Before she could finish, Gabriel pulled her into his arms and kissed her deeply.

His days of longing had already surrounded her like a tide.

So at this moment, she didn't want to think about anything, just hold him tightly and respond to him.

A few minutes later, they let go of each other. Jessica suddenly panicked, "Gabriel, the driver isn't still sitting in the front, is he?"

Hearing her concern, Gabriel couldn't help but tap her nose, "Silly, isn't it too late to worry about that now?"
