Chapter 545 Francis's Wild Jealousy
Vincent and Jessica were walking to the beach.
They arrived just as the sunset reached its peak beauty.
The clouds on the horizon were dyed red, a dazzling sight that was simply mesmerizing.
"The sunset is indeed beautiful. Even though I've seen photos, seeing it with my eyes is much more breathtaking."
They chatted as they walked forward.
However, after just a few steps, Jessica suddenly stopped.
Jessica knew that coming out at this time would mean running into Francis and Celia.
But Jessica simply couldn't bear to witness the affection between Francis and Celia.
"Vincent, I think I'm feeling a bit unwell," Jessica wanted to back out.
But Vincent wouldn't allow it.
Vincent spoke, "Jessica, do you want to prove something?"
"What?"
"Something so important has happened here recently, why didn't you tell us? You've been holding it all in by yourself and even forcing a smile in front of me. Do you not consider me a friend anymore?"
Jessica lowered her head, "It's because I consider you a friend that I didn't want you to worry about me."
"Now that I know, don't you want to know what Francis thinks of you now? Whether he's fallen for you, or if he's jealous?"
Thinking about the scene when she went to find Francis that day, Jessica felt a pang in her heart.
"Francis probably doesn't care. After all, Celia is the only one in his heart."
"That's not quite the case," Vincent said.
Vincent continued, "Jessica, I'm a man, so I understand how men think."
"The so-called engagement between Francis and Celia is just a facade created by Celia. There's no real affection between them. After spending time with you, Francis must care about you and have feelings for you."
"Francis feels trapped by his status and sense of responsibility as a man, suppressing his feelings for you while also numbing himself to his role as Celia's fiancé. But I believe that deep down, he has developed different feelings for you."
"So Jessica, why don't we test it out?"
Listening to Vincent, Jessica became interested.
"How do we test it?"
"When we get closer, I'll do some intimate actions that might be misunderstood. Just go along with me."
"Will that work?" Jessica was a bit apprehensive.
Vincent was very confident, "Trust me."
Soon, Jessica walked towards Francis and Celia with her head held high.
This time, Francis was stunned.
Seven days, a whole week.
This was the first time in seven days that Francis had seen Jessica walking on the beach.
At first, Francis's heart was churning with excitement, almost uncontrollable.
However, when Francis saw a handsome, striking man standing next to Jessica, his heart felt like it had been hit hard by something.
'Who was the man next to Jessica?'
Just as Francis had this question in his mind.
The next moment, Francis saw the man next to Jessica reach out and hold her hand.
And Jessica didn't refuse.
Instead, Jessica smiled gently and leaned towards him.
It had to be said, that Jessica and Vincent were very well-matched in height, and even their looks were comparable—one beautiful, the other handsome.
Francis was incredibly jealous!
Francis even heard a girl with girlish fantasies saying.
"Look at that man, so upright and with such a straight posture, he has a military demeanor, he's so handsome."
"Yeah, that man is both manly and handsome, he's the epitome of a man."
"And the woman next to him is so beautiful, she's pregnant, too. Handsome men always have partners. They make such a perfect couple, I'm so envious."
These words fell into Francis's heart almost verbatim.
'Perfect couple? How are they perfect?'
'These little girls only look at appearances. Besides, they don't look like a couple, more like siblings.'
Francis thought and pursed his lips, his eyes fixed on Jessica and Vincent, remaining perfectly still.
Francis felt a mix of anger, frustration, and jealousy.
What made Francis feel even worse was that Jessica and Vincent looked at each other with such deep affection, filled with happiness.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew, messing up Jessica's hair.
Jessica reached out to gently fix it.
But just as she finished, the sea breeze tousled it once more.
Just as Jessica was about to fix it again, Vincent suddenly moved behind her, grabbed her hair gently, and whispered, "Leave it to me, I'll do it."
"Okay," Jessica nodded, smiling slightly.
That slight smile was so serene and breathtakingly beautiful.
If he hadn't seen it with his eyes, Francis would never have known he could be so jealous.
Francis's heart felt stifled and uncomfortable.
Vincent's long fingers gently threaded through Jessica's soft hair, and in no time, he had her hair neatly arranged.
At the same time, Vincent took out a very beautiful hairband from his pocket and gently tied it to Jessica.
Even though Jessica was pregnant, her face remained as small as ever.
With her good skin, wearing the floral hairband Vincent had prepared made her look delicate and refreshingly beautiful.
But no matter what kind of beauty Jessica had, it lingered in Francis's mind.
Francis felt like he was out of his mind.
"If Francis hadn't been fighting to hold it back, he wouldn't have been able to take his eyes off her.
Francis couldn't stay there any longer.
Otherwise, he feared he might rush over and punch the man next to Jessica.
Francis was even more afraid he would shout, "Jessica, you said you liked me just a few days ago, and now you've changed your mind so quickly?"
Francis kept a stern expression, not wanting to greet them at all.
"Celia, let's go back!" Francis said.
But Celia refused.
Celia knew Francis had seen Jessica and that man, she had seen them too, and she wanted to mention it.
"Francis, let's stay a bit longer. Look, isn't that Jessica over there?"
"Am I seeing things? Jessica seems to be with a man, and they're holding hands, looking so happy and sweet."
"Francis, it seems we misunderstood Jessica. She mistook you for her husband last time. The man standing next to her must be her husband, so upright and handsome. They make such a perfect couple. I'm so happy for her!"
"Francis, we've met Jessica a few times. Now that she's found her husband, let's go over and say hello and congratulate her!"
Then, Celia took Francis's arm and walked towards Jessica.
