Chapter 553 No More Pregnancies
Celia shook her head firmly, "Mom, it's useless."
"I've been with him for so long, I know his personality the best. If he doesn't want to do something, no one can force him."
"Do you know?"
At this point, Celia started to cry painfully.
"He already broke up with me yesterday and called off the engagement. I just didn't dare to face it. I was too scared, so I pretended not to know anything."
"Mom, I'm going to lose him."
"Do you know how much it hurts? Every time I think about him leaving me, I feel like I can't even breathe."
Alisha reached out and hugged Celia tightly.
At the same time, Alisha comforted Celia, "Don't be sad. In my opinion, there's nothing good about a man like Francis."
"You're pregnant, and he's out there being ambiguous with Jessica. Every time I think about the suffering you've endured, I just want to tear him apart."
Celia quickly exclaimed, "Mom, don't."
"I love him."
"Please, Mom, don't blame him. I know he didn't do it on purpose. If he knew about the baby, he would be very sad."
Alisha patted her back with a heartache, "Celia, how long are you going to be deceived? He doesn't love you at all. Otherwise, how could he bear to let you suffer so much?"
"No." Celia retorted strongly, "He loves me."
"I'm very sure that Francis likes me in his heart. He was just momentarily attracted to Jessica because of the novelty. When he gets tired of it, he will realize my worth."
"He will recognize that I am the one he loves the most."
Outside the door, Francis felt a heavy mix of emotions after overhearing the conversation. He felt guilty towards Celia and her baby.
But even so, Celia had no resentment towards him. Every word she said was for his sake.
But what about him?
He was so cruel, hurting her again and again without mercy.
'Celia, I'm sorry!'
'In front of you, I seem so insignificant.'
Francis thought, slid down the wall, and squatted on the ground.
He didn't remember how long he squatted there, only that when he wanted to get up, his whole body was numb and he had no strength at all.
At that moment, he felt nothing but infinite guilt.
When Alisha came out of the room, Francis was still waiting there.
Alisha's demeanor turned frosty at the sight of him.
"You were standing outside, you should have heard everything Celia said."
"Even at this moment, she has not blamed you anymore. All she thinks about is you. She doesn't even know how to tell you about the baby."
"But what about you? What have you done?"
Francis lowered his head and said nothing.
Because he knew that everything Alisha said was true.
Daylight rapidly broke.
Theron brought in some light breakfast.
After a while, Celia's voice came from inside, "Mom, did you call Francis when I was hospitalized?"
"I did!"
Celia looked at her in disbelief, "Then why hasn't he come to see me?"
"Mom, are you sure you told him everything about me? It's already daylight now."
"Do you think he has made up his mind to break up with me, so even though I lost the baby and was hospitalized, he doesn't want to see me?"
"Mom."
Suddenly, Celia threw herself into Alisha's arms, crying sadly.
Alisha comforted her with heartache, "No, Francis said he would be here in ten minutes."
"Really?"
Sure enough, Celia's eyes sparkled with excitement as she brimmed with anticipation.
"Yeah, why would I lie to you? I promise he will be in front of you in ten minutes."
"Okay, then I'll wait for him."
Soon, Alisha walked out of the ward.
Alisha looked at Francis, "You heard what Celia just said, right? Celia wants to see you, and I don't want to disappoint her."
"You have ten minutes, hurry up and get yourself together."
"Okay."
Ten minutes later, Francis walked into the ward.
"Celia."
As soon as he called her name, Celia's eyes were already filled with tears.
"Francis, is it really you?" Her tears instantly flowed out.
Francis walked over, and as soon as he reached the bedside, Celia quickly hugged him.
"Francis, you came to see me. You care about me, right?"
"Francis, I'm sorry I didn't protect our baby. Blame me, it was my carelessness. I know you've always wanted a daughter. Dr. Daniels said the baby was a girl."
"I'm sorry, Francis."
Celia cried so much that she was almost a tearful mess.
Francis felt a lump in his throat and just couldn't find the words.
Seeing him silent, Celia became even more worried.
"Francis, are you angry?"
Please, just say something! I'm begging you, don't shut me out.
Francis opened his mouth, trembling, "I..."
But as soon as he said one word, he couldn't continue.
At that moment, Celia pushed him away. While wiping her tears, she forced a smile, "Francis, you should go!"
"I love you, so I don't want to force you."
"If you truly like Jessica, then I'll let you go and bless you."
Pausing, Celia forced a smile, choking up, "Now that the baby is gone, it's good. The last tie between us is gone."
"You don't have to have any concerns about me anymore. I agree to break up and cancel the engagement."
Celia bit her lip, trying hard to smile, "Francis, I love you, and I just want you to be happy."
Francis looked at the obviously weak but still smiling Celia, feeling extremely guilty.
Just as Francis moved his lips, about to speak, the door of the ward was opened.
Cathy, wearing a white coat, walked in.
Cathy checked the situation, and everything was pretty good.
Alisha breathed a sigh of relief, but then she asked, "By the way, Dr. Daniels, my daughter is young. If she wants to get pregnant again, should she rest and wait for a while?"
Cathy suddenly froze, looking troubled.
"Dr. Daniels, what's wrong? Never mind, you can speak freely."
"Since you are all family members, I'll be straightforward. Based on our assessment of Ms. Bell's condition, it may be very difficult for her to conceive again!"
Cathy took her time saying the last sentence.
"What?" Celia's eyes widened, looking at her in disbelief.
"Dr. Daniels." Celia's eyes were streaming with tears, crying out in pain, "You're lying to me, right? It's just a miscarriage. How could I never get pregnant again and not be a mother?"
"You must have made a mistake. I beg you to check me again."
