Chapter 74 Gabriel, I Don't Want To
Jessica lifted her head, her clear and transparent eyes looked at Gabriel, and replied with certainty, "I don't want to."
"Gabriel, no one would like such a forced, emotionless kiss."
"If it were you, would you?”"
Her words made Gabriel furrow his brows intensely.
He leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, then went directly to the driver's seat, opening the car door.
On the way back, he still drove fastwas driving really fast.
The car was quiet, as if the two of them had returned to their previous moments, neither of them speaking.
Only the sound of music flowed quietly in the car.
Jessica sat in the car, looking at the scenery outside with a faint expression.
Suddenly, her phone made a ding sound, it was a WeChatWhatsApp message from Grace.: "[Jessica, how are you? Did you go out? Are you okay?]"
["Grace, I'm fine. How are things over there?]"
["A police officer came to maintain order, Linda sent someone over too, so I should be able to get out in a while. Don't worry.]"
Hearing her words, Jessica finally relaxed.
Since a police officer had arrived, they would definitely evacuate the fans and people in the mall soon, so Grace would be safe.
A police officer?
Vincent's words suddenly echoed in Jessica's mind.: "Call the nearby police station immediately and ask them to send people to control the situation and evacuate all the trapped people."
So that meant he had requested for the police officer to come.
Thinking of this, Jessica felt even more indebted to him.
Although they hadn't met many times and hadn't known each other for long, every time, she was able to encounter him at the most critical moments.
Jessica found his WeChatWhatsApp, edited a message, and sent it.: "[Vincent, I really want to thank you for today. I'm sorry for earlier, I will personally apologize to you another day and treat you to coffee.]"
By now, the mall was mostly evacuated.
Vincent took a breath as he sat in the stairwell. He stared at Jessica's WeChatWhatsApp for a while, feeling stunned. Gabriel? One of The Walton Family's people. The moment he found out she had a Hubby and a baby, he was genuinely surprised. However, he never expected her Hubby to be Gabriel.
He was never enthusiastic about business matters, nor was he ever interested. But he had heard quite a few things about The Walton Family, especially their young and successful CEO, from his Mommom and sister. Most of what he heard was praise and admiration.
As Vincent looked at the text message, he hesitated about whether or not to reply. In the end, his slender fingers tapped on the phone and he responded, ["You're welcome.]" But right after sending it, he deleted the message. Then he typed again, ["It's no big deal.]" And again, he deleted it. He repeated this process a few times without coming up with a suitable response.
Yosef Dell walked over, drinkingchugging water, heavily and tossed another bottle to him. "Boss, keep going," he said. Vincent put down his phone, unscrewed the lid, and chugged the water in one go. Perhaps it was because he had been busy for a few hours or maybe he was just tired, but Vincent finished the entire bottle in one gulp. Despite drinking it quickly, his drinking style was elegant.
While Yosef Dell gulped down the water, Vincent barely spilled a drop. Particularly when he drank, the movement of his Adam's apple showed strength and beauty, giving off a sense of seductiveness.
After finishing the water, he handed the bottle to Yosef Dell, who happened to catch a glimpse of Vincent's phone. Immediately, he became excited. "Boss, you're amazing! You got that beauty's WeChatWhatsApp so quickly and even started chatting. Does this mean Danielle really has a chance?"
"Don't speak nonsense," Vincent lifted his eyelid and glanced at him. Yosef Dell immediately closed shut his mouth and went to throw away the bottle. After tossing it, he approached and reminded, "Boss, why are you hesitating? Reply to the WeChatWhatsApp quickly."
"Even though I've never been in a relationship, I still know that you need to reply to a girl's WeChatWhatsApp immediately."
"Do you think we can do it in our line of work?"
Yosef Dell immediately scratched his head in embarrassment. "It seems more difficult for us, but unless we have a task, whenever we see it and have free time, we should reply immediately."
"Are you sure you've never been in a relationship?" Vincent's dark eyes scanned him.
"Boss, it's true, I haven't, I wouldn't lie to you," Yosef Dell replied.
After saying that, Yosef Dell ran off. "Boss, I'm going home for now. It's a nice vacationday for a vacation, you should also leave the office and go home."
"Alright, I'll be back in a while."
After Yosef Dell left, Vincent opened his phone and typed searched for ‘"Gabriel’" ointo Baidu BaikeSnapchat.
Hisis information quickly appeared on the page. Vincent read through it in a matter of minutes.
But regardless of where it was, Gabriel's status was always listed as ‘"single.’"
Not ‘"married.’"
Vincent dialed a number and it was quickly answered on the other end. "I heard you have a week off this time. When are you coming home? Mom misses you terribly. You better not stay at the office during your time off, Vincent, remember, you're not an orphan, you have a family."
Vincent immediately moved the phone away from himself and only put it back to his ear after the lecture was over.
JEennifer Lucas walked towardstoward the conference room in high heels while holding her phone. Her graceful and imposing aura was unmatched by ordinary people.
Her assistant, who noticed she was on a call, discreetly lowered his voice as he handed her some documents. "Msr. Lucas, please review these."
EJennifer Lucas continued looking at the documents while speaking. "Are you coming home today?"
"Sis, I'll be home in a bit."
"Vincent, you better keep your word, or else I'll have someone escort you home."
"Are you sure your people can handle me?"
Feeling JEennifer Lucas was about to get angry, Vincent quickly chuckled. "Alright, sis, just kidding."
"I have something I need your help with."
"Help?" JEennifer Lucas leaned back on the sofa chair behind her and sarcastically said in a low voice. "Well, well, well, it's rare to see Vincent needing my help. I remember when you were invincible and unbeatable."
Vincent knew that Mom and his sister still held a grudge about him secretly going to the police academy alone.
But no matter how resentful they were, they still loved their little brother, and even if they were unwilling, they agreed.
"Sis, don't worry, I'll be at home with you and Mom the whole week."
JEennifer Lucas finally felt relieved. "Alright, tell me, what do you need?"
"Gabriel,." Vincent uttered these three words. "I want to find out more about himim."
Jennifer Lucas was jolted from her seat on the couch as soon as she heard the name. Surprised, she asked, "Gabriel?"
"Why are you investigating him? Is he your next target?"
