Chapter 302 Jessica Has Been Kidnapped
Looking at Patricia, Diana reached out her hand again and said, "Hey, nice to meet you. I'm Diana Bush. Just to clear things up, I'm Gabriel's ex, not his current girlfriend."
"Ex-girlfriend?" Patricia didn't shake her hand, just stared and asked.
Diana moved her hand again, and this time, Patricia finally shook it.
"Ms. Jones, I heard you want Jessica to be your daughter-in-law. Well, you better hustle, or else..."
Diana paused on purpose.
"Or else what?"
Patricia took the bait, just as Diana expected.
"Or else, she's about to marry Gabriel."
"They're getting back together? Didn't they already break up?" Patricia's face suddenly tensed up.
Diana said, "Ms. Jones, don't you know? They recently patched things up, and it's moving fast. At this rate, they'll be remarried soon. If that happens, your son won't stand a chance."
Even though Patricia was freaking out inside, she kept her cool.
She asked, "How do you know all this? Why are you helping me?"
Diana teased, "Ms. Jones, that's not the point. The point is, we're on the same boat. You want Jessica, and I want Gabriel. We both get what we want."
Patricia said, "I didn't expect you to love him so much. Even after all this time, you still can't move on."
"I can't help it."
Diana's lips curled into a cold smile, one that sent chills down your spine if you looked closely.
Pulling out her phone, Diana opened her Facebook QR code and said, "I've said my piece. If you're interested, add me. If not, you can kick me out right now."
Patricia stared at her coldly.
Diana was pretty nervous inside, but just when she thought Patricia would reject her, Patricia pulled out her phone and added her on Facebook.
After that, Diana got out of the car, feeling pretty satisfied.
Time flew by, and before you knew it, it was Christmas, with New Year's just around the corner.
The new year was almost here.
Thinking about it, Jessica was filled with excitement.
She had planned to agree to date him on Easter, but neither of them could wait.
So, she decided to move it up.
On New Year's Day, she called Gabriel early.
"Got plans tonight?"
"If it's with you, I'm free," he said.
"Then let's spend New Year's Eve together. Meet me at Sunrise Plaza at nine," Jessica said.
"Sounds good."
After hanging up, both of them were buzzing with happiness.
Jessica was so excited about their New Year's Eve plans that she was on cloud nine all day.
The afternoon was pretty chill and relaxed.
She could now see some patients on her own.
"Number 120," she called out, feeling relieved it was the last one.
But when she saw the patient, she rubbed her head in frustration.
"Mrs. Smith, you've been coming here for a week now. I've given you a thorough check-up. Your heart is perfectly fine. Your rapid heartbeat and occasional shortness of breath might be related to your environment and emotions."
Patricia smiled gently, "Jessica, I don't mean anything by it. I just wanted to see you."
Jessica sighed, "Mrs. Smith, I appreciate it, but I've made it clear. I have a boyfriend, and I like him. Dr. Smith and I are not a thing. He's not interested in me either. You should look at other great girls."
But Patricia was stubborn, insisting, "No, I've only got my eyes on you."
Frustrated, Jessica called Jack.
Two minutes later, Jack showed up.
"Mom, why are you here again? Didn't I tell you? You're seriously disrupting Dr. Morgan and the hospital."
Patricia looked at him defiantly, "How am I disrupting anything? I always come last."
Jack sighed, "Fine, if you keep this up, I'll make sure you can't book an appointment with Jessica again."
Seeing Jack so firm, Patricia got scared and backed down, "Alright, I just wanted to see her a few more times. If you don't like it, I won't come anymore. It's late today. You should take Jessica home."
"Mrs. Smith, there's no need. I can go home by myself," Jessica quickly said.
Patricia insisted, "Let Jack take you home. It's not safe for a girl to go home alone."
"Okay, I'll take her home. You should go back first," Jack said.
Only then did Patricia leave Jessica's office.
Seeing her leave, Jessica took a deep breath and looked at Jack, "Didn't you explain it clearly to your mom?"
"I did."
Jessica pleaded, "I've made it very clear that I have a boyfriend. Why is she so persistent? I'm begging you, Dr. Smith; please get a girlfriend and let me go!"
"Alright, I'll think about it," Jack nodded and said, "Hurry up and pack your things. I'll take you home."
"No," Jessica refused, "I know you just agreed to appease your mom. You don't have to follow through. I can go home by myself, and I already have plans."
"Do you think my mom will leave if she doesn't see me take you?" Jack asked.
Jessica was silent.
"Alright, I'll get in your car. After a few minutes, you can drop me off at any subway station," she said.
"Okay," Jack agreed.
Even though there was nothing between them, they were worried about gossip, so they were cautious and went to the underground parking lot one after the other.
Jessica went down first, and Jack followed a few minutes later.
The basement was dimly lit, and Jessica wasn't very familiar with it.
After walking a few steps, suddenly, her wrist was grabbed.
The sudden surprise scared Jessica. She opened her mouth, about to scream.
The next moment, her mouth and nose were tightly covered, and she couldn't make a sound.
Soon, the drug took effect, and she passed out, then was hooded and dragged into a car.
Jack followed down but didn't see Jessica anywhere.
"Jessica," he called out, but there was no response in the large garage.
"Jessica," he called again, feeling a growing sense of dread.
Taking out his phone, he was about to make a call when he saw a black car drive past him.
And the person tied up inside, even through the hood, he could tell at a glance that it was Jessica.
