Chapter 485 Plane Crash, Gabriel Is Missing 2

Jessica was covering her ears and shaking her head frantically.

Even so, the screams and cries of pain kept echoing in her mind.

"No, I said I don't believe Gabriel is dead. They're all crying, but I can't cry. If I cry, it means I admit Gabriel is dead."

That night seemed to drag on endlessly.

Jessica lay in bed but couldn't fall asleep.

But she closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.

Because Jessica knew that if she stayed awake, Tina would stay with her.

Tina was more exhausted than Jessica and needed rest even more.

Seeing Jessica asleep and hearing her gentle breathing, Tina quickly fell asleep beside her.

At that moment, Vincent pushed the door open and entered.

Jessica opened her eyes and looked at him, "Tina is asleep. Can you help me move her to the bed next to mine?"

"Sure," Vincent nodded.

After moving Tina to the adjacent bed, Vincent walked back to Jessica, "I'll be right outside. If you need anything, just call me or text me."

Jessica shook her head, "No, it's late. You've already done enough for us today. Go home and get some rest."

"Alright, I'll come see you in the morning."

With that, Vincent quickly left the room.

In the hallway, his military boots made a crisp and powerful sound as he walked.

But he didn't leave; instead, he found a chair and sat down.

If he said he wouldn't go home, Jessica would worry.

Staying close by was the best way to keep her company.

Around 5 a.m., Vincent had just closed his eyes for a brief rest.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching.

He opened his eyes slightly and saw Tina walking over.

"Why are you up so early? Shouldn't you get some more sleep?" Vincent asked.

"It's my night shift today. I need to go check on things. I'll come back after the shift change."

Tina's gaze fell on Vincent.

His clothes were disheveled, and stubble had appeared on his chin.

His eyes were red from staying up all night.

Tina thought of how he used to be—so spirited and handsome!

But now, he was willing to become a shadow of his former self for Jessica.

If this wasn't love, what was?

Even so, Tina felt deeply sorry for him.

"Jessica is asleep. Why don't you go get some rest, too? I'll call you if we need anything," Tina suggested.

But Vincent shook his head without hesitation, "No, it's almost dawn. I'd better stay. And I do need a favor."

Tina nodded, "Sure, what is it?"

"Jessica asked me to go home and rest earlier. I promised her I would. She doesn't know I'm outside. If she asks in the morning, please keep this secret for me."

Hearing this, Tina couldn't help but feel a pang of envy for Jessica.

What deep love must it be to have such intense feelings!

Tina's heart ached slightly, and she nodded firmly, "Alright, I'll keep your secret."

"Thank you!"

Jessica fell asleep around 4 a.m., but it was a restless sleep.

She kept having a nightmare over and over.

Jessica dreamt of a plane crashing, engulfed in flames, reduced to wreckage.

She dreamt of the plane crashing on a deserted island, with everyone screaming in terror.

She also dreamt of the plane plunging into the ocean, with waves crashing and surging.

And Gabriel was swimming desperately in the vast ocean, using every ounce of his strength.

"Honey, don't worry. I promised, and I will come back."

"Honey, don't cry. I won't die."

In the dream, Jessica heard Gabriel's voice.

But soon, she saw Gabriel looking at her, barely alive, "I'm sorry, honey. I might break my promise this time."

"Take care of yourself and the baby. I can't be with you in this life. I hope we meet in heaven."

"Honey, I love you! And, goodbye!"

At that moment, Jessica couldn't take it anymore. She shook her head frantically and cried out, "No, no."

"Don't go, Gabriel. Don't leave me. You promised me you would come back."

"You're a liar. You can't break your promise!"

Waking up, Jessica gasped for breath.

Her throat was dry and sore. She reached out for a cup of warm water.

Only to find the cup was empty.

She threw off the covers and was about to get up to refill it.

But as soon as she stood up, she felt a wet sensation below, followed by a sharp pain in her lower abdomen.

She felt something and immediately turned to look at the bed.

Sure enough, the sheets were stained with bright red.

Her lower abdomen hurt more and more.

She struggled to press the call button.

The waiting was agonizing. Jessica clenched her hands and prayed repeatedly, "Baby, hold on. Please be okay."

"Baby, you and your dad can't break your promises. You all must arrive safely by my side."

Jessica was bleeding, she didn't dare move and could only lie in bed.

In the hallway.

Seeing the nurse rushing over, Vincent immediately opened his eyes.

The nurse pushed the door open and ran in, with Vincent following closely behind.

Seeing the nurse, Jessica anxiously grabbed her hand, "I'm bleeding, and my lower abdomen hurts. Please, save my baby."

"Don't worry, let me take a look."

The nurse lifted the sheets for a look.

Seeing the amount of blood, the nurse panicked and shouted to her colleague, "Quick, the bleeding is severe. Get the doctor immediately."

Vincent rushed over, "Where's the doctor? What's their name? I'll get them."

Thanks to his speed, Dr. Anita Delgado was quickly brought over.

Outside the room, Vincent waited anxiously.

Inside, Jessica breathed nervously.

"Dr. Delgado, please save my baby," Jessica pleaded, clutching her hand.

"Don't worry, I'll do my best."

When Tina came up, the room was still closed.

She immediately looked at Vincent and asked anxiously, "What's the situation? Why is she bleeding suddenly?"

"Not sure yet. Dr. Delgado is still examining her."

Tina waited anxiously, and worry gnawing at her heart.

With Gabriel in trouble, this baby might be Jessica's only hope and solace.

If the baby were lost now, she couldn't imagine what would happen to Jessica.

"Oh God! You are always merciful. Please, don't be so cruel this time!"

Tina could do nothing but silently pray over and over.

Suddenly, she heard Jessica's heart-wrenching cries from inside.
