Chapter 147 Gabriel Went Crazy Looking for Jessica
When they arrived at the location, Gabriel frantically pressed the doorbell.
However, once, twice, several minutes passed, and there was no movement at all, no one came to open the door.
He reached out and knocked on the door again, but still, no one answered.
Taking out his phone, he dialed Jessica's number. However, there was no answer.
Jessica was sitting in a taxi. After Oscar left, she packed some clothes, put them in a small suitcase, and headed to the airport.
She had already arranged with Grace to visit her for a few days.
It just so happened that Grace was filming in Seabrook Valley, a place with the ocean that Jessica loved, so when Grace invited her over, she agreed without much thought.
Before boarding, Jessica saw the missed call from Gabriel. She glanced at it indifferently, then turned off her phone and put it in her bag.
The plane soared into the clouds, and looking at the pure white clouds outside the window, like large patches of soft cotton, Jessica's mood finally improved a bit.
Meanwhile, Gabriel was going crazy looking for her.
He called Jessica many more times, but there was still no answer.
Putting down his phone in defeat, he realized at that moment that he knew nothing about her.
Besides Carter, she had no family in this city. She definitely wouldn't go to Carter's place, and he had no idea where else she might go.
Her social circle, her friends, her classmates—besides Grace, he knew nothing.
Even Grace was only familiar to him because Jessica often mentioned her, and she was a rising star.
As for her schoolmates and the places she often visited, he knew none of them, and had nowhere to look.
Another ten minutes passed, and Oscar called, "Mr. Walton, we found her. Mrs. Walton took a flight to Seabrook Valley."
"Seabrook Valley?"
She had quietly gone to Seabrook Valley.
He had never heard her mention it!
"Did she buy a return ticket?"
At that moment, his heart was uneasy, feeling especially afraid that she might not come back.
"Yes, a return ticket for three days later," Oscar replied.
"What time?"
"Around eleven in the morning."
"Okay, I got it," Gabriel said, hanging up the phone.
When Jessica got off the plane, she saw a girl in a yellow outfit holding a sign and shouting loudly, "Jessica, over here, over here."
The person picking her up was Susan Garcia, Grace's new assistant, a very cute and adorable girl.
She was very young, reportedly just eighteen, having dropped out of school early due to family circumstances. After several jobs, she finally became Grace's assistant.
The two went straight to the hotel.
As soon as they arrived at the hotel suite, Jessica smelled the incredibly fragrant aroma of hot pot. Moving forward, a steaming hot pot appeared before her eyes.
Various dishes were already laid out around it. Not only was the hot pot ready, but even the condiments and drinks were prepared, very thoroughly.
Jessica was stunned by the meticulous preparation.
"Where's Grace?" Jessica asked.
Susan explained, "Grace is still filming. She said you love hot pot and must have been craving it for a long time, so she had us prepare everything in advance. She said you should start eating as soon as you arrive, no need to wait for her."
"Will she be a while?" Jessica asked.
"Not sure. The scene is a bit difficult. If it goes smoothly, it will be quick; if not, it might take a few more hours."
"Okay, got it."
"Jessica, you go ahead and eat first. If you need anything, just let me know. I'll give you my phone number," Susan said.
After Susan left, Jessica turned off the hot pot and organized her luggage.
After tidying up, she leaned on the sofa and unknowingly fell asleep.
When Grace pushed the door open, she wondered why Jessica wasn't eating the hot pot. The next moment, she saw Jessica asleep on the sofa.
Hearing the noise, Jessica opened her eyes and saw Grace. She immediately rubbed her sleepy eyes, voicing, "Grace, you're back. What time is it?"
"It's already past three. Didn't I tell you to eat first and not wait for me?"
Jessica got up and said, "I had to wait for you! You worked hard to prepare the hot pot; how could I eat it alone? Besides, eating hot pot alone is no fun. It's meant to be enjoyed by two people."
"That's true."
The two sat down together and turned on the hot pot.
Soon, the room was filled with steam again, and the rich aroma of the hot pot spread to every corner.
Jessica glanced at the dishes on the table and noticed they were all her favorites.
Moreover, both pots had mild broths.
Grace must have considered her health and didn't order anything spicy.
For someone who loved spicy food, Grace had really put in a lot of effort for her.
"Grace, you've really gone out of your way."
"It's nothing. Besides, there's still the dipping sauce. I made a spicy one. But they haven't allowed me to eat spicy food lately, claiming it affects my skin," Grace said, clearly frustrated.
She did love spicy food, but her body couldn't tolerate it, and she would break out in pimples.
Given her image, even a single pimple would prompt them to take all sorts of measures to fix it.
Jessica listened to her complaints and patiently comforted her, "This means our Grace is famous and getting a lot of attention. If you weren't noticeable, no one would care so much!"
Grace agreed, "It does seem that way! Jessica, you're so good at comforting people. Hearing you say that, I feel better instantly."
"By the way, when are you moving to my place?" Grace asked.
"I already did," Jessica said.
"What?" Grace looked up in shock, "So you and Gabriel? You got divorced?"
"Yes," Jessica nodded seriously, "It's finalized."
Grace's fork dropped into her plate, her face one of disbelief. "Really divorced?" She asked.
"We got the divorce papers stamped last night, and I went to your place this morning."
Hearing this, Grace fell silent. She was close to Jessica and knew how much Jessica loved Gabriel.
Secretly loving a man for ten years—she couldn't imagine how long, painful, and brave that persistence was.
And she would never forget that day when Jessica came over, hugged her, and smiled brightly. "Grace, I'm so happy, I'm so happy. Do you know? I'm going to marry him. I can't believe I'm going to marry him.
"This feels like a dream. I can't believe I get to marry him and be his wife. Grace, pinch me, am I dreaming?" Jessica had exclaimed.
At that time, she had pinched Jessica's cheek hard and congratulated her, "Dear Jessica, I'm very serious when I say this, you're not dreaming. It's all real."
