Chapter 662 Will He Go to the Birthday Party? 1

Grace gave a cool smile and thought, 'Am I willing? That's too difficult.'

"Why are you smiling?" he asked.

"Do you want to hear the truth?" Grace looked at him seriously.

"Yes."

"Quentin." She raised her slender fingers, gently stroking his brow as she murmured, "When I was with you before, even though you never announced I was your girlfriend, I was willing. Do you know why?"

She curled her lips and answered herself, "The answer is simple, dummy. I liked you. I loved you enough to stay by your side without a title and to give you everything. Quentin, you have no idea how deeply I loved you, but..."

Suddenly, her fingers left his brow, and a smile tugged at her lips.

Yet that smile felt desolate and indifferent—beautiful, but utterly devoid of warmth."Don't worry, I won't control your female friends like before, nor will I be irrationally jealous. Whoever you want to be with, whoever you want to marry, it's your freedom."

"I've given up. I don't love you anymore."

Although he had a vague premonition in his heart.

Hearing her say it out loud was a different matter.

Quentin's chest ached, a sharp, throbbing pain.

He never knew that hearing her say she didn't love him anymore would make him so sad.

Reaching out, he held her tightly.

His voice was deep and low, "Grace, listen to me, I won't allow you to not love me. Whether you're telling the truth or just angry, I will make you fall in love with me again."

Grace closed her eyes and didn't respond.

She could listen to certain words, yet they felt too hollow to take to heart. The next day, Quentin got up early and even changed into a blue striped suit.

He looked spirited and handsome in front of the mirror.

It was rare for it to rain.

Listening to the rain outside, Grace wanted to sleep in.

But Quentin pulled her out of bed.

Then he handed her a tie and instructed, "Tie it for me."

"I don't know how." She refused.

Quentin kissed her lips gently, his voice tender. "It's okay if you don't know how. I'll teach you, and once you learn, you can tie it for me."

"Why don't you just tie it yourself?" Grace looked at him helplessly.

Besides, if she remembered correctly, he got up so early to attend Caroline's birthday party.

She wasn't a masochist, tying his tie and sending him off to Caroline's birthday party.

"No, I just like you to tie it for me." Quentin was being unreasonable.

Grace had no choice but to get up and tie it haphazardly.

To be honest, the tie was tied as badly as it could be.

After tying the tie, Quentin left in his crisp suit.

He didn't say a word before leaving.

The sound of the rain outside grew louder, and Grace no longer felt like sleeping.

She sat up and stared at the raindrops hitting the window.

He ended up going after all.

Just a few days ago, he had vowed he wouldn't attend.

Truly, women should be wary of men's promises.

His statements lacked credibility.

Ruffling her hair, Grace felt like a mess.

She confessed to feeling unexpectedly sentimental. If he had asked her before leaving, maybe she would have said, "Quentin, can you not go?"

But thinking about it, she couldn't bring herself to say such humble words.

'Grace, you have to pull yourself together. Wake up, he was just saying it. Today, he still went to Caroline's place.' Grace thought to herself.

While Grace was washing up, someone kept knocking on the door downstairs.

"Ms. Morgan, breakfast is ready."

After getting ready, she went downstairs immediately.

When Grace arrived at the dining room, she was stunned.

Quentin hadn't left yet! Grace ate breakfast particularly slowly.

After eating, Quentin stood up first.

Grace finally looked at him and spoke, "Are you going out?"

"Yeah," He answered lightly, his deep eyes looking at her. "Is there something you want to say to me?"

"No, if you're going, just go!" After saying that, she hurried upstairs.

It was better not to watch him leave; watching might make her feel worse.

However, just a few minutes after she went upstairs, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in."

The next moment, seeing Quentin standing in front of her, she was extremely surprised.

"Aren't you already gone?" She asked.

"I was about to go," He nodded, suddenly reaching out to pinch her face. "Grace, I've been waiting for you to come with me. Didn't you notice? Was I not obvious enough, or are you too dense?"

"What?" Grace couldn't believe what she was hearing.

He said he had been waiting for her to come with him.

But how could that be?

"Today is Caroline's birthday party, aren't you going to..."

Halfway through her sentence, she choked up, unable to continue.

"Grace," Quentin looked at her angrily. "Are you stupid or forgetful? Didn't you say you didn't want me to go and wanted me to stay with you?"

She had said that, but she thought he had forgotten.

"Quentin, are you serious?" Grace asked him seriously.

"What do you think?" He raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know." She replied.

"Go change your clothes. I'll wait for you downstairs and take you somewhere." He said.

Ten minutes later, they were sitting in the car.

Watching the scenery quickly pass by, Grace felt like everything was a dream.

Did he really not go to Caroline's birthday party for her?

Yet, even with him by her side right now, why did it still feel so surreal?"Where are you taking me?" Grace asked nervously.

"To..."

Quentin had just started speaking when his phone rang.

Without a doubt, it was Caroline calling.

"Quentin, are you ready?" Caroline asked expectantly.

"Caroline, I told you, I won't come." He replied.

"But I've already told everyone you'll be there. They will be waiting for us at noon. Quentin, if you don't come, what will people think of me?" Caroline looked extremely aggrieved.

"Explain it however you want, I don't care." He insisted.

Caroline bit her lip, her face pale.

After a while, she managed to say, "Quentin, I'm begging you."

"Even if you don't see me as your fiancée, for the sake of our childhood friendship, can you come?"

"If you don't come, I'll be a laughingstock. My dad will be angry if he finds out."
