Chapter 457 Gabriel's Jealousy
"The driver is sitting in the front!"
Jessica was so startled that she quickly looked ahead.
When she saw that there was no one in the front seat, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She playfully punched Gabriel. "You jerk, you always trick me."
"Our beautiful Ms. Morgan is so easy to fool! Oh well, it's okay to be a little naive. Luckily, you're only ever fooled by me. If someone else pulled one over on you, I'd be at a huge loss."
"Then you better hold on tight, it won't be good if someone tricks me away."
"Would they dare?" Gabriel said domineeringly.
He opened the car door and got out first.
Then he extended his hand, slightly bent over in a gentlemanly manner. "Ms. Morgan, please!"
Jessica cooperatively extended her hand.
Gabriel helped her into the passenger seat and then got into the driver's seat to drive.
Because of Gabriel's return, Jessica was in a good mood at work all day.
Near the end of the workday, Jack came to bother her again.
The reason was simple: he still wanted her to drop the case and release Patricia.
After the previous two negotiations, this time, Jack seemed like a different person. He was no longer irritable or threatening.
Jack's words were almost requests.
But even so, Jessica could not agree to drop the case for Jack.
Anyone who tried to harm or take away her child would not be spared, especially Patricia.
Perhaps because of the previous experiences and her anticipation of Jack's persistence, Jessica was not flustered at all and could handle it calmly.
And so it went until the seventh day.
The detention period ended, and Jack didn't come to her again.
As for Patricia, by this time, Jack had already picked her up from the police station.
At that moment, Danielle was watering the flowers. When she heard the news, she immediately made a phone call, "Mrs. Jennings, this is Danielle. I need to ask you a favor."
"Mrs. Walton, what are you talking about? Just tell me what you need."
"In a few days, it's your birthday party. I assume you've invited many people!"
"Yes, did my team mess up and you didn't receive the invitation?" Scarlett Jennings asked worriedly.
"No, I received the invitation a few days ago and will attend. I just hope you can invite one more person for me."
"No problem. By the way, who do you want me to invite?"
With a faint smile, Danielle said, "Patricia."
On the other end, Scarlett was naturally very surprised.
Scarlett even thought she had misheard.
Scarlett asked again uncertainly, "Mrs. Walton, are you sure you want me to invite Patricia? But aren't you and she..."
"It doesn't matter. I don't care. Besides, Patricia is not qualified to challenge me or pose a threat."
"That's good, but I'm worried she might not come," Scarlett said.
"Don't worry. Just mention that many wealthy ladies and socialites will be there, and she'll come," Danielle said confidently.
"Alright, I'll take care of it right away."
"Okay, thank you!"
After hanging up the phone, Danielle felt great.
Even the flowers she had seen countless times seemed more delicate and lovely.
"Patricia, you almost took away my two grandsons. You've learned your lesson from Jessica, but I haven't even started my revenge yet!"
Soon, it was Scarlett's birthday party.
The day before, Danielle told Jessica that she would take her, Gilbert, and Freddy to Scarlett's birthday party.
Gabriel had been working overtime since he returned, and after working a bunch of extra shifts, he finally had a Saturday off. He planned to take Jessica, Gilbert, and Freddy out to make up for the last time.
He didn't expect Gilbert and Freddy to be taken by Danielle first.
So, Gabriel quickly adjusted his plan. "Mom, one more person won't make a difference. Take me along too!"
Danielle calmly replied, "It's a ladies' event. What are you going to do there? Just stay home by yourself!"
Gabriel was silent.
He turned and looked at Gilbert and Freddy, then raised an eyebrow, "They're also boys."
Gilbert reacted quickly and retorted, "Dad, please watch your words. Freddy and I are little boys. You're an adult; you're the man, not us."
The next day, everyone got up early.
Danielle had the makeup artist come to the house.
Everyone was busy with makeup and picking out clothes, except Gabriel, who sat on the couch, bored, reading a magazine.
Jessica was all done with her makeup.
The makeup artist had given her a fresh and bright look that suited her face and personality.
With her glowing skin and petite figure, Jessica looked even more adorable.
If it weren't for Gilbert and Freddy standing next to her, no one would know she was the mother of two five-year-olds.
Everything was perfect.
When Jessica came out in a white lace dress, Gabriel's eyes lit up, filled with amazement and affection.
The makeup artist was pleased, thinking that Gabriel would praise her for making his wife look so beautiful, ensuring her future business.
But unexpectedly, Gabriel's expression darkened like a sudden summer storm
He immediately got up and walked towards Jessica.
"What's wrong? Don't I look good?"
Seeing him staring at her, Jessica felt a bit nervous.
"It's acceptable," Gabriel said reluctantly, "but this dress doesn't suit you."
Then Gabriel looked at the makeup artist, "Find her another dress."
"Okay, Mr. Walton, I'll pick one right away."
The makeup artist quickly moved and picked another dress.
But Gabriel shook his head after just one look.
Another dress.
Then a third, a fourth...
In the end, there were at least ten dresses.
Danielle couldn't stand it anymore.
Gilbert and Freddy also shook their heads repeatedly. ' their dad had suddenly become silly!'
'Dad didn't want Mom to look so attractive, afraid that other men would take her away. He should just say so!'
'Dad was jealous but wouldn't admit it.'
Danielle spoke up, "Gilbert, go help your mom pick a dress."
"Okay, Grandma!"
Gilbert immediately took action, scanning through the rows of clothes.
Suddenly, he spotted one, quickly grabbed it, and walked towards Jessica. "Mommy, wear this purple one!"
Jessica glanced at Gabriel before taking the dress, then carefully inspected it to make sure it wasn't too revealing.
Gabriel nodded, arrogantly, "This dress is not bad. Go try it on!"
However, when Jessica came out wearing the dress, he still regretted it.
