Chapter 683 Backing Grace 2
If it had always been Jessica's hint before, now it was Gabriel's hint.
Elton immediately understood. "Mr. Walton, rest assured, I will make sure Mrs. Walton's friend is not bullied in the crew."
"Good." Gabriel nodded.
After parting with Elton, Grace took Jessica to the hotel where she was staying.
After looking around, Jessica was quite satisfied. "Grace, seeing that everything is fine here makes me feel relieved."
On the balcony, Gabriel leaned against the railing, smoking a cigarette while calling Quentin.
"I've already instructed them!" Gabriel's words were concise and clear.
Quentin's reply was also brief: "Thanks, I'll treat you to a drink another day."
Gabriel flicked off the ash. "Since when are you so polite with me? It's not like you."
Quentin explained, "Mainly because I'll need your help many more times in the future, so I need to keep you happy."
"But seriously, you got her the role, so why are you afraid to contact Mr. Krueger to take care of Grace?" Gabriel was puzzled.
"It wasn't my direct effort; it was a bit roundabout. I specifically asked someone, so others don't know the connection is me." Quentin replied.
Gabriel teased, "I really can't understand you more and more."
"Our current relationship shouldn't be exposed; it's not good for either of us. She had a lot of rumors in the industry early on, and I don't want her to have more gossip." Quentin continued.
"You're different. First, Jessica and she are close, so it's natural for you to help her. Second, you're married and in love with Jessica, so people won't speculate."
Gabriel chuckled, "Just as I said, it doesn't fit your style. You've really calculated everything about me and Jessica."
As soon as he hung up the phone, Jessica walked in and called him.
"Honey, are you done with your call? Let's go have dinner with Grace."
"Sure, what do you want to eat?"
Jessica thought for a moment and answered, "Let's have hot pot!"
"It's perfect for winter, and Grace likes it. She'll be stuck in the crew for months filming, so she'll definitely crave it."
Gabriel couldn't help but pinch Jessica's cheek with a smile. "Suddenly regretting coming here, I feel like I'm losing your favor."
Jessica laughed happily, cleared her throat deliberately, and cooperated with him very seriously.
"Don't worry, Gabriel, you'll always be the one I love the most! Grace is my best friend, but she doesn't compare to you."
Gabriel looked at her with a hint of grievance. "But whenever you see Grace, you care about her first."
Jessica was helpless.
Inside, Grace watched the couple still so loving after marriage and felt genuinely envious.
She was deeply happy and blessed for Jessica.
"It's great. Jessica has suffered so much, and now she finally gets to grow old with the one she loves."
The group laughed and chatted as they went to the hot pot restaurant.
No wonder it was winter; the hot pot restaurant was bustling.
The place was crowded, with the sounds of chatting and laughter blending, making it very lively.
It had been a long time since Grace had hot pot, and she missed it quite a bit.
When the hot pot broth was brought to the table, steaming and bubbling.
Slices of lamb and beef went into the pot, and it felt amazing.
Grace took out her phone and casually snapped a photo.
But after taking the photo, she felt a bit down.
At that moment, she impulsively wanted to share this joy with Quentin.
But remembering that Quentin didn't like hot pot, she quickly retracted the photo she had sent.
Then Grace put away her phone and happily ate with everyone.
During the meal, they talked about Susan.
"By the way, Jessica, how did you end up coming here with Susan?" Grace asked.
"Susan, huh? I was really impressed by her when I went to Seabrook Valley. Such a smart and clever little girl."
"I could tell you liked her a lot, and she's pure, kind, and hardworking. I thought if you made a comeback, having her by your side would be great."
"So I asked someone to find her, and I was lucky to find her quickly."
Susan continued, "Yeah, as soon as Jessica saw me, she asked if I wanted to work with Grace again. Of course, I nodded and agreed. So Jessica brought me over."
Grace was so moved she couldn't speak.
In the end, Grace could only tilt her head back and gulp down a glass of juice.
When Grace looked up again, her eyes were glistening with tears. "Thank you, Jessica!"
"Don't say it anymore, or I'll be unhappy." Jessica reminded.
"Okay, I won't say it."
After dinner, since Jessica and Gabriel had an early flight to catch the next morning, they stayed at a hotel near the airport.
When parting, Jessica hugged Grace tightly, reluctant to let go. "Grace, don't let yourself be wronged. Don't worry, Mr. Krueger won't make things difficult for you."
Grace smiled and thanked her, "Thank Mr. Walton for me."
Jessica playfully smiled. "It's not just that; Gabriel was actually asked by someone else."
"Okay, thank you, Jessica. Gabriel is willing to help me because of you." Grace immediately changed her tone.
Jessica liked hearing this.
"Compliments are always nice to hear, but I think someone else would like to hear it more right now."
Grace looked puzzled.
With a sly smile, Jessica didn't hide it anymore and leaned in to whisper.
"Grace, actually, Gabriel flew over not just because I asked him, but also because Quentin requested it. Otherwise, do you think Gabriel would be so diligent?"
This answer indeed surprised Grace.
It was so sudden.
These past two days, since Grace arrived here, her contact with Quentin had been minimal.
They only exchanged a "good morning" when they woke up and a "good night" before bed.
"Thank you, Jessica."
Grace was still in shock.
After parting, Gabriel and Jessica headed to the hotel.
On the way, Jessica leaned on him and acted coy. "Honey, how do you think I did today? Will Mr. Krueger dare to bully Grace?"
"Jessica, do you want to hear the truth?"
"Of course."
"Then I'm sorry to tell you, your acting was a bit terrible."
Jessica immediately looked up at him with a wronged expression.
Gabriel laughed and patted her hair. "But you're not an actress, so you don't need acting skills. Besides, with me around, even if your acting is bad, others will still applaud you."
Jessica smiled and snuggled into his arms. "That seems to be true."
On the other side, after Grace got home, she hesitated for a while before taking out her phone.
As soon as Grace opened it, she found over a dozen messages on Facebook.
They were all from Quentin: [What did you send? Why did you retract it? I didn't get to see it.]
[Nothing, just having hot pot with Jessica. I remembered you don't like it, so I retracted it.] Grace responded.
Quentin: [I don't like hot pot, but I like you sharing with me.]
[By the way, I have a gift for you.]
