Chapter 82 Watching Helplessly as They Leave
However, Jessica was disappointed.
Gabriel just glanced at her, quickly averted his gaze, and then swiftly ran out with Diana in his arms.
She smiled, unable to describe the feeling in her heart.
Supporting herself on the corner of the chair, she struggled to stand up.
As soon as she stood upright, she winced in pain, feeling a fiery sensation in her legs.
With great effort, she made her way out.
At the entrance of the restaurant, there was an ambulance parked outside.
Gabriel placed Diana in the vehicle, and through the crowd, he caught sight of Jessica.
She was walking slowly, finding it difficult.
In Gabriel's mind, the scene of her falling in the private room immediately surfaced. He had thought the room was covered with thick carpets, so a fall might sting a bit but shouldn't cause much harm.
However, he was wrong. Jessica was seriously injured.
Her condition was not good at all, causing great concern.
Looking at her, Gabriel subconsciously prepared to approach.
However, at that moment, Diana suddenly grabbed his hand, pitifully pleading, "Gabriel, don't go, please don't go."
"I'm so scared, I'm really scared, will you stay with me?"
Watching Diana cry like a child, trembling all over, her small hand tightly gripping his, as if holding onto the last thread of hope in a life-or-death situation.
Gabriel finally stopped in his tracks, comforting her, "Okay, I won't leave."
"Don't worry, you'll be fine."
"Okay."
Diana reached out, holding his arm tightly, not letting go at all.
Soon, the ambulance's doors closed.
Jessica watched as the door slowly shut, also observing Diana holding Gabriel's arm, gradually disappearing before her eyes.
Unable to hold back any longer, tears blurred her vision.
Through tear-filled eyes, she watched Gabriel move further and further away, disappearing into the distance.
Soon, the sound of the ambulance rang out, and the vehicle swiftly disappeared down the road.
Jessica still stood at the restaurant's entrance, staring blankly into the distance.
No, at them, gradually moving away.
The vehicle had been gone for over ten minutes, yet Jessica remained rooted to the spot, standing dazed.
The night wind grew colder, the temperature dropping sharply.
Jessica stood in the chilly breeze, her gaze fixed in the direction the ambulance had just departed.
Initially, she was indeed looking in the direction the ambulance had left.
But later, even she couldn't explain what she was really looking at, or hoping for.
The night grew colder and colder.
Jessica stood there, quickly feeling the chill.
Her body had stiffened.
In the cold wind, dressed lightly, wearing only the outfit she had hastily put on before leaving home, completely inadequate to resist the night's chill.
Her slender legs were exposed to the cold wind, feeling very cold, very icy.
Perhaps it was too cold, she had completely forgotten the pain.
Yes, cold. So cold.
Even the weather today seemed unusually cold, never this cold at this time of year.
When Oscar drove up, he saw Jessica in this state: standing in the cold wind, silent and still.
"Ms. Morgan, I'm here to pick you up."
"It's cold out, please get in the car!" Oscar said.
Jessica turned her dark eyes, glanced at him faintly, and said nothing.
Then, she took a step and got into the car.
Inside the car, Jessica remained silent, extremely quiet.
Oscar immediately called Gabriel, "Mr. Walton, I've picked up Ms. Morgan, you can rest assured."
"Good, take care of her."
In the car, Jessica leaned against the window, watching the neon lights flashing by.
She remained quiet throughout as if she didn't care where Oscar was taking her.
Twenty minutes later, Oscar parked the car in the parking lot.
He then personally went to the back to open the door for Jessica, "Ms. Morgan, please get out."
Jessica cooperated, not making things difficult at all, and stepped out of the car.
This was the hospital parking lot, she knew.
Because on the way here, she had seen the bright letters: Downtown Hospital.
Seeing Jessica moving forward, Oscar hurriedly caught up with something in his hand, "Ms. Morgan, wait."
Jessica stopped, and turned around, looking at him puzzled.
Finally, her gaze fell on the black long coat draped over his arm, a very familiar feeling washing over her.
Oscar quickly approached, personally draping the black coat over Jessica, then said, "Ms. Morgan, it's cold outside, don't catch a cold."
"Is this his coat?"
Jessica looked at him, asking her first question after so long.
Oscar nodded vigorously, "Yes, this is Mr. Walton's order. He said it's windy outside, you're always afraid of the cold, so he specifically instructed me to make sure you wear this coat."
"So, he also asked you to pick me up and take me to the hospital?" Jessica asked again.
Oscar nodded truthfully, "Yes."
Jessica didn't say anything more, she followed Oscar, heading to the doctor's office.
The doctor said her wound was quite deep, luckily it did not reach the bone.
After disinfecting and applying medication, the doctor prescribed some medication.
"I just need an external application," Jessica spoke up while the doctor was prescribing.
The doctor hesitated for a moment, looking uncertainly at her, "Although you came in time, the wound is still quite severe, slightly infected, you need to take some antibiotics."
"Thank you for your advice, but I only want to use external medication."
"Alright."
The doctor ultimately respected her decision.
After paying and getting the medication, Oscar stepped forward, "Ms. Morgan, I'll take you home."
Jessica looked at him, her gaze cold, "Is this also Gabriel's order?"
Oscar's silence said it all.
Jessica smiled, but there was no sweetness in that smile, only coldness and indifference.
"So what? Does he think I'm a puppet? When he wants me to come, I come; when he wants me to go back, I go back, right?"
Oscar panicked, quickly explaining, "Ms. Morgan, it's not what you think, Mr. Walton is worried about you, he wants you to see a doctor and then rest at home."
"Rest? Or is he afraid of disturbing him and his beloved?"
Oscar was at a loss for words, truly unable to respond.
Then, Jessica looked at him, "Where is he? I want to see him."
"Ms. Morgan, you..." Oscar looked troubled.
"Don't worry, I won't make things difficult for you. I just want to see him, at least let him tell me in person that he wants me to go back. If he says it, I'll go back."
Oscar nodded reluctantly, "Okay."
So, he quickly led her to a top VIP suite.
"Is he inside?" Jessica asked.
