Chapter 375 The Baby is Gone

Diana woke up the next day.

She reached out, instinctively touching her belly, and shouted, "Baby? Where's my baby? Is it born?"

At that moment, a nurse walked in. "I'm sorry, Ms. Bush, the baby suffocated due to lack of oxygen and was born without breathing."

"What did you say?" Diana's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at the nurse. "Say that again?"

"I'm sorry, Ms. Bush, we did our best."

"No, it can't be," But Diana shook her head frantically. "I don't believe you. Where's the baby? Where is he? I want to see him."

"Ms. Bush, please calm down. Your body is still very weak, and you can't get out of bed right now."

Seeing her agitated state, the nurse stepped forward to comfort her kindly.

However, Diana had already lost her mind.

She suddenly reached out and grabbed the nurse, speaking viciously, "Where's the baby? Take me to him now."

"Ms. Bush, in your current condition, you really can't  get out of bed."

"Shut up," Diana interrupted the nurse before she could finish her sentence.

Suddenly, she grabbed a fruit knife from the table and pressed it against the nurse's neck. "Take me there, or I'll kill you."

"Okay, don't get agitated, I'll take you," the nurse said, trembling with fear, nodding.

As soon as they stepped out the door, Diana quickly moved the knife to the nurse's waist from behind.

This way, she could hide the knife well.

At the same time, she whispered threateningly in the nurse's ear, "Don't try any tricks. If you call for help, I'll kill you right now."

The nurse was terrified and didn't dare to say a word as they passed the nurse's station.

They walked down the hallway until the nurse stopped in front of a door.

"The baby is inside. There's a name tag on it. You can go in and find it yourself," the nurse said.

Only then did Diana put away the knife and release her.

Given the chance, the nurse ran away frantically without even catching her breath.

Diana pushed the door open and went inside.

However, when she found it as cold as an ice cellar inside, she shivered several times.

Hugging her arms tightly, she continued to walk inside.

In her mind, she kept wondering: 'What is this place? Why is it so cold?'

However, when she found the name and opened the freezer, Diana instantly sobered up.

No wonder it was so cold. This place was actually...

How cruel, they actually put her baby here!

Holding the baby, Diana ran out like a mad woman.

She didn't care about anything else, holding the baby's cold body and running wildly.

Behind her, hospital staff called out, "Ms. Bush, please calm down, please stop."

However, Diana seemed not to hear them.

In the end, the staff called the police.

Diana sat in the police station's lobby, looking like she had lost her mind, muttering to herself.

On the day of the baby's burial, it rained heavily.

The rain poured down in torrents.

Suddenly, Diana clenched her fists and looked up into the sky.

The heavy rain washed over her face and clothes madly.

However, at that moment, she became extraordinarily calm.

"Gabriel, it's all your fault. Your heartlessness caused all of this. I could have married you and lived a happy life, but you betrayed me and married someone else."

"And my baby, you caused his death. If you had agreed to give him a name, how could he die?"

"Jessica, my baby is gone. How could your baby be born safely?"

After saying these hateful words, Diana suddenly burst into laughter.

The laughter was eerie, penetrating through the thick woods, and making people shiver.

That night, after taking a bath, Jessica handed the essential oil to Gabriel.

Gabriel took it, poured out some oil, and gently rubbed it on Jessica's belly.

Because he was afraid the baby would react strongly, his every single movement was very gentle.

But today, the two babies seemed particularly sensitive.

The moment Gabriel's hand touched her belly, the babies started kicking.

So, Gabriel had to let go.

After a few minutes, he prepared to continue applying the oil to Jessica.

However, both of the babies seemed to sense it and started kicking again.

One kick after another, making Jessica very uncomfortable.

In the end, Jessica had to apply the oil herself.

But the two babies continued to be restless as if playing hide-and-seek in her belly, having a great time.

At first, Jessica felt happy feeling their movements.

But as the kicks became more frequent, her body gradually became uncomfortable, and she couldn't take it anymore.

Gabriel squatted down, gently holding Jessica's belly with both hands and said, "Babies, listen up. I'm your dad. You're making your mom very uncomfortable with all this kicking."

"So, be good and quiet for a while, okay? Let your mom get some rest."

"When you come out, I'll play with you."

Whether it was Gabriel's words that worked or the babies got tired of playing, they soon quieted down.

Jessica was finally able to rest on the bed for a while.

After she lay down, Gabriel immediately started massaging her legs.

Due to the late stage of pregnancy, Jessica's legs were often cramped and were a bit swollen. Gabriel felt sorry for her, so he learned some simple massage techniques.

Now, every night, he would massage Jessica's legs.

Usually, he would massage her legs for about ten minutes.

But today, he stopped after just a few minutes.

Jessica leaned against him, holding a storybook and reading to the babies.

However, after reading several stories, she noticed that Gabriel was unusually quiet, and his brows were also furrowed.

How could she not notice his emotional changes?

Putting down the book, Jessica looked at Gabriel. "Is something bothering you?"

Gabriel was about to speak when Jessica reached out and smoothed his brows. "Your brows are furrowed. Don't say there's nothing wrong just to keep me from worrying. Gabriel, no matter what it is, I want to share it with you."

"Jessica," Gabriel reached out and hugged Jessica tightly.

Gabriel's voice became particularly low. "Today, Diana came to see me."

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Jessica immediately became uneasy.

She sat up straight and looked at Gabriel, asking nervously, "What did she want from you?"
