Chapter 642 Quentin's Car Accident

When Grace arrived at the hospital entrance, an ambulance had just pulled up.

She then saw Quentin being carried in on a stretcher.

The discussions of the surrounding crowd reached her ears.

"So tragic, that guy looks seriously injured. His face was covered in blood."

"Yeah, his whole eye was covered in blood, creating a truly terrifying sight."

"You guys are brave. I just took a glance from afar. There was so much blood, I didn't dare to look closely."

Listening to their words, Grace felt her legs go weak, and her mind went blank.

She stumbled and almost fell to the ground.

Without thinking much, she got up and rushed inside.

After asking for the location of the emergency room, she immediately ran over.

Just as she reached the corner, a strong arm suddenly grabbed her.

In the past, Quentin always liked to grab her like this.

At that moment, she hoped it was him pulling her.

However, when she turned her head, her hope was shattered.

"Who are you?" The person in front of her looked familiar, but she couldn't remember exactly who it was.

"Ms. Morgan, I'm Mr. Walton's assistant, Oscar Murdock. Mr. Walton needs to see you. It's about Mr. Taft. Please come with me."

"You mean Gabriel?"

"Yes."

Grace was led into a room by Oscar.

When Gabriel saw her, he spoke first, "I heard about Quentin's car accident. I know you must have received the call and rushed over out of concern for him."

"But Mrs. Taft also knows about it and is on her way to the hospital. She doesn't know about you and Quentin being together. If she finds out, you'll be in a tough spot."

"So it's best if you don't meet her to avoid unnecessary trouble."

If Quentin's mother, Ruby found out that Grace was being supported by Quentin, Grace would be bullied.

Gabriel was right; given Grace's situation, it would have been best to steer clear of trouble. At that point, confronting Ruby would have been a losing battle.

"Thank you!" Grace nodded in agreement.

"But I want to know his condition. How is he now?"

"Is his life at risk?"

Grace's voice trembled as she asked.

Her small hands tightly clutched the hem of her clothes.

In Grace's mind, Quentin had always represented power and strength.

He was harsh, domineering, and strong.

How could someone like him end up in a car accident?

And now he was bleeding so much?

Grace couldn't imagine it. She had never thought he would one day be lying on an operating table, covered in blood.

It all felt like a dream; unreal and illusory, making it hard for her to believe.

"Don't worry too much. Quentin has been sent to the emergency room. The best doctors in the hospital are working to save him."

"I'll have Oscar stay with you in the room. If you need anything, just let him know, and he'll take care of it."

"I'll wait outside the emergency room and notify you as soon as there's any news."

Grace nodded vigorously, "Okay, you go quickly."

Then, she collapsed onto the sofa.

Her hands were tightly clenched, and her palms were sweaty.

Waiting turned out to be a true ordeal. Since reuniting with Quentin, this seemed to be the first time she seriously examined her feelings.

Grace always thought she hated Quentin, convinced that her hatred would last a lifetime. Sometimes, when she looked at the fruit knife on the table, she would have a fleeting thought of stabbing it into his chest to relieve her hatred.

But now, when he was in a car accident, hanging by a thread.

Her heart felt like a thin piece of paper, instantly pierced.

She came to understand that she was profoundly afraid of Quentin dying, fearful of him departing from this world.

"Quentin, you big jerk, I hate you."

"I even thought about you dying, so I could be free. But it was just a thought. I never wanted you to die!"

As she spoke, tears streamed down Grace's face, dripping down to her chin.

Finally, Grace lay on the table, her shoulders shaking as she cried.

Jessica called, but Grace was too upset to hear it.

So Jessica called Oscar.

"Mrs. Walton!"

"How are things over there? Did Gabriel stop Grace?"

"Don't worry, Mrs. Walton. I'm with Ms. Grace Morgan now. She won't meet Mrs. Taft, but she's very emotional and has been crying."

"Okay, I understand."

Jessica hung up the phone and handed the kids to Danielle and Jonah before rushing over. By the time she arrived, Grace had already checked her phone several times.

But Gabriel had no news either.

In other words, Quentin was still in surgery, his life uncertain.

The surgery had been going on for so long without any news, which could only mean it was very dangerous.

After waiting for an hour, Grace couldn't wait any longer. She needed to see for herself. She couldn't sit idly by any longer. If Ruby found out, so be it; all she hoped was that he would be safe.

Seeing Grace about to leave, Oscar immediately stepped forward, "Ms. Morgan, is there something you need? You can tell me."

"No, you can't help with this. I want to see him."

"Ms. Morgan, Mr. Walton repeatedly instructed that you must stay here and not let Mrs. Taft see you, otherwise..."

"Oscar, thank you. I know you all mean well, but I want to see for myself."

"Ms. Morgan, the best doctors in the hospital are doing everything they can to save Mr. Taft. If you go now, you'll only worry more. Mr. Walton will inform you as soon as there's any news."

As Oscar was persuading her, there was a knock on the door.

It was Jessica.

Upon seeing her, Grace's pride, which she had clung to for so long, finally disintegrated.

She rushed over and hugged Jessica, "Jessica, I didn't know this would happen."

"It was my fault, I shouldn't have argued with him. Then he wouldn't have had the car accident and wouldn't be in the emergency room."

Jessica looked at Oscar, "You can leave now. I'll take care of things here."

Then, Jessica looked at Grace and gently comforted her.

"Grace, it was not your fault."

"Don't overthink it. Quentin will get through this. He'll be fine."

"Really?"

"I'm sure. He'll wake up safe and sound and stand in front of you."

Hearing Jessica's words, Grace felt much more at ease.

But Grace was still very worried.

Jessica and Grace sat on the sofa, anxiously waiting.

Grace was very nervous, reacting to every little sound.

So Jessica could only hold her, tightly gripping her hand.

"Grace, don't be afraid. I'll stay with you."

Just then, Grace's phone rang.
