Chapter 571 Gabriel's Long Journey to Win His Wife Back 2
"What?"
Gilbert and Freddy widened their eyes in disbelief.
"Mommy, didn't you just kick Daddy out? Aren't you mad anymore?"
Jessica patiently explained, "I'm very mad, but that doesn't mean I don't love your dad. Before I met you, I met your dad and fell in love with him first."
"I love you because of your dad. I've loved your dad longer than I've loved you, so I can't lie."
Gilbert and Freddy felt a bit sad and less enthusiastic.
Jessica comforted them, "Don't be sad, my darlings. There will be someone who loves you even more than I do, and they will always put you first in their lives."
"They will love you just as much as I love your dad."
Gilbert and Freddy cheered up and were no longer sad.
But they were still a bit jealous.
Jessica, Freddy, and Gilbert dined together.
Jessica was a bit distracted while eating.
Since Gabriel had appeared briefly earlier, he had disappeared, leaving her unsure of his whereabouts.
But she was too embarrassed to ask Gilbert and Freddy.
So she ate her meal in silence.
She didn't eat much before heading upstairs.
After taking a bath and changing into her pajamas, suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
As soon as Jessica opened it, she saw the servants bringing in rows of clothes.
All the clothes were new arrivals, dazzling and overwhelming.
She had to admit that they were truly beautiful.
"What are you doing?" Jessica asked.
A servant approached, "Mrs. Walton, Mr. Walton said he picked out these clothes for you. He thinks you'll look beautiful in them."
Jessica was furious, "Take them all away. Tell him I don't like any of them."
Ten minutes later.
The servant brought a pile of jewelry.
These were some of Jessica's favorite pieces.
But she just glanced at them indifferently, "Take them away. Tell him I don't need them."
Another ten minutes passed.
The servant brought in a variety of delicious dishes.
Each dish emitted a rich aroma, looking and smelling irresistible.
But Jessica remained calm, "Take them all away. Tell him not to send anything else."
In the living room downstairs, Gabriel sat there looking defeated.
Freddy walked over and sat beside him, holding his little face and sighing.
After a while, Gilbert also walked over and sat beside him, holding his little face and sighing as well.
Freddy and Gilbert sighed one after the other, looking at Gabriel with concern.
Then they said, "Daddy, what have you done?"
"I bought lots of clothes, but your mom didn't like them."
Gilbert said, "Mom's belly is big now. She feels she doesn't look good in clothes and is very insecure, yet you sent her clothes."
Gabriel replied, "I wanted to tell her that whether she's pregnant or has gained weight, I will always love her, and she will always be the most beautiful woman in my heart."
Gilbert fell silent.
Freddy asked, "Then why did you send Mom jewelry?"
Gabriel said, "Those pieces of jewelry have beautiful meanings. Some symbolize the best companionship, some symbolize a lifetime of love, and some symbolize the one and only you. I wanted to tell her that I love her forever."
Freddy said, "Don't you know that Mom's hands and feet are swollen in the later stages of pregnancy? Mom took off all her jewelry because it's uncomfortable to wear."
Gabriel fell silent.
Then Gabriel asked, "What about the food? Why doesn't your mom like it now?"
"Mom said the baby is a bit big, and the doctor told her not to eat too much, so she's been controlling her weight."
Gilbert and Freddy shook their heads repeatedly, "Daddy, you're so clueless."
"If you keep this up, we can't help you."
"Why don't you ask Mr. Myles? He knows all about this and understands Mom better than you do, treating her well."
For some reason, Gabriel felt a pang of sadness hearing this.
That night, Gabriel sat alone in the living room for a long time.
Gabriel thought, 'I'm not stupid or foolish.'
'I'm just too anxious, too scared.'
'So I have impulsively given her everything I think is the best and most precious.'
'But none of them were what she needed or touched her heart.'
'Gabriel, you're such a failure right now.'
He wanted to just rush in, hold her tightly, and never let go no matter how hard she struggled.
But Gabriel was afraid, afraid she would hate him even more.
She said she didn't want to see him and didn't allow him to enter that door, so he didn't dare to take a step forward.
Truly loving someone made you cautious and anxious. It made you wise, but it also led to incredible foolishness.
"Jessica, what should I do?"
Gabriel's face was full of pain and unease.
Just then, a servant brought Louie to the living room, preparing to go upstairs.
At that moment, Gabriel felt a surge of jealousy.
"So late, is there something wrong?" Gabriel walked over.
The servant replied, "Mr. Walton, Mrs. Walton's legs are cramping again. In the later stages of pregnancy, Louie has been helping Mrs. Walton with massages."
"After the massage, Mrs. Walton feels much better and can slowly fall asleep."
Gabriel clenched his fists, the veins on his hands bulging; he couldn't deny his deep care.
It was late, and Louie, a man, was going to Jessica's room to massage her.
How could Gabriel not be jealous?
But thinking of Jessica, Gabriel suppressed his anger.
"Are her cramps severe?"
The servant nodded, "Yes, not only cramps but also severe swelling. Louie knows some massage techniques, and with his help, Mrs. Walton's feeling a lot better."
"I understand. I'll take him up." Gabriel said, holding back.
"Alright, Mr. Walton," Louie said.
At Jessica's bedroom door, Gabriel hesitated to knock.
Louie asked, "Mr. Walton, are you waiting for something?"
"No."
With that, Gabriel raised his hand to knock.
But just as his hand was about to touch the door, he remembered Jessica's words.
He quickly withdrew his hand.
"You knock. She's expecting you."
"Mr. Walton, aren't you coming in?"
Louie looked at him and continued, "Or are you okay with me going into Mrs. Walton's room alone at this hour?"
