Chapter 839 On the Wedding Day 4

Before long, Willie received a call from Ruby on his phone.

"Mr. Taft, it's Mrs. Taft calling," Willie reported.

"Hang up the phone and turn it off," Quentin ordered mercilessly.

At the same time, he asked, "Is everything arranged with James?"

"Rest assured, Mr. Taft, the evidence is solid. Even if he's James, there's no way he can turn this around."

"Good."

Quentin's gaze fell on Grace's face, and his cold, sharp eyes finally softened a bit.

On the other side, Ruby angrily smashed her phone and coldly ordered, "Go find him immediately. Even if you have to search the entire city, you must bring Quentin back!"

Caroline had been anxiously waiting, but half an hour had passed, and she hadn't received any response.

No need to think, the result must be unfavorable.

There was only an hour left before the wedding ceremony was supposed to start, and Quentin hadn't arrived.

Her heart slowly grew cold.

She couldn't hold back any longer. Just as she was about to call James, he pushed the door open.

"Caroline, what's going on? Why isn't Quentin here yet?" James's temper was flaring.

"Dad!"

Seeing James, Caroline couldn't hold back her grievances any longer and threw herself into his arms.

Before she could speak, tears were already streaming down her face.

"Dad, what should I do? Quentin hasn't come. Is he having second thoughts? Does he not want me anymore?"

"Dad, please think of something. I must marry him today! I've waited for him for so many years; I can't let it all be for nothing!"

"If he doesn't come, I'll be so embarrassed. I won't dare to face anyone again!"

Caroline clung to James, whining in various ways, while James sighed angrily.

"Caroline, I told you from the beginning that Quentin wasn't right for you. I don't know what he did to make you so devoted to him."

"Why don't you understand? He doesn't love you. He loves Grace. He's marrying you only because of Ruby's threats. He's using you to gain the inheritance of the Taft Group, my foolish daughter!"

Caroline covered her ears and shook her head continuously, "Dad, I don't want to hear it. I beg you, don't say it."

"I've known all of this for a long time. I willingly agreed to this deal with Mrs. Taft. I love Quentin. As long as he's willing to marry me, I don't care about the reason."

James looked at her with a mix of heartache and anger, "You're out of your mind."

"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have agreed to this marriage. If you hadn't begged me on your knees, I wouldn't have softened and made such a big mistake."

"Caroline, it's all my fault. If I had been more resolute, we wouldn't be in this situation today. Listen to me, today is a good opportunity. Quentin not coming is perfect. You won't marry him. I'll find someone better for you."

Caroline clung to his clothes, crying so hard she could barely breathe.

"No, Dad, I've said it countless times. I don't want anyone else. I only want Quentin!"

"I love Quentin. He's the only one I want in this life!"

Caroline lifted her tear-streaked face and suddenly took a knife from the drawer, pressing the sharp blade against her neck.

James's heart skipped a beat, and his face showed unmistakable worry and tension.

"Caroline, what are you doing? Put down the knife!"

James made a move to grab the knife, but Caroline quickly stepped back, glaring at him, "Dad, step back. Don't come any closer, or I'll die right in front of you!"

With that, Caroline cut her neck.

Blood quickly dripped down from the cut on her neck.

James was thoroughly frightened and quickly stepped back, "Caroline, okay, I promise. I'll step back. Don't do anything rash."

Caroline finally stopped the knife and looked at James.

"Dad, I'll say it again. I love Quentin. I must marry him. It's my lifelong dream!"

"If I can't marry him today, I'll die right in front of you."

Seeing James's expression soften and his attitude less firm, she immediately changed her strategy and began to plead.

"Dad, I beg you. I have no one else to turn to. Only you can help me. If you care about me, please help me!"

"Dad, you're so capable! Think of a way. Make Quentin marry me, okay?"

Seeing the knife at her neck, James could only nod, "Okay, Caroline, don't cry. I'll think of a way. Don't worry, I'll make sure he marries you."

Caroline's face lit up instantly, "Really, Dad? You're not lying to me? You'll really help me?"

"You're my only child. If I don't help you, who will? Stay home and wait for my good news."

"Okay, Dad!"

Just as James was about to leave, Caroline suddenly called out to him, "Dad, what are you going to do?"

"Grace is getting married today. Since Quentin loves her so much, if I capture her, he won't dare not marry you."

Thinking of this, James's eyes darkened with regret.

Last time, he only intended to give a warning. He didn't expect Grace to be so lucky and escape.

If he had known Caroline would be hurt because of this, he wouldn't have been so lenient. He should have killed Grace to completely crush Quentin's hopes.

In the hotel suite, a group of people barged in without any courtesy.

Seeing the woman in the wedding dress sitting on the chair, the leader immediately ordered, "Quick, grab her!"

"Yes."

As the woman stood up, a smile played on her lips. She walked over willingly and extended her hands.

The leader was puzzled. This was too cooperative.

But he didn't think much of it.

"Smart move!" he said coldly, waving his hand, "Take her away and report back that we've captured her."

After they made the call, the woman's smile turned cold. "So confident? Are you sure you got the right person?"

"What do you mean?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the woman suddenly tore off her wedding dress, revealing a tight leather outfit underneath.

She clapped her hands, and a group of people poured in from outside.

In an instant, the suite was almost filled with people.

A fight was imminent.

The woman quickly dealt with everyone, then clapped her hands and left a message for her companion.

"Report to Mr. Taft that James came to capture Ms. Morgan."

"I've taken care of everyone here. As for James, leave him to Mr. Taft to handle personally!"
