Chapter 368 Jessica Falls Down the Stairs

"Yes, I'm happy, like, over the moon happy that I get to be with Gabriel again. And I'm thrilled that our babies will have his love in the future. I feel super lucky, but not proud," Jessica said.

Chelsea stared at Jessica for a long moment. Then, she pulled out an invitation and handed it to her. "This is my wedding invitation. I hope you can come."

Jessica took it and nodded. "Of course, we'll be there."

They headed downstairs together. Everything was going smoothly until they reached the last few steps. Suddenly, a staff member came rushing up the stairs with a wedding dress.

In her hurry, she accidentally bumped into Jessica.

All they heard was a scream as Jessica tumbled down the stairs.

Gabriel was there in a flash. When he saw Jessica lying in a pool of blood, his eyes turned icy cold, glaring at Chelsea with a look that could kill.

"Jessica," Gabriel called out, panic in his voice.

But Jessica was already unconscious, her eyes were shut tight, unable to hear Gabriel's desperate calls.

"Where's the ambulance? Is it here yet?" Gabriel shouted frantically.

But there was no way the ambulance could arrive that quickly.

Henry was the only one who stayed calm. He shouted, "Quick, carry her. I'll drive you to the hospital. It'll be faster than waiting for the ambulance."

Gabriel snapped out of it, scooped up Jessica, and ran like mad towards the parking lot. Her clothes and hands were soaked in blood, her face ghostly pale. Trembling with fear, Gabriel held her hand tightly, dreading what might happen next.

When they got to the hospital, Jessica was rushed into the emergency room. Gabriel paced anxiously outside, overwhelmed by torment, pain, anger, and regret.

Chelsea, who had followed them, sat dazed on a chair. She trembled, her eyes glued to the light above the operating room door, her eerie calmness unsettling.

Henry sat beside her, patting her shoulder and whispering, "It's okay. I believe God will protect her and the babies."

Chelsea remained silent, but if you looked closely, her expression wasn't calm; it was dazed and filled with extreme terror.

For two whole hours, the light in the operating room stayed on. Nurses went in and out, their faces tense and focused.

Gabriel only saw their tense faces, too frightened to even approach them and ask how things were going. He was beyond terrified.

Three hours passed, and the light was still on.

Seeing Chelsea sitting there the whole time, Gabriel couldn't hold back any longer. He walked over and punched the wall behind Chelsea.

The loud noise startled her, and she looked at him with wide eyes. Trembling, she looked at Gabriel with a pale face. "If I say I didn't push her, would you believe me?"

"Chelsea?" Gabriel shouted angrily.

Unable to hold back any longer, he grabbed her by the collar, his eyes fierce like a beast. "I never thought you could be so ruthless."

"Just remember this: if anything happens to Jessica and the babies, I will definitely take revenge on the Haugen family."

Chelsea seemed to expect these words. She stayed calm, not even begging for mercy.

Her calmness and indifference only fueled Gabriel's anger. Suddenly, he grabbed her by the neck, his grip so tight it looked like he wanted to strangle her.

But Chelsea didn't argue or speak. She closed her eyes, and tears slid down her cheeks.

Gabriel tightened his grip, and Chelsea's breathing grew weaker and weaker. Her face turned deathly pale.

"Calm down, let go of Chelsea," Henry urged from the side.

But Gabriel shoved him away. He had completely lost control.

Just then, the light in the operating room went out, and the door opened.

Henry immediately shouted, "The surgery is over!"

Hearing this, Gabriel let go of Chelsea and ran over frantically. "Doctor, how is my wife?" he asked anxiously.

"Don't worry, the mother is not in any danger, just a bit weak."

"And the babies?" Gabriel asked, his voice trembling.

"Fortunately, the mother was brought in just in time, and the babies are fine."

Gabriel's eyes instantly filled with tears. "Thank God, thank God for blessing them," he whispered, overwhelmed with relief. Otherwise, he really wouldn't know how to face Jessica.

As Jessica was moved to the ward, Gabriel held her hand tightly, his heart finally at ease.

After they left, Chelsea suddenly squatted on the ground and started crying. Her voice was filled with sadness and helplessness. But if you listened carefully, you'd hear a sense of relief in it.

"Jessica, you did well. Thank you. Thank you and your babies for being okay." Otherwise, she would have lived in guilt for the rest of her life.

She admitted she had been very jealous of Jessica. Jealous of her being loved by Gabriel, and jealous of her being pregnant with twins. But from the moment she decided to marry Henry, her heart had opened up.

In this life, she would never have another chance. She only hoped that Jessica could stay with Gabriel for a lifetime, and grow old with him.

In the end, truly letting go meant giving up. Chelsea hugged herself and cried her heart out.

Henry watched her, and for the first time, he saw Chelsea in a different light. She didn't seem as willful as the rumors said.

Jessica woke up the next morning. As soon as she moved her fingers, Gabriel noticed.

"Jessica?"

Seeing her awake, Gabriel was extremely excited. But because he had stayed up all night, his eyes were bloodshot, and his voice was hoarse.

"Why do you look so haggard? I'm sorry for making you worry," Jessica said, reaching out with difficulty to touch his face. Seeing his pale and drawn expression, her heart ached.

"Fool, I'm the one who should apologize. I didn't protect you and the babies well."

His words struck her like a bolt of lightning. He didn't protect her and the babies? What did he mean?

Jessica's heart began to race. However, Gabriel's words forced her to confront her worst fears.

"Gabriel, what do you mean? Do you mean the babies...?" Her voice trembled as she spoke, panic rising within her.
